Chapter 1269: Suppressing Sairen Xing (1)

~8 min read 1,479 words

Sairen Xing, a slave planet on the edge of the Keloke Imperium, had its three hundred years of Silence finally broken on this day.

The Sairen race, a species conquered three hundred years ago, had labored for generations on this barren land, mining energy ores to support the Keloke Imperium.

The physical characteristics of the Sairen race were extremely distinct: their skin was silver-gray, and it would take on a metallic luster under the sunlight.

They were slender in build, with an average height of two and a half meters, yet they still appeared delicate compared to the Keloke people, who stood over three meters tall.

At this moment, in the Central Plaza of "Shenkeng Cheng," the largest city on Sairen Xing, millions of Sairen were gathered together, letting out earth-shaking roars.

Three days ago, they had killed every single Keloke official on the planet, leaving not one alive.

They had occupied the Orbital Defense Platform, seized control of the mines and smelters, and released all their imprisoned kin.

The rage that had been suppressed for three hundred years finally erupted at this moment.

On a high platform in the center of the plaza, a tall Sairen was delivering a speech.

He was called Weiketusi, the leader of this rebellion, a former miner leader who had struggled in the depths of the mines for two hundred years.

His three horns were longer than anyone else's, with silver light flickering at their tips.

"Fellow kin!"

His voice spread across the entire plaza through loudspeakers.

"Three hundred years! We have been enslaved for three hundred years! Struggling in the mines every day, being whipped every day, watching our kin die every day! Now, we are going to take all of this back!"

Earth-shaking cheers erupted in the plaza.

"Those Keloke thought we would kneel forever! They were wrong! We have stood up! We killed their officials! We seized their weapons! We are going to let them know that the Sairen are not slaves!"

"Not slaves! Not slaves!"

The shouts of millions were deafening.

Weiketusi raised the energy sword in his hand, which had been captured from a Keloke official.

"They will definitely send troops to suppress us! But we are not afraid! We have one and a half billion kin! Even if we die, we will die with dignity!"

The cheers in the plaza became even more fervent.

Kelake's fleet was the first to arrive at Sairen Xing.

Looking from the Bridge, the surface of this grayish-brown planet was dotted with points of fire; those were the smelters ignited by the rebels.

In orbit, three defense platforms had already locked onto his fleet, but those old weapons were not worth mentioning in his eyes.

"His Highness, the enemy's defense platforms have locked onto us."

The Adjutant reported.

Kelake nodded, his expression calm.

"All ships, fire at will; destroy them."

Eighty Capital Ships opened fire simultaneously.

Energy Beams poured down toward those three defense platforms.

In less than five minutes, all three platforms were reduced to wreckage, exploding silently in the vacuum.

"Prepare the landing forces."

Kelake ordered.

"Deploy drop pods. Kelaken warriors, the first wave goes down."

Five hundred drop pods detached from the ships and plummeted toward the surface of Sairen Xing.

Each drop pod carried ten fully armed Kelaken warriors.

The first wave of drop pods landed in the mining district on the outskirts of Shenkeng Cheng.

The hatches exploded open, and the Kelaken warriors swarmed out.

Greeting them were dense masses of Sairen warriors, holding various crude weapons; some were even just pickaxes and iron shovels.

"Kill them all."

The lead Kelaken warrior let out a low growl and was the first to charge into the enemy ranks.

His Claw slashed through, and the heads of five Sairen flew off simultaneously.

Fresh blood sprayed, staining his carapace red.

He did not stop, continuing forward, crushing an enemy's chest with every step.

The other Kelaken warriors also began their slaughter.

The Energy Guns of the Sairen hit them, leaving only shallow scorch marks on their carapaces.

The melee weapons of the Sairen struck them and simply shattered.

And with every swing of their claws, they took several lives.

Fifty thousand Sairen were like paper before the five hundred Kelaken warriors.

Thirty minutes.

Fifty thousand people, completely wiped out.

The ground in the mining district was soaked with blood, and corpses piled up like mountains. The screams and wails of the Sairen gradually subsided, leaving only the heavy breathing of the Kelaken warriors.

"Continue the advance."

The lead Kelaken warrior ordered; his carapace was covered in the flesh and blood of his enemies, but his expression remained unchanged.

"Target: Shenkeng Cheng."

The second and third waves of landing forces arrived one after another.

Kelake had deployed a total of fifty thousand Kelaken warriors, plus one hundred thousand ordinary Keloke soldiers.

This great army crushed its way toward Shenkeng Cheng.

The defensive fortifications of Shenkeng City were as good as non-existent before the Kelaken warriors.

They tore through the city walls with their Claws and smashed open the gates with brute force.

The Sairen people resisted madly, but their weapons could not penetrate the carapaces of the Kraken warriors at all.

One day and one night.

Shenkeng Cheng fell.

Weiketusi stood on the high tower in the center of the city, watching his own kin being slaughtered.

Blood flowed like a river in the streets, buildings were burning, and there were corpses everywhere.

The Adjutant beside him said tremblingly.

"Leader... let us... let us surrender..."

Weiketusi turned around and looked at him.

"Surrender? Do you think they will accept it?"

The Adjutant fell into Silence.

Weiketusi looked at the sea of fire outside the window, his three eyes filled with despair.

"Three hundred years... the opportunity we waited three hundred years for... just like this..."

His words were not finished.

A Claw pierced through his chest from behind.

Weiketusi looked down at the Claw that had passed through his chest.

He wanted to turn his head to see clearly who had killed him, but his life was fading away rapidly.

The Claw was withdrawn, and his body fell from the high tower.

While Kelake was still slaughtering in Shenkeng Cheng, the fleet of Kesuosi arrived at Sairen Xing.

He locked his target onto the second-largest city, "Ronglu Cheng".

Ronglu Cheng was the industrial center of Sairen Xing, gathering a population of over three hundred million, and was the second-largest stronghold of the rebel army.

Kesuosi directly deployed two hundred thousand Kraken warriors and three hundred thousand Luoke soldiers.

This great army attacked Ronglu Cheng from three directions simultaneously, giving the rebel army no chance to catch their breath.

The battle entered a white-hot state from the very beginning.

The Kraken warriors remained unstoppable.

Their Claws tore apart all enemies, and their carapaces withstood all attacks.

The warriors of the Sairen race fell in rows before them.

But the Sairen people did not retreat.

They built defensive lines with their lives and piled up roadblocks with corpses.

Every inch of land required a heavy price to be taken.

Kesuosi stood in the Bridge, watching the casualty numbers constantly jumping on the holographic screen.

"His Highness, our losses are a bit high."

The Adjutant said cautiously.

"Three thousand Kraken warriors and fifty thousand Luoke soldiers have already been killed in action."

Kesuosi's brows furrowed.

"And the rebels?"

The Adjutant looked at the data.

"At least... at least three million."

Kesuosi nodded.

"Continue."

When the last Sairen stronghold was captured, Ronglu Cheng had already turned into a ruin.

Kesuosi stood in the center of the city, looking at the tragic scene around him.

"Gather all the survivors."

The Adjutant asked.

"His Highness, how should we handle them?"

Kesuosi looked at him.

"Kill half. Keep half."

The Adjutant was stunned for a moment.

"His Highness, this..."

Kesuosi turned to look at him.

"Do you not understand? Kill half, keep half. Let the remaining people watch with their own eyes as their kin are killed, and then tell those cities still resisting that this is the end for those who resist."

The Adjutant lowered his head.

"Yes, His Highness."

The slaughter lasted for an entire day.

Two million five hundred thousand Sairen were escorted to the mines outside the city and made to kneel in rows.

The Kraken warriors stood behind them, their Claws already raised.

At the order.

Two thousand five hundred heads fell to the ground simultaneously.

Fresh blood dyed the entire mine red, shimmering with an eerie red light under the sunlight.

Those surviving Sairen knelt in the pool of blood, their whole bodies trembling.

They watched with their own eyes as their kin were slaughtered, yet they could do nothing.

Kesuosi walked in front of them, looking down at these terrified captives.

"For those who continue to resist, this is the end."
