Chapter 1270: Suppressing Sairen Xing (2)

~6 min read 1,171 words

While Kelake and Kesuosi were engaged in bloody suppression, Keweinuosi locked his target onto "Huiyancheng."

Huiyancheng is the oldest settlement on Sairen Xing, inhabited by approximately two hundred million Sairen.

The rebel forces here are relatively weak, but it is not an easy target to take down either.

But Keweinuosi does not intend to launch a frontal assault.

His ship landed on an open field outside Huiyancheng. He brought only twenty guards and walked toward the city gate.

On the city walls, Sairen warriors watched this Kelokehuangzi nervously, their weapons aimed at his chest.

"Halt! One more step and we fire!"

Keweinuosi stopped his steps and raised both hands.

"I have no weapons. I come to negotiate."

There was Silence on the city wall for a few seconds.

Then, the city gate opened, and a squad of Sairen warriors walked out.

Leading them was an elderly Sairen.

"Keloke, what do you want to talk about?"

Keweinuosi looked at him.

"Talk about peace."

The elderly Sairen sneered.

"Peace? You have killed our kin for three hundred years, and now you talk about peace?"

Keweinuosi shook his head.

"The ones killing you are the Keloke Imperium, not me. I came here to give you a chance."

The elderly Sairen narrowed his eyes.

"What chance?"

Keweinuosi said.

"Surrender. Stop the resistance. I guarantee that those who surrender will not be killed."

The elderly Sairen laughed loudly.

"Will not be killed? You are telling me now that we won't be killed?"

Keweinuosi looked at him.

"I said I won't kill, so I won't kill."

The elderly Sairen stared at him.

"How can I believe you?"

Keweinuosi thought for a moment.

"You have no choice. Your resistance is only temporary. If your actions continue, in the end, only more people will die. But now, I am willing to give you a chance. Your rebellion is nothing more than wanting to change the status quo. Then, as long as you agree to surrender now, your future workload will be reduced by ten percent."

The Sairen resistance leader here, after thinking for half a standard hour, gave an affirmative answer.

The conditions Keweinuosi proposed were simple: stop the resistance, hand over weapons, and accept administration. In exchange, he would not massacre prisoners, would not destroy the city, and would not harm civilians.

"After we hand over our weapons, what will happen?"

Keweinuosi said.

"Continue working in the mines, but the treatment will improve. Ten hours of work per day, with rest days, food, and medical care. Your children can receive an education, and your elderly can enjoy their twilight years in peace."

"You aren't lying to us?"

Keweinuosi shook his head.

"I have no need to lie to you."

"Why are you doing this?"

Keweinuosi thought for a moment.

"Because slaughter cannot solve problems. You have 1.5 billion people; can they be killed off? Even if they were all killed, who would mine for us?"

He paused.

"Besides, only if you live well will mining efficiency be high. Living in fear every day, potentially being killed at any moment—who would have the heart to work?"

"Deal."

Huiyancheng surrendered.

Two hundred million Sairen laid down their weapons and accepted Keweinuosi's rule.

Sairen Xing, Eastern Hemisphere, Nanfengcheng.

This city is situated on the edge of a massive mining pit and is the fourth-largest settlement on Sairen Xing, inhabited by approximately one hundred and eighty million Sairen.

The rebel leader of Nanfengcheng is named Vidas.

"Shenkeng Cheng has fallen."

His Adjutant said, trembling.

"Weiketusi is dead. Ronglu Cheng also fell yesterday, and Prince Kesuosi... killed 2.5 million prisoners."

There was dead Silence in the command room.

Vidas's three horns trembled slightly, and his vertical pupils were filled with despair.

"What about the other cities?"

The Adjutant shook his head.

"I don't know. Communications are cut off. We only received news that Huiyancheng surrendered, and that prince named Keweinuosi promised not to kill anyone."

Vidas was in Silence for a few seconds.

"A promise? Can the promise of a Keloke be trusted?"

No one could answer his question.

Vidas stood up, walked to the window, and felt troubled inside.

Fifty kilometers outside Ashes City, at an abandoned mine.

Kesi took a small airship to detach from the fleet and landed silently in the depths of the mine.

The hatch opened, and Kesi walked out.

Behind him followed three Kalidusi assassins, also disguised as Kraken warriors.

The four of them stood on the abandoned mine, looking at the silhouette of Nanfengcheng in the distance.

"Is the intelligence confirmed?"

Kesi asked.

"Confirmed. The rebel Commander in Nanfengcheng is named Vidas, and he has seventeen Adjutants and military leaders under his command. The Command Center is underground at the original Zongdufu in the center of the city, buried two hundred meters deep, with three access tunnels."

Kesi pulled up the Holographic Map and studied it carefully.

Everything was ready.

"Move out."

Four figures vanished into the night.

Nanfengcheng, the perimeter of the Zongdufu.

This place was originally the residence for Luoke officials, but now it had become the command hub for the rebels.

At the east wall, two Siren warriors were standing guard.

Suddenly, a hand reached out from the shadows and covered the first warrior's mouth.

An energy dagger stabbed into his neck, piercing the spinal cord.

His body went limp and fell to the ground, without even letting out a scream.

The second warrior had just started to turn around when another hand gripped his throat.

The strength was astonishing; he didn't even have time to struggle before his cervical vertebrae were crushed.

The two corpses were dragged into the shadows.

Three minutes later, two "Siren warriors" walked out from the shadows and continued to stand guard.

They nodded toward the darkness.

Kesi and another assassin snuck in from the side, passing through the defensive line without a sound.

Beneath the Zongdufu, at the entrance to the Command Center.

In front of the heavy metal door stood eight Siren warriors.

The ventilation duct grille behind them was loosening silently.

One Kalidusi assassin crawled out of the duct first, drawing two energy daggers the moment they landed.

The eight personal guards didn't even have time to turn around.

The first blade pierced the back of the nearest person's head.

The second blade slit the second person's throat.

The third and fourth people had just turned their heads when they saw two black shadows pounce before them.

Before their weapons could even be raised, energy swords had already pierced their chests.

The fifth and sixth people finally drew their weapons, but two energy swords swung down simultaneously, and two heads flew into the air.

The last two turned to run, but Kesi was already standing at the end of the corridor.

His energy sword swept across, and the two were cut in half at the waist.

Eight corpses lay in a pool of blood.

From crawling out of the duct to the end of the battle, it took less than 5 seconds in total.

"Proceed."
