Chapter 53: Victor
Looking at the woman before him whose face was filled with terror and submission, Fulade's gaze flickered for a moment.
He did not pay her any further attention.
At this moment in the village, in merely a moment's time, the battle had already ended.
Looking around, no fewer than a hundred vampires stood proudly erect, and beneath their feet were those werewolves and vampire soldiers who had already lost their senses.
"Dumitelu."
"Prince." A vigorous figure stepped out from the crowd and bowed in greeting.
"Tie up these werewolves for me. Once they've been tamed, keep them to guard the estate."
"As you command, Prince." Dumitelu accepted the order and departed.
Then, looking up at the massive vortex that blotted out the sky, formed from countless black bats, Fulade waved his hand, and it instantly dissolved into countless black streams that scattered in all directions.
As these dark clouds dispersed, moonlight poured down.
Having done all this, Fulade then turned back to carefully size up Amelia.
Her tall, upright figure clad in a set of black armor, her neat brown medium-length hair, and a face that was slightly hard-angled yet carried a touch of allure, immediately gave her a distinctive air of valiant grace.
Looking at the woman before him who was only slightly shorter than himself, Fulade spoke:
"Can you fully control these vampire soldiers?"
Amelia looked at Fulade with reverence and said, "My lord~"
"Call me Master."
Amelia revealed a flash of struggle, but ultimately forced the words out with difficulty and stiffness: "Mas—Master!"
As the words fell, Amelia's still somewhat resistant heart seemed to shatter along with some invisible substance, completely abandoning its resistance.
Looking at Amelia, who at this moment appeared to have fully resigned herself to her fate, the corners of Fulade's mouth curled upward. Whether it was genuine submission or she harbored some ulterior motives, he did not care.
What mattered was that she had already been branded with the mark of submission by him. Beneath his shadow, no matter what she thought now, the will to submit would take root and sprout.
"Master, they are all warriors from my territory, completely under my control," Amelia said.
"In that case, I'll leave these people to you."
Fulade asked, "How many more soldiers like this do you have?"
"Master, there are still fifty vampire warriors in my territory," Amelia said.
"Merely low-level Blood Race, and only you~ barely pass muster," Fulade sensed them for a moment and found that the purity of their bloodlines was truly not high.
At most, they were only barely a cut above the zombie-version blood servants he had created before.
It was only by relying on good equipment and organization that they could manage; otherwise, they really would be no match for those mutated werewolves who had lost their reason and retained only their hunting instincts.
Hearing this, Amelia subconsciously looked at the vampires around her, and could naturally clearly feel their unreservedly powerful strength.
After scanning the area, Amelia discovered that seemingly every one of them possessed strength no less than hers, and those stronger than her were everywhere.
Moreover, she had also seen earlier that each of these vampires possessed the ability to transform into a swarm of bats and to fly—abilities she herself did not have.
At this moment, only one thought remained in Amelia's mind: who on earth were they!
At the same time, this also made her realize that the sky here was about to change.
Fulade looked toward the direction of Victor Castle: "Go gather your people. Let me see your loyalty. If you can satisfy me, I shall bestow upon you boundless power."
Watching the figure of the man departing into the distance, Amelia took a deep breath, and the gaze in her blue pupils quickly turned to resolve.
Fulade, sensing Amelia's actions, gave an noncommittal smile.
Victor Castle.
This place had now become the headquarters of this vampire lineage. Besides Amelia, who maintained a barely equal relationship with Victor, there were also several vampire councilors whose power was slightly inferior, and they were all present here at this moment.
They were all nearby local lords whom Victor had drawn to his side.
"According to Marcus's description, the moment he dies, we will die as well. And once the werewolf William dies, likewise, the werewolf populations he developed will also cease to exist."
"Since we've already captured that damned werewolf source, why not kill him? Once he's dead, the rest of those damned dogs will all be eradicated without the slightest effort."
The speaker was a gaunt middle-aged nobleman. He was the lord of a territory adjacent to Victor's domain, and at the same time, a supporter of Victor.
Only at this moment, even he found it difficult to understand Victor's current decision.
"Victor, tell us your plan. What exactly are you scheming?" Another voice rang out.
In this somewhat dim hall, there were seven chairs forged from black iron.
Apart from their creator, Marcus, only Amelia had not yet arrived.
A nobleman whose face appeared somewhat aged, but who stood perfectly straight with elegant bearing, his golden hair and blue eyes, surveyed his surroundings.
Looking at the lord councilors around him all gazing his way, awaiting an answer, Victor pondered for a moment and said:
"Although we possess nearly eternal life—a hundred years, three hundred years, even a thousand years—we may still exist. But"
"Do not forget, although we have extremely long lives, this does not mean—we cannot die!"
As Victor's gloomy, warning tone echoed through the hall, these vampire councilors immediately fell into thoughtful reflection.
"Do not forget that the Holy Court's Deacon Mano stationed in Vervia died at our hands. Although we have already sealed off the news in time, sooner or later the Holy Court will discover it."
"And the existence of these werewolves can not only divert their attention, but also strengthen our power."
As Victor finished speaking, the entire hall fell into a momentary silence.
After a long while, another voice rang out.
"You mean to tame those werewolves."
"That's right," Victor responded.
"How is that possible? They have no reason, they're mad, bloodthirsty—they're just beasts that only know how to slaughter. How could they possibly be tamed?" the gaunt middle-aged lord said.
The other three clearly all quite agreed with these words.
Looking at the distrustful gazes of the surrounding vampire lords, Victor did not mind it at all, and presently clapped his hands.
As the sound of the claps rang out, from a passageway connected to the hall, two figures—one tall, one short—were slowly walking toward the hall.
As the two figures appeared, these vampire councilors finally realized that the short figure was actually a werewolf wearing a collar.
And the other end of the chain attached to the collar was in the hand of the vampire soldier behind him.
Seeing the werewolf offering no resistance, and instead performing various actions under the vampire soldier's orders.
These vampire councilors still didn't understand the meaning of this.
"You, you've already been successfully tamed!?" said the thin-built vampire councilor in surprise.
"We just captured the werewolf William, how could it be possible in such a short time?" saying this, he seemed to realize something: "Unless~ the Wolf Disaster had just appeared, you had already begun taming!"
Seeing Victor's calm expression, these councilors finally understood.
It turned out that all of this had long been calculated by him.
Just as Victor was smugly enjoying the sight of these councilors looking at him with shocked and wary eyes.
"Pa-pa~!!"
"Not bad, not bad, quite splendid."
