Chapter 1336: Bloody Battle of Eridanus (4)
Seeing signs that the Tyranid were retreating, Horus roared.
"All forces, counterattack!"
The fleets of the Iron Warriors, the Luna Wolves, the Blood Angels, and the Thousand Sons poured out all their firepower at once.
The bio-ship swarm fled into the depths of the starry sky; those Zerg still fighting were abandoned and destroyed one by one by the Iron Warriors' firepower.
"The Zerg are retreating!"
The Adjutant shouted.
The corners of Horus's mouth lifted slightly.
"Eliminate their remaining bio-ships."
The Luna Wolves' assault fleet used torpedoes to attack the bio-ships still in the process of withdrawing.
Sanguinius's voice came through.
"Enough, Horus, they have run. Furthermore, the Alien that arrived this time, according to Father's hint, is merely the tip of the iceberg of the Tyranid."
Horus looked at the star map.
The Zerg bio-ship swarm had already vanished into the depths of the starry sky, with only a few scattered ones still struggling in their death throes.
"Fine. We won't pursue."
He turned around to face the officers on the Bridge.
"Notify all ships to cease pursuit. Regroup."
In the orbit of Eridanus III, the corpses of the Tyranid floated in the vacuum.
The wreckage of bio-ships, fragments of tentacles, and the corpses of Zerg combat units were densely packed.
The fleet of the Xiuluo Holy Star moved through them, clearing out the final resistance.
The Iron Warriors' ships lost over thirty vessels, the Luna Wolves lost over twenty, while the losses of the Blood Angels and the Thousand Sons were smaller.
"The Zerg on the ground are also beginning to be cleared."
Magnus's holographic projection said.
Horus nodded.
"That is good."
Sanguinius said.
"We won this battle. But the crisis of the Tyranid has not yet been resolved."
Horus asked.
"What about the losses?"
Sanguinius was silent for a second.
"The Blood Angels lost about five percent. The Thousand Sons had no casualties. The Lamenters lost about thirty percent. The Ash Star Alliance lost over eighty percent."
Horus nodded.
"The Lamenters fought a bitter battle."
Sanguinius said.
"Yes. But their Chapter Master said they held the line."
Magnus asked.
"What shall we do next?"
Horus thought for a moment.
"Rest and refit first. Once Corax arrives, we will discuss the next step."
Sanguinius nodded.
"Good."
Magnus said.
"I am going to the orbit to inspect the Thousand Sons' fleet."
Horus said.
"I am going to find the Ash People."
The laughter of the three echoed through the Communication Device.
On the flagship of the Ash Star Alliance, Modrak stood on the Bridge, watching the Zerg light points vanishing on the Holographic Star Map.
His four eyes were filled with complex emotions: awe, fear, and relief.
"General, the fleet of the Xiuluo Holy Star Alliance... is too strong." The Adjutant's voice was still trembling.
Modrak nodded.
"Yes. Too strong."
The Adjutant asked.
"Will they..."
Modrak shook his head.
"No. Notify all ships to cooperate with the fleet of the Xiuluo Holy Star Alliance. Do not engage in any hostile actions."
The Adjutant nodded.
"Yes, General."
On the Bridge of the *Loyal Soul*, Horus sat in the command chair with a cup of hot tea placed before him.
The holographic projections of Sanguinius and Magnus were still present, and the three were chatting idly.
Magnus asked.
"When will Corax arrive?"
Horus checked the time.
"Probably tomorrow. He resolved some other matters in the Ash Star Alliance."
Sanguinius leaned back in his chair.
"Then we can take a break before tomorrow."
Horus laughed.
"A break? Aren't you going to the surface to see the Lamenters?"
Sanguinius said.
"I am. But first, a cup of tea."
Magnus also laughed.
"When did you learn to drink tea?"
Sanguinius glared at him.
"I drink tea normally, too."
Horus laughed loudly.
"Sanguinius drinks tea. If word gets out, the Zerg will die laughing."
Sanguinius also laughed and said.
"Better they die laughing. Saves us the trouble of fighting."
In the orbit of Eridanus III.
The Raven Guard fleet arrived.
Corax stood on the Bridge, looking at the star sector outside the window, which was floating with Zerg wreckage.
"Father, ahead is the Luna Wolves' flagship, the 'Loyal Soul'. Lord Sanguinius's 'Angel' is also nearby."
The Adjutant reported.
Corax nodded.
"Move in close, notify Horus that I have arrived."
The communication was connected.
Horus's face appeared in the holographic projection, with a smile on the corners of his mouth.
"Corax, you've finally arrived. We've already finished one battle."
The corners of Corax's mouth lifted slightly.
"You fight your battles, I'll handle the cleanup. Those who are slow only get to eat leftovers."
Horus laughed loudly.
"Leftovers? We are fighting the Zerg, not a banquet."
Corax said.
"The Zerg are meat too. Did you finish handling things with the Ash People?"
Horus nodded.
"Finished. They suffered heavy losses, but they are still holding on. What about you? What did you resolve on the border of the Ash Star Alliance?"
Corax leaned back in his chair, his tone relaxed.
"A few disobedient Ash warlords wanted to seek independence while the Zerg were causing trouble, so I helped them make a choice."
Horus raised an eyebrow.
"What choice?"
Corax said.
"Submit to the Xiuluo Holy Star Alliance, or die. They all chose to submit."
Magnus's holographic projection joined in.
"Corax, you are always like this, getting things done without a sound."
Corax looked at him.
"Magnus, are you well?"
Magnus nodded.
"I am well."
Sanguinius's holographic projection also appeared.
"Corax, you've come at the right time. We are discussing the next step."
Corax asked.
"The next step? Isn't the fighting over?"
Sanguinius shook his head.
"They only retreated temporarily; the Zerg are still rampaging within the Canaan Star Alliance. Father says this is just the tip of the iceberg for the Tyranid."
Corax's expression became serious.
"So, we are going to the Canaan Star Alliance?"
Horus nodded.
"Yes, go to the Canaan Star Alliance, destroy all the planets occupied by the Zerg, leave none behind."
Corax thought for a moment.
"What about supplies? Our fleet's ammunition consumption is very high."
Horus said.
"The Ash Star Alliance will provide some supplies, and the supplies from the Xiuluo Holy Star Alliance will also arrive soon. We will finish within two days, and then we depart."
