Chapter 1330: Tyranid Attack (2)

~7 min read 1,213 words

A Hormagaunt leaped over the trench, its Scything Talon swinging down.

Gort sidestepped to dodge, pressed his Energy Pistol against the Hormagaunt's abdomen, and fired continuously.

The Hormagaunt fell, but another had already pounced.

Gort was tackled to the ground.

The Hormagaunt's Scything Talon pierced his shoulder, and blood sprayed out.

He let out a scream, and his Energy Pistol dropped to the ground.

"Help... help me..."

Solaris heard it.

He turned, his Chainsword cleaving a Hormagaunt, and charged toward Gort.

But the distance was too great.

Another Gargoyle fired from the sky toward the ground.

Gort's body was struck.

His four eyes remained open even in death, the dark red sky reflected in his pupils.

The battle continued for an unknown amount of time.

Solaris's sense of time had completely vanished; there was only shooting, cleaving, dodging, and shooting again.

His Bolter was out of ammunition and lay on the ground.

Now he had only a Chainsword and his fists in his hands.

The Zerg's offensive suddenly became more ferocious.

From the darkness, two larger Zerg emerged.

They stood over three meters tall, their bodies covered in thick carapaces, their two Boneswords waving constantly, Harvest-ing the lives of the Ashes Aliens.

Tyranid Warriors.

Elite units of the Zerg, each one a killing machine.

The two Warriors charged straight toward Einar.

"Einar! Look out!"

Solaris roared, and at the same time, he was also targeted by a Warrior.

Einar had just finished off a few Hormagaunts when the Warrior reached his face.

The first Warrior's Bonesword swung down; Einar dodged to the side, but the second Warrior had already pounced from the flank.

A Bonesword pierced Einar's abdomen.

The Power Armor was torn, and blood sprayed out.

Einar let out a muffled grunt, his Chainsword cleaving toward that Warrior's head.

The blade cut into the carapace, insect blood splattered, and the Warrior's head was split in half.

But the other Warrior's Scything Talon had already swung down.

Einar's arm was severed.

The Chainsword fell to the ground, buzzing as it spun idly.

Seeing this, Solaris kicked away the Warrior that was pinning him and charged toward Einar, gripping his Chainsword.

But it was too late.

The second Warrior's Bonesword repeatedly pierced Einar's chest.

Einar's body stiffened, and blood gushed from his mouth. His two eyes looked toward Solaris, and his lips moved, as if wanting to say something.

Then, his body was torn in two.

Solaris stopped in his tracks.

He saw Einar's corpse, and saw those two Warriors using their Scything Talons to tear at his comrade's remains.

His mind went blank, and then, rage erupted like a volcano.

"No!"

He shrieked, charging toward the two Warriors.

Solaris's Chainsword cleaved toward the first Warrior.

The Warrior raised its Bonesword to parry, the sound of metal clashing echoing piercingly.

Solaris's strength was not the greatest among the Space Marines, but his rage imbued every one of his strikes with devastating power.

One of the Warrior's Boneswords was severed.

It roared, and the other Bonesword swept horizontally, striking Solaris's side.

The rib section of his Power Armor shattered, and blood gushed from the wound. Solaris staggered back but did not fall.

He steadied himself, and the Chainsword cleaved down again.

This time, the blade bit into the Warrior's head.

Insect blood sprayed, the Warrior's body twitched a few times, and then it collapsed with a boom.

The second Warrior had already reached him.

Its two Boneswords swung down simultaneously; Solaris could not dodge in time, and a wound deep enough to reach the bone was carved into his left arm.

"Emperor!"

He roared, and his Chainsword pierced the Warrior's abdomen.

The Warrior's Bonesword pierced Solaris's shoulder.

The Power Armor shattered, and blood sprayed out.

Solaris did not let go; he turned the hilt with force, churning it inside the Warrior's abdominal cavity.

Zerg blood and fragments of internal organs gushed from the wounds, and the warrior bug's body began to tremble.

Solaris drew his Chainsword and split the warrior bug's skull.

Two warrior bugs, completely annihilated.

He knelt on the ground, gasping for air.

His brain began to blur.

But he did not fall.

Because in his mind, a statue appeared.

The statue of the Emperor.

He had seen that statue countless times, in the plaza of Xiuluo Holy Star, in the sanctuary of the Weepers Chapter, and in the depths of every Space Marine's heart.

The Emperor was clad in golden Power Armor, holding a burning Sharp Sword, his gaze like a torch, overlooking ten thousand worlds.

The Emperor's eyes looked at him, without anger, without pity, only expectation.

As if saying.

"Stand up."

Solaris stood up.

More Zerg were surging over.

Termagants, Hormagaunts, and Pyrovores surged out from the darkness, drowning the earth like an ocean.

Solaris gripped his Chainsword tight, facing the swarm.

"For the Emperor!"

His voice was hoarse, but firm.

"For the Weepers!"

"For Einar!"

The Chainsword swung, and a Termagant's head flew up.

He smashed a Pyrovore's carapace with his fist and kicked away a Termagant's Scything Talon.

New wounds constantly added to his body; his left arm had completely lost sensation, his right leg was hit by a Bio-gun, blood soaked his Power Armor, and his helmet was shattered in half, revealing a face covered in blood.

"For the Emperor!" he roared, as his Chainsword split a Hormagaunt's skull.

"For the Emperor!" he roared, smashing a Termagant's compound eye with his fist.

"For the Emperor!"

The swarm drowned him.

In orbit, a massive warship appeared.

Golden paint, blood drop emblem, the flagship of the Blood Angels, the "Angel".

Behind it, the Blood Angels' fleet filed out.

Sanguinius stood on the Bridge of the flagship, looking at the burning planet outside the window.

His long golden hair glowed slightly under the lights, his wings folded behind his back, his expression solemn.

"Blood Angels, drop. Support our comrades!"

The hatch opened, and the Blood Angels warriors leaped into the drop pods, falling toward the planet's surface.

At the same time, another fleet had just arrived.

Red paint, Thousand Sons.

Magnus stood on the Bridge of the flagship, his red hair particularly striking under the lights, the book in his hand already closed.

"Thousand Sons, go down. Leave the Zerg's brain bug to us."

Eridanus III, Second Defense Line.

The swarm had already broken through the trenches and was advancing toward the third defense line.

The soldiers of the Ash Star Alliance were almost completely wiped out, and the warriors of the Weepers Chapter were also struggling to hold on.

Just then, thousands of drop pods descended from the sky, streaking across the horizon like a meteor shower.

Each drop pod dragged a long tail of fire, crashing into the ground, blasting open huge craters, and releasing Blood Angels warriors clad in red Power Armor.

Sanguinius spread his wings, his golden Power Armor dazzling in the firelight.

He held that Spear in his hand, the blade flashing with golden light under the starlight.

"Blood Angels, attack!"

His voice was like music from heaven, yet carried unquestionable majesty.

"Do not fail the blood of Sanguinius!"

The Blood Angels warriors surged from the drop pods, Chainswords and Bolters firing simultaneously.

The swarm turned into fragments in the attack, flesh and blood splattering.
