Chapter 1239: Returning to Xiuluo Holy Star (1)
Yingxin looked up at him, her eyes full of anticipation.
"What is it, Brother Perturabo?"
Perturabo turned his face to the side.
"It's... it's a... a small model. I made it myself. It's based on your little house; it has furniture inside, a garden, and... and a little swing."
Leman Russ widened his eyes.
"Perturabo, you actually made a model for our little sister?"
Perturabo glared at him.
"What? Is that not allowed? Besides, this is just a failed product I was going to throw away!"
"Fine, fine, fine."
Leman Russ laughed.
"It's just that I didn't expect you to make something so... cute."
"I was just... just making it casually..."
Fulgrim smiled elegantly.
"Perturabo, you know, the more you say that, the more it shows how much you care."
Perturabo wanted to retort, but he opened his mouth and nothing came out.
Yingxin ran over from beside her grandmother and grabbed Perturabo's hand.
"Brother Perturabo, thank you! I will definitely treasure it well!"
Perturabo's body stiffened slightly, then he gently pushed Yingxin away and insisted stubbornly.
"No need to thank me... it was something I was going to throw away anyway; if you like it, you can have it."
Yingxin, having been pushed away, pouted.
"Brother Perturabo, don't you feel awkward talking like that?"
Perturabo's pupils shrank slightly, and he continued to be stubborn.
"I am telling the truth."
Yingxin looked at Perturabo's averted face and said exaggeratedly.
"Oh~ I understand~"
Just then, Magnus suddenly said.
"They've arrived! They've arrived!"
Everyone looked out the observation window.
In the starry sky, leading the way was a slender warship, carving a graceful arc through the stars.
"Fengchi!"
Leman Russ shouted excitedly.
"It's Jaghatai's flagship!"
Yingxin stood on her tiptoes, trying hard to see the ship clearly.
"Where is Uncle? Why can't I see him?"
Fulgrim picked her up so she could see more clearly.
"Little sister, he is inside that ship. Once the ship is docked, Father will come out."
Yingxin nodded, staring at the ship without blinking.
The ship moved quickly, and the docking was completed.
The hatch of the observation deck opened, and a group of people walked out.
Walking at the very front was Yingzhou.
He wore a simple white robe, and his long black hair shimmered slightly under the lights.
His complexion was slightly more tired than before he set out, and the scars on his chest had completely healed, but one could still see the traces of the great battle in his eyes.
Behind him, Jaghatai wore the Power Armor of the White Scars, a relaxed smile on his face.
"Father!"
Leman Russ was the first to rush up and hug Yingzhou.
Yingzhou smiled and ruffled his hair.
"You've grown taller again."
Leman Russ looked up, his eyes full of excitement.
"Father, you've finally returned! I missed you so much!"
Yingzhou laughed.
"I missed you too."
Fulgrim walked up elegantly and bowed slightly.
"Father, welcome home."
Yingzhou patted his shoulder.
"Fulgrim."
Fulgrim smiled, that smile as bright as sunshine.
"Father is too kind."
Magnus walked over and saluted earnestly.
"Father, are you injured? I sense that your psychic fluctuations are somewhat abnormal."
Yingzhou looked at him, his eyes full of gratification.
"Magnus, your perception is becoming increasingly keen. I did indeed sustain some injuries, but they have already healed."
Magnus nodded, a flicker of worry flashing in his eyes.
"Father, you must rest more. Psychic wounds require time to recover."
Yingzhou patted his shoulder.
"I know. Thank you for your concern."
Perturabo stood at the very back, arms crossed over his chest, the expression on his face still twisted.
Yingzhou walked up in front of him.
"Perturabo, you actually came too?"
Perturabo's face flushed slightly.
"I... I was just waiting for you to finish..."
Yingzhou smiled and patted his back.
"Pertu, I know you were worried about me. Thank you."
"I... I wasn't worried at all..."
Luojia walked over last, bowing piously.
"Father, your return is our greatest joy."
Yingzhou looked at him, his eyes full of warmth.
"Luojia, you have worked hard during this time."
Luojia shook his head.
"Being able to share your burdens is my honor."
Yingzhou walked to Mother Ying and knelt on one knee.
"Mom, I'm back."
Mother Ying looked at him, her eyes full of maternal love.
"It's good that you're back, it's good that you're back. You've lost weight. And you're tired."
Yingzhou held Mother Ying's hand.
"Mom, I'm not tired."
"Still lying. Can I not tell? Go back and get some good rest, let Xiaoxiner keep you company and talk to you, and your mood will improve."
Yingzhou smiled.
"Okay."
He turned around and looked at the little girl standing beside Mother Ying.
Yingxin.
Seven-year-old Yingxin, wearing a pink dress and two small braids, was looking at him with a pair of big eyes.
Yingzhou crouched down and opened his arms.
"Xiaoxiner, Uncle is back."
Yingxin let go of Grandma's hand and threw herself into Yingzhou's arms.
"Uncle!"
Yingzhou hugged her tightly, feeling the warmth of this little life in his arms.
"Uncle, I missed you so much."
Yingxin's voice was muffled as she buried her face in Yingzhou's chest.
"You were gone for such a long, long time."
Yingzhou smiled.
"Uncle missed you too. I'm sorry for making you wait so long."
Yingxin raised her head and looked at his face.
"Uncle, are you hurt? Grandma said that fighting leads to injuries."
Yingzhou paused for a moment, then smiled.
"Grandma is right. Uncle did sustain some minor injuries, but they have already healed."
Yingxin reached out her little hand and gently touched his face.
"Does it hurt?"
Yingzhou's heart trembled violently.
"It doesn't hurt anymore. Once Xiaoxiner touches it, it doesn't hurt."
Yingxin smiled, that smile as bright as sunshine.
"Then I'll touch it a few more times!"
Her little hands touched Yingzhou's face back and forth, making everyone around them laugh.
Leman Russ leaned in.
"Xiaoxiner, touch me too! I missed you too!"
Yingxin smiled and reached out to touch his face.
"Brother Leman, did you miss me too?"
"Of course!" Leman Russ said exaggeratedly, "I missed you so much I even lost weight!"
Fulgrim smiled elegantly.
"Leman, you ate five buckets of rice yesterday, where did you lose weight?"
Leman Russ glared at him.
"That is... that is energy reserve! Do you understand?"
The crowd laughed.
The group left the observation deck and took a Shuttle back to the ground.
Inside the Shuttle, Yingxin sat on Yingzhou's lap, surrounded by a group of Primarchs.
Leman Russ leaned in.
"Xiaoxiner, when we get back, I'll take you to ride my wolf!"
Yingxin blinked her eyes.
"A wolf? A real wolf?"
"Of course!"
Leman Russ patted his chest.
"I raised a particularly large wolf, taller than you! It can take you running everywhere!"
Fulgrim coughed elegantly.
"Leman, it is too dangerous for little sister to ride a wolf.
Little sister, I will take you to play in the garden. I have planted many flowers, all in the colors you like."
Yingxin's eyes brightened even more.
"Really? Are there red ones? Are there yellow ones? Are there pink ones?"
"There are all of them."
Fulgrim smiled.
"Whatever you want, I have it."
Perturabo stood to the side, hesitated for a moment, then said: "Little sister, that model... I put it in your room. You will see it when you go back."
Yingxin jumped down from Yingzhou's lap, ran in front of Perturabo, and took his hand.
"Brother Perturabo, thank you! I will definitely take good care of it!"
"No... no need to thank me... I didn't intend to give it to you originally, but since you want it, you can have it."
Mother Ying sat to the side, watching all of this, her eyes full of maternal love.
"Xiaoxiner, are you happy that so many brothers dote on you?"
Yingxin nodded vigorously.
"Happy! I like my brothers the most!"
She ran back to Yingzhou's side and climbed onto his lap again.
"Uncle, you like me the most too, right?"
Yingzhou smiled and gently flicked her little nose.
"Yes, Uncle likes you the most."
Yingxin smiled contentedly, leaned into his arms, and closed her eyes.
"Uncle, please don't go away for so long in the future, okay? I will miss you."
Yingzhou's heart was touched once again.
He looked down at this little life, looking at her peaceful sleeping face, looking at the smile on the corners of her mouth.
"Okay. Uncle promises you."
The Shuttle landed in the sunset.
