Chapter 442: Helpers
Ninth Defense Zone Outer City Headquarters.
Angron had just finished the tedious work tasks at hand; he stretched his back extensively, then stood up with a sense of relief and slowly walked out through the thick, heavy doors of the headquarters building.
Just at this moment, he suddenly caught sight of a familiar figure walking slowly in his direction.
Taking a closer look, it was Lu Zhenda!
Seeing this, Angron hurried forward, lowered his head slightly, and asked Lu Zhenda in a tone tinged with confusion: "Mr. Lu Zhenda, why have you come here? Are you here to look for Jack?"
Lu Zhenda shook his head gently, raised a hand to rub his slightly sore eyes, and only then cast his gaze toward Angron, speaking slowly: "No, I am not looking for Jack this time; I have come specifically to find you."
Hearing this, Angron was taken aback, a look of slight confusion appearing on his face, and he subconsciously repeated: "Find me?"
However, Angron did not continue to press the matter; instead, he invited Lu Zhenda back to his office, and sensing Lu Zhenda's emotional fluctuations at this moment, he spoke first.
"Mr. Lu, you seem to be under a lot of pressure right now. Is there anything I can help with?"
"It's nothing, I've just been dealing with quite a few things lately."
Lu Zhenda said, lightly stroking his forehead with his right hand, then looked at Angron and stated the purpose of his visit.
"Regarding the 46th Legion, before your father left, he ordered the 46th Legion to begin pushing forward, especially at No. 7 Position, to rebuild defensive fortifications at a location 70 kilometers from the Extreme Cold Zone."
Hearing Lu Zhenda say this, Angron also nodded and replied.
"I know about this; Father told me before he left. So, why are you here this time?"
"It is like this: before your father left, he told me that if I needed help here, I could find you and have you bring a child named Horus to me."
Angron had a moment of realization, looked at Lu Zhenda's slightly weary face, and said.
"I understand. I will bring him to see you in a while."
"That would be wonderful. Next, as the 46th Legion begins to advance the front line, I will be busy again. Although I have two assistants, if that child comes, it will relieve quite a bit of pressure."
Having witnessed the learning abilities of Vulkan and Angron, Lu Zhenda had great trust in any child mentioned by Yingzhou.
Although he was also curious why they would call him their father, he did not ask Yingzhou. At the very least, Angron and Vulkan were indeed very similar to Yingzhou in physique, especially Vulkan, who had truly surpassed his master.
Ninth Defense Zone Survivor Settlement Area.
Ever since Angron had calmed and stabilized the emotions of the survivors here last time, only a portion of the logistics personnel remained.
Furthermore, this place had currently become a temporary location for storing supplies being transported from the Ninth Defense Zone to the New City-State.
Among a group of busy soldiers, a tiny figure appeared particularly conspicuous, but these soldiers had already grown accustomed to his presence.
"Horus, such a heavy crate, you actually moved it over so easily?"
Tan Xiaotong looked at the bald child in front of her, who was carrying a crate nearly as tall as himself, and said in a surprised tone.
"It's nothing. If it weren't for the fact that my body is still small, these would all be minor issues."
After the bald child set down the one-meter-tall crate, he wiped his nose with his right hand and said in an old-fashioned tone.
As he spoke, the bald child walked over to Ying's mother, who was packing some loose supplies, and his voice was noticeably softer than before.
"Grandmother, please take a rest. Let me help you finish the remaining work."
Ying's mother looked at the child, who had already reached 1.1 meters in height in less than a month, and said with a kind expression.
"Horus, I've only just started; it's no trouble."
Tan Xiaotong was off to the side, sticking labels on the packed supplies and using Spiritual Power to inject the Spiritual Locks on the supply crates. Seeing the tone Horus used with Ying's mother, she said with some emotion.
"It feels like Horus only shows a bit of a child's demeanor when he is in front of you."
Ying's mother looked down at Horus and asked in a puzzled tone.
"Does he?"
Just then, a medical Xiunu dressed in black robes walked hurriedly into the camp, came to Horus and Ying's mother, and cast her gaze toward Tan Xiaotong not far away.
Feeling a bit unnerved by being stared at, Tan Xiaotong left the area while talking to herself.
"Uh... I'll go see if there are any supply crates that forgot to have Spiritual Power injected."
After Tan Xiaotong left, the medical Xiunu withdrew her gaze and whispered to Horus.
"Lord Horus, Lord Angron asked me to bring you to see him; he has important matters to discuss with you."
Upon hearing the medical Xiunu's words, Horus pointed his index finger at himself.
"Me? Angron?"
"Yes."
After receiving a definitive answer, Horus looked toward Ying's mother. Sensing Horus's gaze, Ying's mother spoke up.
"Go ahead. Angron must have something very important to find you for; it would be best if you can be of help."
Horus nodded and said to the medical Xiunu.
"Alright, lead the way."
Ninth Defense Zone Military Headquarters.
"This is Horus?"
Lu Zhenda looked at the 1.1-meter-tall Horus, then looked suspiciously at Angron beside him; the two of them were now at two extremes in terms of height.
"Yes, Father said that he would be able to help, and perhaps even do better."
Angron explained from the side. Regarding Horus's height, he found it inconvenient to say much; after all, Horus had been at home for less than a month, and in a while, it would not look so incongruous.
"Are you Mr. Lu Zhenda? My father has often mentioned you in front of me, saying that you are one of his few close friends and his solid backing."
Horus looked up at Lu Zhenda and said in an old-fashioned tone.
However, the words he spoke caused Angron, who was standing to the side, to glance at him inadvertently.
Had Father said these things at home? It seemed not. He spent about the same amount of time at home with Father as Horus did; why had he never heard Father praise Mr. Lu Zhenda like that?
Lu Zhenda did not pay much attention when he heard Horus say this; instead, he moved a chair over from the side and said to Horus.
"Since Yingzhou has decided this, he must have his own reasons. Come, let us begin."
Seeing that Horus and Lu Zhenda had already begun processing documents, Angron stood up to take his leave and departed the Military Headquarters.
After returning to the Outer City, Angron's heart suddenly stirred, and he wondered if Yingxin seemed to be at a nearby school, so should he go over and take a look?
After all, he hadn't really spent much time with the little one these past few days, and he could take the opportunity to see how the situation at the Outer City schools was currently.
Hmm, he was just inspecting the situation at the Outer City schools, and checking on the little one while he was at it.
