Chapter 103: Keep a Close Watch on the Ammunition
Waho is a Priest Apprentice, and he is the most promising candidate among this group of Priest Apprentices to become a Priest.
After Deji died, a Priest position opened up, and Waho considers it a certainty that this Priest position will be his.
"The Two-legged Sheep's Inner City looks like it can be taken down. Once this war ends, I will go find Lord Mailun and request that he recommend me to become a Priest." Waho is speaking to a group of apprentices; their task now is just to hand these Rune Bullets with added Runes to the Orcs who will come to collect them in a moment.
"Brother Waho, why do you think these Two-legged Sheep build a city within a city?" one Priest Apprentice asks.
"Hahaha, that just goes to show how lowly these Two-legged Sheep are." Waho laughs and explains, "The reason they build this city is to manifest their own noble status, treating the Two-legged Sheep outside like slaves. Therefore, this race is simply the best race to be used as livestock."
"Exactly! We of the Beast Race would never have such a situation! It is always the strong who are respected!"
Waho waves his hand, signaling his colleagues nearby not to discuss it for now and to listen to him finish.
"You also know that among these Two-legged Sheep, a portion of them possess a special ability. Most of those Two-legged Sheep are the ones fighting us of the Beast Race on the front lines. Especially that Two-legged Sheep named Bansen; his strength was very great. I remember that at the time, neither Priest Maike nor Priest Mailun could gain any advantage against him. In the end, it was only when the High Priest personally took the field that this Two-legged Sheep was resolved, and its soul was collected into a Soul Bead."
A group of Priest Apprentices all show expressions of disbelief upon hearing these words.
"There are such high-level powerhouses among the Two-legged Sheep?"
"If it required the High Priest to deal with it, wouldn't we be mere ants in its eyes?"
Waho looks at the shocked expressions of his colleagues, smiles, and continues, "There is nothing impossible about it. That Two-legged Sheep's strength was indeed very great. I was fortunate enough to have seen it while following Lord Mailun. I saw a Two-legged Sheep holding a bead appear behind that Two-legged Sheep, and most importantly, it appeared out of thin air! At the time, Lords Maike and Mailun were truly no match and could only wait for the High Priest to come. Even when the High Priest arrived, it still took half a day of time to forcefully wear it to death."
"Brother Waho, you can usually go out and see the world with Lord Mailun when there is business, unlike us, who can only stay here and attach Runes to weapons."
"Exactly! Brother Waho, are there any other troublesome Two-legged Sheep?"
Waho says with a smile, "Of course there are! If they were all like those Two-legged Sheep in the Inner City, we would have already taken down the Fourth Defense Zone! However, they were all defeated by our Priest lords using wisdom and strength. After all, they have our people inside. It was only after we reduced their weapon equipment and material supplies that we were able to attack into the Outer City. I remember the look in one Two-legged Sheep's eyes before it died; it was full of unwillingness. It was simply too interesting!"
"Hahaha, those Two-legged Sheep are not as united as our Beast Race, how could they possibly be our opponents!"
"Exactly! Those Two-legged Sheep should just obediently be our livestock!"
Just as the group of Priest Apprentices are gathered together chatting, the soil in the corner of the camp where they are located suddenly moves. Immediately after, the soil in that area sinks, and a Krieg engineer crawls out from inside.
After confirming there is no danger around, this Krieg engineer gives a hand signal to the comrades behind him and goes to check himself if there are any important facilities of the Alien Race that the Emperor spoke of.
This Krieg engineer pokes his head out and sees a group of strangely dressed Orcs in the distance gathered together, chattering away about something.
But this is not what he is concerned about. Upon seeing a pile of wooden crates not far from him, he sees Rune Cannonballs placed inside, with some strange symbols carved on them.
The Krieg engineer estimates the distance, and after confirming the direction, he returns to the tunnel on tiptoe. After explaining the situation to his teammates, the ten Krieg engineers begin to dig a hole following that same direction.
Soon, after the ten Krieg engineers dig to the predicted location, they dig another hole in the ground.
Upon seeing the Rune Cannonballs before him, that Krieg engineer gives a thumbs-up to his teammates behind him.
Waho, over here, is bragging to his group of colleagues about what he will do once he becomes a Priest in the future.
A fully armed Orc guard walks into the camp; it is none other than Mailun's guard.
"Waho! Lord Mailun has an order! He commands you to keep a close watch on the Rune Cannonballs. A group of Two-legged Sheep wearing masks has broken into the camp. They are just like lunatics, fighting our warriors in the camp without fear. We have already lost over 300 warriors just to bring down the firepower of those Two-legged Sheep, but even so, their morale has not collapsed, nor have they thought of fleeing. Lord Mailun feels these Two-legged Sheep are a bit different and specifically had me come to notify you not to let anything happen to the cannonballs." This Orc guard chatters a whole lot of words.
After hearing the words of this Orc guard, Waho nods and says, "Rest assured, with us here, no Two-legged Sheep can escape our eyes!"
"That would be best. You pay attention; I still have to go back and report to Lord Mailun! Also, Lord Mailun ordered me to take 150 apprentices to the battlefield. We still have some advantage in the defense of the Two-legged Sheep's Inner City, but those Two-legged Sheep harassing us are too annoying. To be on the safe side, he specifically had me take 150 Priest Apprentices to stand by." This Orc guard slaps his head and says.
Upon hearing that Priest Apprentices can go to the battlefield, the Priest Apprentices in the camp are all excited.
Because just in these two days, Priest Mailun had taught them some simple Rune attack methods. If they were to really go to the battlefield, those Rune methods they learned could be put to use, and perhaps they could even gain the appreciation of Lord Mailun.
"I'll go! I'll go!"
"Don't fight over it, your seniority is not as high as mine! Let me go!"
"Screw you! Everyone speaks based on ability; who told you about seniority!"
A group of Priest Apprentices begin to fight for the spots to go to the battlefield.
Seeing this scene, this Orc guard has a bit of a headache and says to Waho.
"Lord Mailun said, if they all want to go, then you pick 150 apprentices."
A group of apprentices all look at Waho, expecting Waho to pick them.
"Since Lord Mailun has said so, then I will start picking. Those who aren't picked, don't blame me; this is Lord Mailun's intention."
Waho stands up and says to the apprentices around him.
Immediately after, as Waho picks one apprentice after another, he finally fills the 150 spots.
Although the Priest Apprentices who were not picked are very disappointed, because it was Waho who picked them, and plus this guy might become a Priest before long, they don't say anything.
"It's fine, us keeping a close watch on the cannonballs so they aren't destroyed by the Two-legged Sheep is also a great merit."
After Waho comforts the remaining Priest Apprentices with a few words, he has one Priest Apprentice go to check on the situation of the cannonballs, and this apprentice has no choice but to walk toward the pile of wooden crates where the cannonballs are stored.
