Chapter 1430: The Orc Fleeing the Broken Bone Empire
Capital Star of the Broken Bone Empire, Iron Tooth Star, Dong Bu Huang Yuan.
This is the most remote corner of the Broken Bone Empire, and the Keta Tribe is one of them, with a population of less than three thousand.
Jiate's skin is lighter than other Orcs, a grayish-green.
His arms are not thick enough, his shoulders are not wide enough, and he is a head shorter than Orcs of his age.
Other Orcs mock him, calling him "Little Tooth," "Weakling," and "Raised by Two-legged Sheep."
Jiate does not care; what he cares about are those discarded mechanical parts.
Jiate squats by the trash heap at the edge of the tribe, rummaging for things he can use.
A twisted steel plate, a few broken wires, a gear that can still turn, half a solar panel.
He puts these things into a sack, carries it on his shoulder, and walks toward his shack.
The shack is at the very edge of the tribe, far away from the dwellings of other Orcs.
"Jiate!"
A voice comes from behind.
Jiate stops and turns around.
Three Orcs walk toward him; the leader is named Golong, the strongest young Orc in the tribe.
His skin is dark green, his Liaya are long and thick, and his muscles bulge against his leather armor.
He walks up to Jiate and looks down at him.
"Scavenging again? What can those pieces of scrap iron of yours do? Build a starship?"
The two Orcs beside him laugh out loud.
Jiate does not speak; he carries the sack and tries to walk around them.
Golong reaches out to block him and says with a loud laugh.
"Don't go yet. I heard you built a starship? Where is it? Let us see."
"It's not a starship, it's an airship, capable of short flights in space."
Golong laughs loudly.
"Fly? Can those pieces of scrap iron of yours fly? Have you been infected by the Two-legged Sheep? Is your brain broken? Only our Rune warships can fly!"
Jiate does not retort, and Golong gives him a shove.
Jiate falls to the ground, and the parts in the sack scatter everywhere.
"Look, this is his treasure."
Golong kicks the parts and sneers.
"A pile of trash. King Gokazi is going to fight the invading Two-legged Sheep. As the shame of the Beast Race, don't you dare participate in the battle and lose face for our tribe!"
After saying this, Golong leaves with the two Orcs.
Jiate squats down, silently picks the parts back into the sack, and walks toward the shack.
Jiate pushes open the door of the shack and walks in.
Inside, it is piled with various mechanical parts, tools hang on the walls, and the floor is covered with hay.
A small airship is parked in the corner; the airship is not large, about 10 meters long and 4 meters wide.
The hull is pieced together from steel plates with dense welding marks, a thruster is mounted at the tail, and there are folding wings on both sides of the hull.
Jiate puts down the sack and walks over.
He touches the hull of the airship, feeling the coldness of the metal; he spent thirteen years building this airship.
In thirteen years, he has rummaged through every trash heap around the tribe, stolen parts from abandoned mines, and picked up discarded waste from passing caravans.
Other Orcs mock him, saying he is wasting his time building a pile of scrap iron.
But he only wants to leave, to leave this tribe, to leave these compatriots who mock him, to leave this world that only knows how to kill and plunder.
He wants to go find other civilizations, to see their technology, and to learn their knowledge.
Beside the airship sits a wooden crate containing the technical data he has collected from various places.
Jiate climbs onto the airship, sits in the cockpit, and checks the devices inside.
Everything is normal; he climbs down and begins to move supplies onto the airship.
Dry rations, water, tools, and that box of technical data.
He ties them down with rope to secure them.
A horn sounds in the tribe.
It is the signal for assembly; Jiate does not want to go, and the people in the tribe do not want him to participate either.
He continues to move supplies.
At the center of the tribe, the meeting ground.
The one who came is the tribe Chieftain Ge Ta, standing on a high platform, shouting to the Orcs gathered below.
"Compatriots of the Broken Bone Empire! Those Two-legged Sheep have attacked! Now, they are heading toward Iron Tooth Star!"
The Orcs roar.
"Kill them! Kill them!"
Ge Ta raises his hand, signaling for silence.
"The King has issued an order: all tribes, all warriors, must participate in the battle. Take out your weapons, drive out your war chariots. We must let those Two-legged Sheep know that the Broken Bone Empire is not to be trifled with!"
The Orcs roar again.
Golong stands in the crowd, raising his fist.
"Kill the Two-legged Sheep! Kill the Two-legged Sheep!"
Jiate is in front of his shack, making his final preparations.
The airship was tied full of supplies, and the thrusters were preheated.
Jiate climbed into the cockpit, fastened his seatbelt, and pressed the start button.
The thrusters emitted a roaring sound, the airship body vibrated, and the exhaust pipes spewed flames.
The Orcs in the Buluo heard the roaring sound and saw Jiate's airship rising into the air.
Golong was the first to see it.
"Jiate! That piece of trash! He is really running away!"
Other Orcs saw it too and shouted one after another.
"Jiate! Where are you going?"
"Coward! Running away as soon as the Two-legged Sheep arrive!"
"Get lost! You coward!"
Jiate pulled down the control lever, and the airship rose upward.
Golong picked up a stone and threw it toward the airship.
The stone missed, fell down, and hit an Orc on the head.
Chieftain Ge Ta stood on the high platform, watching that airship fly higher and higher, further and further away.
"That piece of trash, it's fine that he left, it saves him from being an embarrassment here. Ignore him! We have more important things to do! Prepare for battle!"
The Orcs shouted in unison.
"Battle!!!"
On the other side, Jiate's airship flew through the twilight, soon breaking through the atmosphere and entering space.
"I actually succeeded! I am simply amazing!"
Jiate happily turned on the receiving device on the airship to search for signals.
Static noise came from the radio, with occasional sounds, but they were unclear.
He turned the knob and continued searching.
"... Xiuluo Holy Star Alliance... fleet... liberation... Human..."
The intermittent sounds were the language of the Two-legged Sheep; Jiate could not understand them, but he memorized those pronunciations.
Jiate whispered to himself.
"I must avoid the fleet of the Xiuluo Holy Star Alliance to prevent them from destroying me as an airship coming to scout."
