Chapter 54: Who Gave You the Courage

~7 min read 1,269 words

"Who—!"

Victor and the vampire councilors immediately looked toward the source of the voice.

They saw that at some unknown time, a young man of handsome appearance and mysterious bearing had appeared in the seat that originally belonged to Marcus.

Victor stared at this suddenly appeared young man with an expression of uncertainty and suspicion, his blue eyes filled with wariness and disbelief.

Because he was certain that when the meeting began, there was no one in Marcus's chair.

Then—when did he appear!? How long had he been here? With so many pairs of eyes, none of them had noticed a thing.

This could not help but put Victor on high alert.

"Young man, you've probably come to the wrong place," said the vampire lord closest to Fulade.

This was a powerfully built vampire councilor, also the vampire lord whose strength was second only to Victor and Amelia.

When the atmosphere in the hall fell into silence, this vampire lord was the first to be unable to restrain his fiery temper and began to demand answers.

Though he seemed reckless, if you noticed his taut body yet poised in a posture ready to flee at any moment, you would understand that his fiery temper was merely a facade.

Fulade paid the slightest attention to this noisy vampire lord, instead sitting in this chair forged of black iron, left leg crossed over his right, toes pointing at the tamed werewolf, tapping from time to time.

His elbow resting on the armrest, his hand rubbing his chin, he watched Victor and the tamed werewolf with keen interest.

Such a scene caused the vampire lord who had questioned Fulade to feel a great loss of face.

But before he could react, Fulade spoke calmly: "Can someone tell me where Marcus is?"

The vampire lords looked at each other, and for a moment no one answered.

"What do you want with Marcus?" Victor asked with a wary expression.

At the same time, he sent a signal to the vampire lords.

"Oh, that doesn't seem to be your concern," Fulade said with a smile as he watched their little movements, not stopping them.

"Young man, you must have heard quite a bit of our conversation earlier. Do you think we'd tell you?"

"Though it's unclear how you sneaked in—but I'm afraid you've come to the wrong place."

As Victor's words fell, a large number of vampire soldiers instantly poured into the hall, surrounding Fulade completely in an instant.

"I originally wanted to have a calm conversation with you all, but since you don't know what's good for you, then you can't blame me."

Looking at Fulade, who remained completely unafraid despite being surrounded by a large number of soldiers, Victor immediately frowned; though he still had misgivings, seeing the advantage in his hands, he hesitated no longer.

Victor looked at Fulade with a ferocious expression and gave the order: "Kill him—!"

As his words fell, these vampires, with speed several times that of ordinary people, raised their weapons and surged toward Fulade to encircle him.

Facing this group of low-ranking vampires who were aggressive and full of murderous intent, Fulade gave a disdainful cold snort: "Who gave you the courage to actually dare lay hands on me?"

Watching the weapons about to fall upon him from above, a strange crimson light merely flashed through Fulade's eyes.

Then the dozens of vampire soldiers swarming toward him let out a miserable scream without any resistance, blood suddenly pouring from their seven orifices as their bodies began to bizarrely swell.

"Ah—!"

"No—!!"

For a time, screams echoed continuously through the hall.

Under the shocked gazes of the vampire lords, the blood within these vampire soldiers' bodies instantly surged wildly.

In but an instant, each soldier, like an inflated ball, instantly swelled to the limit.

Under the frantic surging and squeezing of blood within their bodies, their blood vessels, internal organs, and eyeballs instantly burst, blood continuously pouring from their seven orifices, and their bones also began to break and shatter inch by inch.

In but a moment, large numbers of bizarre cracks appeared on the surface of their skin. "Bang bang—!!" "Bang bang—!!"

With one continuous explosion after another, a sky of blood mist instantly filled the vision of everyone in the hall.

The vampire lords, bathed in the blood-filled air, felt an inexplicable fear begin to sweep through their entire bodies.

Just a glance, and the result—they were all dead! How was this possible.

The vampire lords, deep in shock, instinctively exchanged glances with one another, without any unnecessary words.

"Flee—!"

Driven by fear, someone shouted, and these vampire lords immediately scattered, fleeing toward the outside of the hall.

At this moment, their only thought was to get far away from that monster!

That's right—under a phenomenon they could not comprehend, Fulade was a monster.

"You want to leave? Did you get my permission, gentlemen?"

Fulade uncrossed his raised left leg and slowly stood up, looking through the blood-rain-filled hall at the vampire lords who were trying to flee, and said casually.

As Fulade's words rang out, the passageway connecting to this hall suddenly echoed with a large number of footsteps.

This caused the vampire lords who were trying to flee this place to instantly change their expressions.

However, when they saw who had suddenly arrived, everyone could not help but reveal a hint of joy.

"Amelia, help us hold him off, there's an enemy behind us!"

One of the vampire lords shouted urgently, and the others, seeing this, did not bother to warn her—their sinister intentions were already plainly obvious.

They clearly wanted to use Amelia, who was still unaware of the situation, to stall Fulade and buy themselves time to escape.

Unfortunately, that vampire lord had clearly miscalculated.

As Amelia emerged from the passageway connecting to the hall, when she saw the scene before her, the last trace of hesitation in her heart vanished completely at this moment.

Under the disbelieving gaze of that vampire lord, Amelia raised the crossbow in her hands and pulled the trigger without any hesitation.

With the other party completely unprepared, it instantly pierced through his skull and exited through his body.

Though he did not immediately lose his life, Amelia, following right behind, drew the dagger from her waist, struck at his neck, and killed him with a single slash.

Watching the tumbling head, the remaining few all stopped their fleeing steps in horror.

Because at this moment, their path ahead was also filled with vampire soldiers.

"Amelia, are you crazy!?" a vampire lord said with a look of disbelief.

Looking at the rolling head of the vampire lord before Amelia, as well as the vampire soldiers surging out from several other passageways.

Only then did they realize something was wrong.

Amelia paid no attention at all to the furious gazes of those vampire lords.

Instead, under their incredulous stares, she came before Fulade, knelt to the ground without hesitation, and offered her loyalty.

As if oblivious to everyone's shocked gazes, Amelia lowered her body, her plump, round buttocks raised high, and said to Fulade: "Master~ the guards outside the castle have all been dealt with. How should these people be handled?"

Looking at this Amelia before him, her body lowered yet her plump buttocks deliberately raised high, displaying her proud figure — how could he not be clear about her little thoughts at this moment.

Fulade, for his part, still quite appreciated this aspect of Amelia's character — capable, resourceful, and at the same time decisive enough.
