Chapter 1311: Cleansing the Shattered Star Belt (1)

~7 min read 1,286 words

The central hall of the Nest of the Faithless had now become a slaughterhouse.

Pirates surged in from every direction, their eyes filled with terror; they did not know what was happening, only that they had to run.

But run where?

The docks had already been seized, the corridors were filled with Lamenters Space Marines, and even the ventilation shafts had been sealed.

The entire Nest of the Faithless was like a giant iron barrel, and the Lamenters were tightening the net from all sides.

A Feilin pirate knelt on the ground, hands raised high above his head.

"Surrender! I surrender! Don't kill me!"

A Lamenters Space Marine walked up to him and looked down.

The Feilin's three eyes were filled with pleading.

"Please... I'm just a laborer... I've never killed anyone... I haven't..."

The Lamenters warrior raised his Bolter and pressed it against the pirate's forehead.

"The Emperor does not accept the surrender of Aliens."

The trigger was pulled.

The Feilin's head exploded, and the corpse fell to the ground.

A mutant tried to escape through a ventilation shaft.

As soon as it crawled inside, a Lamenters Space Marine grabbed its leg and dragged it out.

The Chainsword descended, and the mutant was cleaved in two.

A young Feilin knelt on the ground, hands pressed together.

"Please... I'm still young... I don't want to die..."

"Bang!"

Kaloke ran through the corridor.

Behind him came the roar of Bolters and the screams of pirates.

Those sounds were getting closer and closer to him.

"Kaloke! Kaloke!"

A young Feilin rushed out from the side.

"This way! There's a ship this way!"

Kaloke followed him as he turned into a side gallery.

At the end of the side gallery was a small Assault Boat.

It was not large, only twenty meters long, painted dark gray, and docked at a makeshift berth.

The engines were still warming up, emitting a low hum.

"Get on the ship, quick!"

The young man shouted.

Kaloke ran toward the Assault Boat.

But just as he was about to board the gangway, a yellow figure stepped out from the shadows of the side gallery.

This Lamenters Space Marine was not wearing a helmet, revealing a handsome face.

His Power Armor was stained with blood, and he held a Bolter in his hand.

"Run. Keep running."

The young man turned to run.

The Bolter rang out.

The young man's head exploded, and the corpse fell to the ground.

Kaloke stopped in his tracks, standing on the gangway.

He stared at the Lamenters Space Marine, his body trembling slightly.

"I... I want to see your Chapter Master..."

Kaloke's voice was hoarse and trembling.

"I... I've been in the Shattered Star Belt for three hundred years... I've seen many... many..."

The Lamenters Space Marine looked at him.

"And so?"

Kaloke's throat moved.

"So... I know you... you don't kill me... I can... I can help you... I know all the shipping lanes in the Shattered Star Belt... all the treasure caches... all..."

The Lamenters warrior walked toward him.

Kaloke took a step back and bumped into the railing of the gangway.

"I can... I can take you to find those treasures... many... many..."

The Lamenters Space Marine walked up to him and looked down at him.

"Not needed."

"No... don't..."

The Lamenters Space Marine raised his Bolter.

Kaloke closed his eyes.

A gunshot rang out.

The Energy Pistol in Geluke's hand was out of ammunition.

He threw it on the ground and ran toward the back door.

Outside the back door is a narrow passageway leading to the port's emergency exit.

Geluke has walked this passageway countless times; he could find his way even with his eyes closed.

But today, a yellow figure stands at the end of the passageway.

Geluke stops in his tracks, staring at the giant.

"You... who are you?"

The Lamenters Space Marine does not answer.

He simply stands there like a wall, blocking all hope of escape for the Alien.

Geluke takes a step back.

"I... I have money... lots of money... I hid it in..."

The Lamenters Space Marine walks toward him.

Geluke turns to run, but another yellow figure appears in the passageway behind him.

Geluke leans against the wall.

"You... you cannot kill me... I am... I am a merchant... I am not a pirate... I am only... only doing business here..."

The Lamenters Space Marine walks up to him.

"A slave trader is also an Alien."

"No... don't..."

The roar of a Chainsword sounds.

Geluke's screams echo in the passageway, then stop abruptly.

In the slave market, hundreds of iron cages are opened, and the slaves swarm out.

They are of various races, their eyes filled with fear and confusion; they do not know what has happened, only that they must run.

"Run! Run!"

An elderly Feilin slave shouts.

"There is fighting outside! Run while there is chaos!"

The slaves rush toward the exit.

But at the exit, a yellow figure blocks their path.

It is a Lamenters Space Marine, holding a Bolter in his hand.

The slaves stop, their three eyes filled with fear.

"Let... let us pass..." a young Feilin slave says, trembling, "We... we are slaves... not pirates..."

The Lamenters Space Marine looks at him.

"An Alien is an Alien."

He raises the Bolter.

The young Feilin slave kneels on the ground, hands pressed together.

"Please... we are only slaves... we have never harmed anyone..."

Then, the Bolter fires.

The elderly Feilin slave turns to run, but is intercepted by another Lamenters Space Marine.

The Chainsword descends, and his body is cleaved in two.

A Sota slave attempts to resist.

He grabs an iron rod and charges at the Lamenters warrior.

The iron rod strikes the Power Armor and snaps in two.

The Lamenters Space Marine's Chainsword sweeps across, and the Sota's head flies off.

A Lizardman slave curls up in a corner, shivering.

"Don't kill me... don't kill me..."

The Lamenters Space Marine walks up to him and looks down.

"The Emperor does not accept the surrender of Aliens."

The Bolter presses against the Lizardman's forehead.

The trigger is pulled.

The "Drunkard's Haven" tavern has now become a place of death.

Dozens of corpses lie scattered on the ground, blood flowing across the floor, soaking the spilled wine glasses and food.

A few pirates hide behind the bar, shivering.

"What do we do... what do we do..." a Lizardman whispers, "They have come in... we are dead..."

A Sota says through gritted teeth.

"Fight them! We're dead anyway!"

"Fight? How do we fight? Our weapons cannot pierce their armor!"

The Sota falls into Silence.

Heavy footsteps come from the entrance.

A yellow figure appears at the entrance, holding a Chainsword in his hand.

The pirates behind the bar open fire simultaneously.

Energy Beams strike the Lamenters Space Marine's Power Armor, splashing sparks.

The Lamenters Space Marine rushes quickly to the front of the bar, lifts his foot, and kicks the bar away.

The bar shatters, fragments flying everywhere. The pirates hiding behind it are exposed to him.

The Chainsword descended.

The first pirate's head flew off.

The second pirate's chest was cleaved open.

The third pirate's limbs were severed.

The fourth pirate turned to run, but was struck in the back by a Bolter.

The fifth pirate raised an Energy Blade and charged toward the Lamenters warrior.

"Ah!"

The Chainsword and the Energy Blade collided, sending sparks flying everywhere.

Then, the Lamenters warrior's Chainsword severed the Energy Blade and cleaved open the Alien's head.

The last pirate slumped onto the ground, his eyes filled with tears.

"Please... don't kill me... my mother is still waiting for me to come home..."

Then, the Chainsword descended.
