Chapter 1399: Unbelievably Smooth

~8 min read 1,460 words

Yingzhou stood before the window of the banquet hall, holding a glass of wine in his hand.

Selina's holographic projection appeared at his side.

"His Majesty, Lord Alpharius and Lord Omegon have been abducted and are currently heading toward the Spaceport."

"Have the Kalidusi assassins followed them?"

Selina said.

"They have followed, monitoring the entire process."

"Hmm, prepare to act. Are there any other Alien reinforcements nearby?"

Selina replied.

"There are three small transport ships on standby at the Spaceport berths, registered respectively as reserve diplomatic mission ships for the Sargon Free Territory, the Zelar Commercial Alliance, and the Viridian United Kingdom. Their actual purpose is to carry the hostages for evacuation."

"The engines of the three ships are already preheated and can take off at any time. The twelve Aliens who abducted the hostages are split into three hovercars and are currently converging on the Spaceport. It is expected that the three cars will rendezvous in fifteen minutes to board the ships and evacuate together."

The corners of Yingzhou's mouth lifted slightly.

"Twelve Aliens, three cars, three ships. They have prepared quite thoroughly."

"His Majesty, should we Intercept now?"

Yingzhou set down his wine glass.

"No rush, let them reach the entrance of the Spaceport before acting. Let them think they have succeeded, and then at the very last moment, tell them... you have never succeeded."

"Don't those Aliens find it too smooth? The patrol routes for the guards were obtained by them, the hovercars were 'accidentally' found by them, and the security loopholes in the Primarch Residential Area were 'unintentionally' discovered by them."

"Every pit was dug by me; every step they took was on a spot I had laid out, yet they think they are just lucky."

Selina asked.

"His Majesty, did you anticipate from the beginning that they would abduct the Young Primarch?"

"Anticipating that there would be Aliens who would do this should be basic common sense."

Yingzhou walked back to the wine table.

"During the celebration, security forces are concentrated in the Central Plaza, and the Primarch Residential Area is relatively empty. The Young Primarchs have no combat experience and are the best targets."

"Those Aliens want to grab hostages to exchange for bargaining chips, so naturally, they will pick the soft persimmons to squeeze. I just created a seemingly perfect opportunity for them."

"Unfortunately, they don't know. Alpharius and Omegon may not have as much combat experience as adult Primarchs, but they have grown up together since childhood, and their level of tacit understanding far exceeds what outsiders imagine."

"Even without the Kalidusi assassins, those few Aliens would be no match for them. Letting them cooperate in the act is just to find them some amusement."

Selina asked.

"Do you need your original words to be relayed?"

"No, tell the Kalidusi assassins to act. Bring Alpharius and Omegon back to the banquet hall. Be quick, and do not alert the other Alien delegations at the Spaceport. Bring them directly here after they are rescued."

"Understood, there is one more thing."

"Speak."

"Lord Alpharius and Lord Omegon are currently bound with restraints, with tape over their mouths, and they do look like they have been subdued."

Yingzhou nodded.

"Tell them to break free when the Kalidusi assassins act. Perform a scene of 'rescued Young Primarchs'—panicked, shaken, trembling after being saved by the assassins, and unable to speak. Right, make it look realistic."

"Understood."

Selina's holographic projection dissipated.

Guilliman walked over with a wine glass.

"Father, what was Selina reporting just now?"

Luojia also followed over.

"I noticed the frequency of her data stream flickering faster than usual when she left; it must have been an urgent matter."

Yingzhou looked at Guilliman and Luojia.

"You two, with so many questions, why don't you go ask Magnus?"

Guilliman looked in the direction of Magnus.

Magnus was standing on the other side of the banquet hall, holding a glass of red wine, admiring an oil painting on the wall.

"Magnus definitely knows something, but he won't say. Every time he has that expression, he is just waiting to see us get anxious."

Guilliman said.

Luojia nodded.

"He has always been like this. You ask him, and he smiles. You ask him again, and he still smiles. You ask a third time, and he will say 'Heavenly secrets must not be revealed'."

"Isn't that just asking for a beating?"

Guilliman said.

Luojia laughed.

"You can try, I bet you can't beat him."

"Why would I fight him? I am a civilized person."

Guilliman said.

Yingzhou looked at these two people.

"Since you are so curious, then wait. You will know in a moment."

Guilliman and Luojia exchanged a glance. Guilliman said.

"Father speaks just like Magnus."

"Agreed."

Luojia said.

Yingzhou did not respond and turned to look out the window.

Magnus walked over, holding a wine glass.

"What are you two chatting about?"

Guilliman looked at him.

"Talking about you."

"Talking about what regarding me?"

"Talking about what you are thinking every time you smile," Luojia said.

Magnus laughed.

"Thinking about when you two would come and ask me."

Guilliman rolled his eyes.

"You knew, didn't you?"

"Knew what?" Magnus asked.

"Knew what we were talking about," Guilliman said.

Magnus chuckled again.

"I know, but I won't say."

Luojia shook his head.

"With a personality like yours, you'll get beaten up sooner or later."

Magnus raised his wine glass.

"Before I get beaten up, let's have a drink first."

The three of them clinked their glasses.

The hovercar sped along the streets of Central City.

Alpharius was sandwiched between Aliens, while Omegon was in the car behind, also tied up and also keeping his eyes closed.

The three cars maintained a safe distance, driving toward the Spaceport.

The Alien sitting to the left of Alpharius couldn't help but laugh.

"Everything is going ridiculously smoothly; from climbing the wall to the extraction, we haven't encountered any Intercept. The Patrol Squad timed their rounds perfectly, the hovercar was parked right outside the wall, and even the battery was full. It's as if the heavens themselves are helping us."

Kelawi did not laugh.

"It's too smooth, don't you think?"

"Everything went smoothly beyond belief; from scaling the wall to the extraction, we didn't encounter a single obstacle. The Patrol Squad timed their arrival perfectly, the hovercar was parked right outside the wall, and it even had a full charge. It's as if the heavens themselves are helping us."

"Isn't smooth a good thing? Do you want something to go wrong halfway through?"

Kelawi gripped the steering wheel, his gaze fixed on the road ahead.

"The Xiuluo Holy Star Alliance is no small faction; the Young Primarch has been abducted, so they should have discovered it by now."

"Yet there are no alerts on our Communication Device, there are no unusual movements from the Central City Patrol Squad, and everything is calm at the Spaceport. It is abnormally quiet."

"Maybe they are still celebrating and haven't noticed yet," that Alien said.

"The Xiuluo Holy Star Alliance is no minor faction; they should have already discovered that the Young Primarch has been abducted by now."

"The security system of the Xiuluo Holy Star Alliance cannot be this sluggish. It takes two and a half standard hours from the Primarch Residential Area to the Spaceport, which is enough time for them to discover the hostage is missing, enough time to blockade the roads, and enough time to send out pursuers. Now the Spaceport is right before us, so where are the pursuers? Where is the Intercept? Where are the alarms? There is nothing."

The Alien's smile froze.

"What do you mean?"

Kelawi said.

"I mean that we are going ridiculously smoothly, without a single obstacle, as if someone has arranged it all."

The silhouette of the Spaceport appeared ahead. It was brightly lit, and the berths were clearly visible.

The three hovercars slowed down and drove toward the berth entrance.

As long as they entered the berth, boarded the transport ship, and flew out of the orbit of the Xiuluo Holy Star, the Task would be considered complete.

The Alien accomplice breathed a sigh of relief.

"We're here; regardless of whether it was smooth or not, arriving is what matters."

Kelawi stopped the car and looked at the berths ahead.

Three transport ships were parked there quietly, and there were no Guard around the berths.

The perimeter of the Spaceport was brightly lit, but the inside of the berths was pitch black.

Kelawi spoke suddenly.

"Something is wrong."

Three transport ships sat quietly there, with no Guards around the berths.

The perimeter of the Spaceport was brightly lit, yet the interior of the berths was pitch black.

Kelawi spoke up suddenly.

"Something is wrong."
