Chapter 1416: Sons of the People Liberate Wala Star (2)

~6 min read 1,174 words

Ruike and his party were guided onto the transport ship.

Through the porthole, Ruike saw the land of Wala Star shrinking.

Those mines, those camps, those Orc buildings, all were becoming smaller, finally turning into blurry specks.

The transport ship headed toward orbit; outside the window, a massive warship appeared in view, with a bright red paint job and a Double-headed Eagle Emblem on its hull.

The flagship of the Sons of the People Chapter, the "Sun of Fury," was larger than any ship Ruike had ever seen.

The transport ship flew into the hangar, the hatch opened, and medical personnel pushed stretchers over to carry away the wounded.

Ruike stood at the edge of the hangar, watching the busy crowd, feeling as if everything were a dream; had he really escaped?

Wala Star, Equatorial Plains, Buluo Fortress.

This Orc city-state occupied a vast area, its walls built from Giant Rock and scrap iron, about thirty meters high, densely covered with firing ports and gun emplacements.

The streets inside the city were filled with Orc craftsmen forging weapons and repairing armor.

In the center of the city-state stood a massive iron tower; that was the Chieftain's Wangzuo Ting.

In orbit, the transport ships of the Armageddon Steel Legion landed in the distance.

Gray-black paint, with the Steel Fist emblem painted on the vehicle bodies.

The transport ship hatches opened, and armored vehicles drove out one after another.

"All units, deploy into attack formation."

The voice of Armored Regiment Commander Skoda echoed in the Communication Device.

"First Battalion, frontal feint to draw fire; Second Battalion, flank from the left; Third Battalion, envelop from the right.

Artillery Battalion, suppressive fire, destroy the fortifications on the walls."

The Artillery Battalion's Basilisk Self-propelled Artillery began to fire.

Rune Bullets exploded on the walls of Buluo Fortress, sending debris flying.

The Orc gun emplacements returned fire, but their range was nowhere near enough.

Orc armored vehicles charged out from the fortress gate, but the Steel Legion tanks aimed at them, destroying one with a single Rune Bullet.

The fire from the Orc armored vehicles hit the frontal armor of the tanks, leaving only shallow dents.

"Advance."

Skoda ordered.

The steel torrent crushed forward, Orc armored vehicles were destroyed one after another, and their wrecks burned on the plains.

Orc infantry poked their heads out from behind the walls and fired outward.

The Multi-lasers of the Chimera Armored Vehicles strafed them, and the Orcs fell in rows.

When the steel torrents of both sides collided, the Orcs stepped over the corpses of their companions to rush the tanks, hacking at the armor with Battle Axes and blowing up treads with Hand Grenades.

The rear hatches of the Chimera Armored Vehicles opened, and squads of Armageddon Steel Legion soldiers emerged, beginning to clear out these Aliens that had rushed up.

"Left flank breakthrough! Right flank breakthrough!"

Reports came through the Communication Device.

Skoda ordered.

"Full line advance, do not stop, make room for the Tailin Family!"

In the sky, several Knight Mechs descended, their Combat Rapid-fire Cannons aimed at the fortress walls.

"Fire."

The artillery hit the walls, boulders shattered, and the walls collapsed. The Orc gun emplacements were torn apart like paper under the powerful firepower.

The mechs stepped forward, walking toward the fortress gate.

Inside the fortress, Wangzuo Ting.

Orc Chieftain Gorish sat on a throne welded from the wreckage of a Human warship, with several Orc generals standing before him.

His skin was dark green, two massive Liaya curved upward from his lower jaw, his physique was twice as robust as an ordinary Orc, his muscles were knotted, and his arms were covered in scars.

"Those Two-legged Sheep armored vehicles outside the city, our armored vehicles can't beat them?"

Gorish asked.

A general said.

"They have many tanks, and also iron giants; our armored vehicles were blown up as soon as they charged out."

Gorish stood up.

"Iron giants? What iron giants?"

"Very large iron men, the iron men's cannons are very powerful, the walls were blasted down."

Gorish shouted angrily.

"Trash, all trash."

He walked down from the throne and picked up the giant Rune Battle Axe beside it.

"I'll go see."

Just then, explosions sounded from inside the fortress.

The door to Wangzuo Ting was pushed open, and an Orc officer rushed in.

"Chieftain! Three Two-legged Sheep have come into the city! Wearing red armor! They fell from the sky! They killed many brothers!"

Gorish asked.

"Three? Just three?"

"They are very powerful, brothers rushed up and all died. There is also one who can use Witchcraft, blue fire, the brothers were all burned to death."

"Witchcraft? Those Two-legged Sheep can use Witchcraft?"

The officer nodded.

"Yes, his eyes glow, and with a wave of his hand, our brothers fell."

Gorish walked toward the doorway.

"Lead the way; I want to see what kind of Two-legged Sheep is so formidable."

Half an hour ago, a drop pod smashed through the roof of the fortress's central warehouse, slammed into the ground, and created a large crater.

The hatch exploded open, and Sebastian walked out.

The bright red Power Armor was exceptionally striking in the dim warehouse.

He drew his Chainsword, which emitted a buzzing sound.

Two other Space Marines followed behind him.

One was named Soladin, a Space Marine formerly of the Thousand Sons.

The other was named Kakesi, who transferred from the Blood Angels Legion to the Sons of the People; his Chainsword was longer than a standard Chainsword.

Sebastian could not hide the anger in his heart and roared.

"Fighting for the masses, we shall be immortal!"

"Immortal!"

Outside the warehouse came the sound of Orc footsteps and roars; Sebastian kicked the warehouse door open and walked out.

Dozens of Orc warriors outside were running toward them, holding Battle Axes and large guns.

The lead Orc saw Sebastian and raised his gun to fire.

The attack struck Sebastian's Power Armor, sending sparks flying.

Sebastian raised his Bolter and pulled the trigger.

The bolts exploded among the Orcs, each one taking down an Orc.

Soladin and Kakesi also walked out of the warehouse; Soladin raised his right hand, and blue Psionic Flame condensed in his palm.

The Orcs charged up; Soladin waved his hand, and the Psionic Flame shot out, hitting the first Orc.

The Orc screamed as his body caught fire, the flames spreading to the Orcs beside him, and several Orcs turned into fireballs simultaneously.

Kakesi drew his Chainsword and charged at the Orcs, roaring continuously.

"For the Emperor!"

His speed was so fast that the Orcs had no time to react.

The Chainsword split an Orc's skull, and with a backhand sweep, it severed another Orc's arm; the Orc screamed and fell to the ground.

Kakesi continued to charge forward, his blade dancing through the Orc horde.

In less than ten seconds, all dozens of Orcs had fallen.

Sebastian looked at the corpses on the ground, feeling only the anger rising within him.

"Continue; these Aliens must pay the price for their actions!"
