Chapter 1331: I Am Proud of You Too

~7 min read 1,326 words

Magnus also landed.

The warriors of the Thousand Sons Legion followed behind him, their red Power Armor particularly striking amidst the firelight.

Their Psionic Shields resisted the Zerg's Psionic Attacks, and Psionic Lightning struck down the Brain Bugs one by one.

"Find the Zerg's Command Node. Psionic saturation, wipe them out."

High-damage, wide-area psionic spells were cast continuously, dealing the first blow to the Tyranids.

Sanguinius spread his wings and charged at the very front.

Every swing of his Spear claimed the lives of dozens of Zerg.

The Scything Talons of the Termagants were severed, the Bio-guns of the Hormagaunts were split open, and the carapaces of the Pyrovores were torn apart.

His speed was too fast, so fast that the Zerg had no time to react at all.

A Warrior Bug rushed over, its two Boneswords slashing down simultaneously.

Sanguinius dodged to the side, his Spear severing the Warrior Bug's head.

Another Warrior Bug lunged from the side; Sanguinius spread his wings, flew up, and kicked the Warrior Bug away, slamming it into a distant rock and shattering its carapace.

"For the Emperor!" he roared.

The warriors of the Blood Angels responded in unison.

"Faithful to the blood of Sanguinius!"

The swarm's offensive was finally contained.

Magnus stood in the center of the battlefield, closing his eyes.

His psionic perception extended outward, covering the entire battlefield.

The Zerg's Brain Bugs were hiding in the darkness, attempting to use psionics to interfere with the Blood Angels' advance.

"Found you."

Magnus opened his eyes.

He raised his hand, and Psionic Lightning shot from his fingertips, carving a blinding trail through the darkness.

From the darkness in the distance came the screams of the Brain Bugs.

One, two, three... hundreds and thousands of Brain Bugs were all struck down.

The swarm's psionic interference vanished.

The Blood Angels' offensive became even more ferocious.

"Brother!" Sanguinius's voice came through the Communication Device, "Well done!"

The corners of Magnus's mouth lifted slightly.

"Continue the advance. Do not give the Zerg a chance to breathe."

Inside the Central Fortress of the Third Defense Line, Ake looked at the Holographic Star Map.

The light dots representing the Zerg were disappearing rapidly, while the light dots representing reinforcements were increasing quickly.

"Commander, the Blood Angels and the Thousand Sons Legion have arrived."

Flavius said.

Ake nodded.

"Notify all companies, coordinate with the reinforcements, and counterattack."

He picked up his Bolter and walked out of the fortress.

Outside the window, the Blood Angels and the Thousand Sons Legion were slaughtering their way through the swarm.

The swarm's offensive had been contained and was beginning to rout.

Ake looked at that sea of red, his eyes filled with excitement.

"Lamenters, counterattack!"

A yellow tide surged out from the fortress, merging with the red tide and crushing toward the swarm.

"For those we cherish, we die with honor!"

After Sanguinius and Magnus arrived with reinforcements, the Tyranid bio-ships in orbit were also attacked by Light Lances and Macro-cannons, eventually retreating temporarily.

After the battle ended, Flavius searched for survivors in the ruins of the Second Defense Line.

He found Solaris among a pile of Zerg corpses.

His Power Armor was already in tatters, his helmet shattered, his left arm was nowhere to be found, and his right leg had been bitten off below the knee.

In his hand, he still gripped Einar's Chainsword, its teeth stuck in the head of a Termagant.

Around him lay dozens of Zerg corpses—Termagants, Hormagaunts, Pyrovores, and two Tyranid Warriors.

Flavius knelt down to check Solaris's vital signs.

No heartbeat, no breathing.

His eyes were closed, and a faint smile played on his lips.

Flavius remained silent for a long time, then said in a low voice.

"Solaris. You fought until the end. I will have someone take your Gene-seed back to Xiuluo Holy Star."

The dark red sun of Eridanus III rose from the horizon, illuminating the battlefield strewn with corpses.

Zerg corpses were piled like mountains, the soldiers of the Ash Star Alliance lay dead across the field, and the warriors of the Weepers Chapter had also lost nearly one-third of their number in the battle.

Sanguinius stood on the ruins of the Central Fortress, looking at that dark red sky.

"Magnus, what are our losses?"

Magnus walked over.

"The Blood Angels have lost about two percent. The Thousand Sons Legion currently has no casualties. The Lamenters... have lost about thirty percent."

"What about the Ash People?"

"The soldiers of the Ash Star Alliance have suffered losses exceeding eighty percent."

At this moment, Aketes walked over.

"Lord Sanguinius, Lord Magnus. Thank you for your support."

Sanguinius looked at him and said with satisfaction.

"No need for thanks. We are in this together."

Aketes asked.

"When does the next wave of Zerg arrive?"

Magnus pulled up the data.

"According to reconnaissance, the next wave of Zerg is expected to arrive in eight hours. The quantity is three times that of this time."

"Rest assured, brother, Horus and Corax are on their way."

A Blood Angels Space Marine walked toward a Lamenters Space Marine.

His Power Armor was covered in Zerg blood, and the blood drop emblem on his chest shimmered in the sunlight.

His name was Kovor, and he was the current Third Company Captain of the Blood Angels.

"Are you with the Lamenters?"

Kovor asked.

That Lamenters warrior raised his head, revealing the blood-dripping heart emblem on his yellow Power Armor.

His name was Lacus, a veteran of the First Company of the Lamenters; his Power Armor was covered in claw marks, and a fragment of a Scything Talon from a Termagant was still embedded in his left shoulder pauldron.

"Yes," Lacus nodded, "Lamenters First Company, Lacus."

Kovor sat down beside him and handed over a canteen of water.

"Drink some. You fought very hard."

Drakus took the canteen, took a large gulp, and handed it back.

"Thank you. You arrived just in time."

Kovor looked at the hill in the distance formed by the corpses of the Zerg.

"Your Chapter Master, Aketes. What kind of man is he?"

The corners of Lacus's mouth lifted slightly.

"He is a good Commander. He led us through the Shattered Star Belt with zero casualties."

Kovor nodded.

"Lord Sanguinius is the same. He never retreats."

A Blood Angels Space Marine walked over.

"Captain, there is a wounded Lamenter over there, his leg was bitten off."

Kovor stood up.

"Take me there."

Lacus also stood up.

"I will go take a look."

They walked toward the location of the wounded soldier.

A Lamenters Space Marine lay on the ground, his right leg bitten off below the knee, fresh blood covering his yellow Power Armor.

"Brother, hold on."

Lacus crouched down and gripped his hand.

"Lacus... I thought... my mission had already ended."

Lacus shook his head.

"It hasn't. Once the reinforcements arrive, we will send you to the rear."

In the distance, Aketes and Sanguinius were standing on the ruins of the Central Fortress, overlooking the entire battlefield.

Magnus hovered in mid-air, his red hair fluttering in the wind, his psychic senses scanning the depths of the starry sky.

Sanguinius turned around and looked at Aketes.

"The Lamenters fought well. The Emperor will be proud of you, and I am also proud of you."

Aketes said.

"Lord Sanguinius, you flatter us; we only did what we had to do."

Sanguinius nodded.

"The next wave of Zerg arrives in eight hours. The quantity is three times that of this time."

Aketes asked.

"What about our Titans and Knights?"

Magnus descended from the air.

"The Tailin Knight House and the Warhound-class Titans are standing by in orbit. Horus and Corax are also on the way."

Sanguinius looked into the distance.

"How are the other defensive lines on this planet?"

"Not very good; some have even already fallen."

"Then that is perfect; take this time to connect all the positions together to form a single whole."

"Yes!"
