Chapter 37: Let's Undergo Purification Together
"Mina, you are a Witch."
Mina, in a cheerful mood, happily hummed an unknown town folk song in the cottage, and it was clear that she was feeling unusually good at that moment.
"Hmm~ yeah."
Unguarded Mina, happily humming the song, instinctively nodded in response.
After replying, the previously ecstatic Mina suddenly froze in place, her complexion turning unusually pale as a wave of fear surged up.
But before Mina could react, a strong arm tightly pulled her into an embrace.
Coming to her senses, Mina frantically shook her head, her eyes full of worry as she looked at Fulade, as if wanting to explain something.
However, Fulade did not let Mina explain anything, merely soothing the girl's nervous emotions.
"Don't be afraid, Mina, I don't care about this."
Mina looked at Fulade's sincere eyes, which seemed genuine, and tears suddenly spilled out uncontrollably.
"I'm so scared, so scared that one day others will find out and send me to the pyre."
"Also I'm scared that after you know, you might leave me."
Mina seemed to find an emotional outlet, pouring out in one rush all the pressure and worries she had accumulated over the past year.
"Alright, alright, you won't be alone anymore; you have me."
Fulade looked at Mina in his arms and gently wiped away the tears from her face.
"Hmm, you'll still have me in the future." Mina's eyes were red as she gave Fulade a small smile.
Seeing Mina suddenly seem much more spirited, Fulade gently pecked her rosy lips.
Under Mina's shy gaze, he asked her, puzzled, about his earlier doubt: "When those thugs teased you before, why didn't you use Witchcraft to resist?"
Mina, seeing this, said somewhat embarrassed:
"I didn't dare."
"Besides, Grandma told me that not all Witches are bad; like us White Witches, we are forbidden from harming ordinary humans."
Mina said pitifully, and cautiously added a defense, that she was not a bad Witch.
Obviously Mina was still a bit worried inside.
Fulade nodded, looking at Mina's slightly swollen eyes, and said seriously, "In two days~ I'm leaving here."
Seeing Mina, who became suddenly despondent upon hearing he would leave, Fulade cupped the girl's cheek and asked, "Will you go with me?"
Mina, who had been very sad, stared at Fulade's sudden invitation, and after a moment of stunned silence, she immediately nodded without hesitation.
"Hmm, I do!"
Seeing Mina's unhesitant expression, Fulade smiled lightly and, in a slightly teasing tone, said, "When the time comes, I'll sell you to the most vicious king and earn a huge bounty."
"Nonsense~ stop it."
Hot breath constantly filled her ears; hearing Fulade's teasing tone, Mina immediately shyly pounded Fulade's solid chest, expressing her displeasure.
The two laughed and frolicked for a while, and unknowingly rolled onto the sheets.
At this moment Mina seemed to have set aside all her worries, appearing especially proactive and passionate.
After just a short while, the two, helping each other, removed all their armor.
Looking at Mina's snow‑white skin beneath him, flushed with an excited pink hue, its roundness rising and falling, constantly trembling, it looked unusually appetizing.
Fulade did not hesitate and began sucking at Mina's neck. As a slight pain arrived, Mina's thoughts started to drift, and she felt dizzy.
After a soft moan, the room fell into a brief silence.
"Darling, you're not human, right?"
Mina, with her misty, watery big eyes, stared at the ceiling above, speaking with a vacant expression.
Obviously, in that instant Mina had already sensed something odd.
"Then do you mind?" Fulade whispered in her ear, exhaling hot breath, while saying.
"Then! Let's undergo purification together," Mina replied affirmatively.
As night fell, a cry~ echoed suddenly throughout the room.
Two hours later.
Looking at Mina's charming face drenched in sweat, her fair delicate skin bearing a rose‑like flush that lingered, creating a unique sight.
Fulade carefully withdrew his arm, covered the overburdened Mina with a blanket, draped a garment over her, then went to the small table and took out the rustic Witchcraft scroll he had found at noon.
Although he had decent night vision, Fulade still habitually lit an oil lamp, and, using the flame's light, examined it carefully.
"Ogsberg occurs every three years; when the Blood Moon rises, using a high‑tier creature's heart as a catalyst, and adding black‑tail root, fire crystal powder, Reigen fruit, and a total of twenty‑three Magic Materials, the concoction can be brewed into a potion that grants immunity to flame burns, so Witches will no longer fear fire."
"I remember in 'Witch Hunter', Famic plotted against Alide'anna to obtain her high‑tier Witch heart for flame immunity; it seems this scroll originates from that."
While Fulade was quietly pondering, he inadvertently noticed several dense, blurry characters in the lower left corner of the scroll, appearing to have been deliberately scratched out.
Fulade furrowed his brows, examined for a moment, and could only vaguely see:. Di. thousands search O. Si. Blood Moon. Seeing these nonsensical markings, Fulade's brows twitched, wondering why these were scratched out, especially since they related to the Blood Moon.
"Could it be that they truly hide a secret that must not be known, hence the deliberate erasure?"
"Search, O, Si, Blood Moon."
"That phrase is easy to understand; put together it should mean~ discovering signs of a Blood Moon in Ogsberg."
"But the lines before that give me no clue," Fulade shook his head helplessly.
His intuition told him the matter hinted at a subtle strangeness, likely concealing a significant secret.
Jianjiaocun, werewolf, Blood Moon.
Ogsberg, Witch. Blood Moon.
Just as Fulade furrowed his brows in thought, a pair of slender, pale fingers suddenly brushed Fulade's furrowed-thinking head, gently kneading it.
Fulade looked toward the sky outside, which was beginning to brighten, and realized he had been sitting here for several hours.
"Mina, why did you suddenly wake up?"
Fulade comfortably leaned against Mina's soft, ample bosom, speaking softly.
"I woke up suddenly when I noticed you weren't there."
"It's so late, why aren't you sleeping yet?" Mina asked, puzzled.
Only then did Mina let out a soft exclamation, stop what she was doing, suddenly bend over and pick up that magic scroll on the table, examining it.
"Isn't this the scroll Grandma burned before? How is it still here?"
