Chapter 482: The Fall of the Frost Clan (1)

~7 min read 1,268 words

"Leader, we still have soldiers; your subordinate is willing to cover the retreat. Please, Leader, withdraw to our nation and seek aid from your father. We..."

Seeing the bitter expression on the Frost Clan leader's face, Chadongjia hurriedly spoke to persuade him.

Upon hearing Chadongjia mention his father, the Frost Clan leader felt a deep bitterness within. Recalling that father who cared nothing for him, he slowly shook his head and said with a tone of resignation.

"Chadongjia, it won't happen. The Feng Qi Xing Alliance will not let my father intervene. Besides, I am merely an illegitimate son of my father; he would not offend a behemoth like the Feng Qi Xing Alliance for my sake."

Seeing that Chadongjia did not fully grasp his meaning, the Frost Clan leader did not explain further, but instead spoke to Chadongjia.

"Chadongjia, are you willing to fight side by side with me?"

Seeing that the Frost Clan leader had already made his choice, Chadongjia no longer hesitated. He knelt on one knee and said to the Frost Clan leader in a sincere tone.

"Respected Leader, it is my honor to be able to fight side by side with you."

The Frost Clan leader looked toward the Frost Great Shaman at the side once more, saying nothing, just staring fixedly at the Frost Great Shaman.

The Frost Great Shaman, feeling a bit unnerved by the stare, saw Chadongjia looking at him with ill intent. Ignoring his own Ice Bead that had already turned to dust, he spoke in an equally sincere tone.

"Leader, I will likewise fight side by side with you, for the glory of the Frost Clan!"

Hearing the Frost Great Shaman say this, the Frost Clan leader finally shifted his gaze. He reached out and pulled the two of them in front of him, saying with deep emotion.

"Very well, let us make our final stand and let those Human troops know the strength of our Frost Clan!"

The expressions on the faces of Chadongjia and the Frost Great Shaman were somewhat different; Chadongjia was full of excitement, while the Frost Great Shaman looked grave, his eyes scanning the surroundings.

The Frost Clan leader led the two down from the Frost Lookout and saw those tall Human warriors clad in blue and white Armor already charging out of the thinning Frost Mist with their troops, launching a slaughter against the Frost warriors outside.

Energy surged around the Frost Clan leader. A flash of resolve crossed his eyes, and he said in a resonant, powerful tone.

"Warriors of the Frost Clan! We have no way back. I will stand with you to resist the invaders!"

Fuderi saw several distinct energy fluctuations among the Frost Aliens; without needing to think, he knew these must be the leaders of these Aliens.

He said to the several War Dog Space Marines beside him.

"You few, come with me; we will eliminate the Alien leaders."

Subsequently, Fuderi said to the other War Dog Space Marines over the communication channel.

"Randall, you take the other brothers and continue the assault on the front lines!"

Randall's voice soon came through the communication channel.

"Understood."

Fuderi lifted a shivering Frost Alien, exerted force with his left hand to snap its neck, then tossed it aside and roared in a low voice.

"This is the last of the Aliens' forces. As long as we wipe them all out, we will achieve victory! Kill!"

The 5 War Dog Space Marines following Fuderi saw this and answered in unison.

"Kill!"

Extreme Cold Zone, Frost Kingdom.

As the only general left behind to guard the kingdom, Sikacheng felt a sense of unease in his heart at this moment.

The massive energy fluctuations that had just come from a Wide Snowy Plain behind several snow-capped mountains had plunged the residents of the Frost Kingdom into a panic, but Frost Shamans left behind soon came out to explain.

They claimed this was a Ritual Array being used by the Frost Great Shaman to deal with the Human troops, telling everyone not to be afraid.

At the time, Sikacheng had also believed the words of these Frost Shamans, but only a few minutes after that energy fluctuation arrived, it began to weaken. Furthermore, Sikacheng could sense a new type of energy appearing within those fluctuations, an energy that gave him a feeling of total destruction.

To dispel his own inner doubts, Sikacheng dispatched a squad of Frost Sentinels and ordered more men to be added to the city walls.

Before long, the Frost Sentinels who had gone to scout the situation rode their Cuankui to the foot of the city wall and shouted loudly.

"Urgent military intelligence! We have urgent military intelligence to report to General Sikacheng!"

Sikacheng immediately met with this squad of Frost Sentinels, only to see that the Frost Sentinels all wore expressions of terror, as if they had seen some terrifying monster.

The Sentinel Captain saluted Sikacheng and said in a hurried tone.

"Report to General Sikacheng, the Leader and the others have engaged in close-quarters combat with the Human troops and are already at a disadvantage. I fear that before long, the Leader and the others will be completely wiped out!"

Hearing this news, Sikacheng felt as if struck by a bolt of lightning; his head buzzed, and he did not know how to accept such a thing.

The Leader had failed? They had taken the elite of the Frost Clan, including the Frost Hunters, the Great Shaman, and others, and now only some new recruits were left on his side.

Moreover, judging by what this Sentinel Captain meant, their Frost Clan was being crushed by a group of Humans in the Extreme Cold Zone, on their own home turf!

For a moment, Sikacheng fell into a dilemma. Should he lead troops to save the Leader? If he led his troops to save the Leader, it seemed that with these new recruits of the Frost Clan, he wouldn't be able to save them anyway.

But if he didn't save them, then...

Just as Sikacheng was frowning and pondering, a melodious bell toll rang out from the palace. The sound was very long and carried a sorrowful emotion, infecting every member of the Frost Clan.

"This... this is the bell tolling for the Leader's passing!"

Upon hearing this bell, Sikacheng's expression changed abruptly, and his voice rose several notches.

This meant that the current leader of the Frost Kingdom was already dead, killed by those Humans.

Thinking that those Humans could find their way here in such a short time, Sikacheng's expression turned very ugly. He immediately summoned his officers of the rank of Chiliarch and above.

"The Leader has died in battle. From now on, you are responsible for the defense of the city walls. That Human unit will certainly not leave just like this; they intend to exterminate us all!

Gather all the new recruits capable of fighting and distribute weapons to them."

At this moment, a Chiliarch spoke to Sikacheng.

"But, how can we rely on our new recruits to stop the Humans who defeated our elite troops?"

Sikacheng nodded and said to the officers.

"Of course, I will also head to the palace to find the Leader's wife. The Leader's wife must have left behind a contingency. After all, the Leader was the offspring of our King, even if..."

Having said this, Sikacheng stopped speaking. He paused before continuing to his officers.

"Just do as I say; at the very least, we must hold on."

The officers under Sikacheng's command immediately answered in unison.

"Yes!"
