Chapter 47: Sibyl
"Hmm~"
Weiluona gave Fulade a slightly coquettish, charming glance, then pressed tightly against his arms, wrapped her arms around Fulade's neck, and gave him a hard kiss.
Seeing Weiluona stuck in his arms, still giggling and staring at him, Fulade couldn't help but smile wryly and shake his head.
He had to take the initiative to ask about the situation of the Vervia Principality and its specific developments during this period.
As Fulade asked, Weiluona finally came to her senses, her charming face flushing slightly, and hurriedly began a formal report.
After all, a large part of her reason for coming here was to report recent conditions, but when she saw Fulade, she naturally pushed the matter out of her mind.
Fulade expressed his understanding.
After all, for someone in the late stage of love‑brain, this is already routine.
"After nearly two months of development, the Blood Race has grown to over 120 members, recruiting five Witches; I have already handed these people over to Famic."
Additionally, we located a werewolf pack with eighteen werewolves, five trolls, and hundreds of Dwarf Demon Tribe members.
"Dwarf Demon Tribe?" Fulade asked, feeling a hint of familiarity.
"Master, these Dwarf Demon Tribe are actually a branch of the old Dwarf race; though not very powerful, they excel at forging equipment and enchantments."
Hearing Weiluona's introduction, Fulade finally understood, feeling that it sounded somewhat familiar.
"In just under two months you achieved such results; I truly didn't misjudge you, Weiluona."
Seeing Weiluona back to normal, speaking fluently and looking very confident and shrewd, Fulade couldn't help but fully affirm her abilities.
This made Weiluona's smile on her face grow even richer.
"Moreover, the Transylvania Xiudaoyuan and the Holy Court's major sites have already begun a purge operation; I believe it will be completed within three days."
"And this time I also brought fifty Blood Race members, awaiting your command, Master."
Fulade looked at Weiluona appreciatively, gently soothing her tender shoulder, and said, "Then let them act quickly; it shouldn't take long before the Holy Court learns of Vervia's matter, after all this can't be hidden for long."
"Hmm, I think the same; it's just uncertain whether those low‑rank vampires of Vervia can block the news in time, which would at least buy us some more time."
"As long as Victor isn't foolish, he'll definitely take action."
"I'll go to Vervia in a while; you should come along then," Fulade said thoughtfully.
After that the two talked more, until the sky cleared, and Weiluona finally left.
Three days later.
Council Hall.
"Where is Count Gelansem?"
Fulade entered the Council Hall, glanced around, and asked the others.
"This~"
Seeing the cabinet ministers stammering, Fulade said with slight displeasure, "If you have something to say~ say it directly!"
A slightly stooped white‑haired elder first glanced at the others, saw no one intervening, then explained to Fulade: "Count Gelansem's young daughter, Miss Sibyl, was almost defiled by the clergy while praying at St. An Grand Cathedral yesterday; fortunately a guard discovered it in time, otherwise—"
At this point, Scholar Mei En shook his head.
Hearing this, Fulade instantly understood. "These Holy Court scoundrels, masquerading under the name of the divine, should have the guard seize the perpetrators and hand them over to Count Gelansem for punishment," Fulade roared in anger.
The others, seeing this, dared not utter a word.
Although the matter involves Holy Court clergy and should be handled by the Holy Court, the persons involved this time are so special that everyone dares not speak up.
"Thank you, Prince, for upholding justice for me."
At that moment, a voice came from the doorway as Count Gelansem entered with a calm demeanor, though a flash of anger in his eyes revealed his true state.
"However, we shouldn't intervene too much in this matter; I trust Deacon Luxi'an will give me an answer!"
"Oh, is that so?"
Fulade gazed deeply at this chief minister who sought to settle the matter.
"Prince, I am also angry, but let this end here; I believe a good outcome will follow."
Count Gelansem, suppressing his fury, replied to Fulade.
"I understand Count Gelansem is considering the bigger picture and does not wish the kingdom to fall into enmity with the Holy Court over this; since you have made up your mind, I will not interfere either."
"But if the Holy Court cannot give you a satisfactory answer, I will retrieve it for you."
Hearing Fulade's concerned words, Count Gelansem looked into Fulade's eyes and showed a hint of gratitude.
Watching the ministers exit the Council Hall, Fulade sat on the throne, his gaze flickering, lost in thought.
"Count Gelansem really is something; Sibyl was bullied, yet he does nothing to seek justice for his own daughter."
"Is his family more important, or his faith?"
A voice suddenly rang out in the hall.
Malina appeared, holding a girl's hand, walking out from a side chamber of the Council Hall, looking indignant.
Behind her was Sibyl Ke Laoli, Count Gelansem's daughter.
She had long dark brown hair tied at the back, a black ornate gown, and a graceful, slightly tall and curvy figure.
Her fair skin, delicate and slightly coquettish features, glanced cautiously at Fulade, her expression a bit uneasy.
"What's wrong? The little tag‑along who used to run behind me now doesn't recognize me, brother," Fulade said with a smile, teasing lightly.
From Sibyl's slightly swollen eyes, one could see her mental state was not very good at the moment.
Hearing Fulade's greeting, Sibyl first gave him a shy glance.
Seeing Fulade still seemed like the caring older brother he once was, she felt a warm feeling inside.
Her eyes inexplicably reddened a bit, and she quickly raised her hand, rubbed her eyes, and, a little embarrassed, said:
"Not at all, Fulade brother, I've missed you these years too; you can ask Malina sister if you don't believe me."
Seeing Sibyl still as shy as before, Fulade stepped in front of her, as he would in childhood, stroked her hair, and said earnestly:
"Don't worry, Sibyl, as your brother I will uphold justice for you."
Feeling the warmth from the large hand above her head, Sibyl's gaze fixed on Fulade, whose face bore a gentle hue, and a tear slipped down despite her will.
