Chapter 495: Angron Heads to the New City-State (1)
Border of the Fifth Defense Zone.
"Daikeli, are you sure this location can avoid interference from the energy force field?"
Arcs of electricity danced at Antinuoya's fingertips, and her purple robe snapped in the gale of the crystal mountain range.
The black-robed figure in front of her was calibrating a two-meter-tall rhombic crystal, its surface rippling with liquid lightning.
Daikeli raised the arm beneath his robe, which merged into the rhombic crystal like a shadow, causing light spots emitted by the crystal to swirl around them.
"The resonance frequency generated by this Elemental Giant Rock differs from the main pulse of the Rainbow Bridge by 0.3 Hertz."
Daikeli did not answer Antinuoya's question; instead, after placing the Elemental Giant Rock, he spoke in a stiff tone.
His voice sounded like the grinding of rusted gears, which made Antinuoya feel a sense of boredom.
"I advise you to talk to him less; you know what his personality is like. If you want to chat, you can find me."
Danbaifan said with a frivolous tone, his hands placed behind his head.
"Hmph, then I'd rather just watch Daikeli."
Antinuoya couldn't help but roll her eyes and said irritably.
"Look at you, I..."
Before Danbaifan could finish his sentence, the frivolous expression on his face vanished instantly; he stared into the distance and spoke in a solemn tone.
"Three o'clock direction!"
His cyan pupils contracted into vertical slits, "There is a scent of metal corrosion."
Before the words had even faded, Danbaifan and Antinuoya instantly elementalized their bodies to protect Daikeli.
Three silver-white light lances tore through the air and struck a wind wall ten meters from the crystal; the two different energies collided, sparking a wave of fluctuations.
Ten Cyberk Warriors appeared, wearing silver-white clothing and encased in pitch-black armor that refracted iridescent halos.
The lead Cyberk Warrior raised the pulse cannon on his armor, the muzzle unfolding to reveal six rotating energy rings: "High-purity elemental source detected, executing collection protocol."
Antinuoya transformed into a lightning storm and soared into the sky, thunderclouds gathering above her head.
Seven thunder spears pierced three sets of armor; the pitch-black armor melted into liquid and dripped down, only to re-aggregate into mechanical hounds the moment it touched the ground.
Danbaifan's wind blades sliced through the energy force field, and the cyan airflow carried crystal debris to form a tornado, but he saw the mechanical hounds open their jaws, a dark red anti-elemental force field gathering deep in their throats.
"Careful!"
Daikeli suddenly threw out a chain, hooking the back of Danbaifan's collar.
The moment the black robe was lifted, Antinuoya caught a glimpse of Daikeli's body already elementalized, turning into a shadow.
Just then, the Elemental Giant Rock erupted with a sun-like brilliance, enveloping the ten Cyberk Warriors.
Daikeli spoke to Antinuoya and Danbaifan in a flat tone.
"The Elemental Giant Rock will only trap these Cyberks temporarily; their anti-elemental force field will soon break the spell of the Elemental Giant Rock."
"Then what should the two of us do?"
Antinuoya's pale purple pupils watched the Cyberks shrouded in light, her tone urgent.
"Run. We cannot deal with them. Tell the Temple that the Cyberks have infiltrated."
Having said that, Daikeli's body turned into a black shadow and flew toward the Elemental Land.
Danbaifan and Antinuoya exchanged a glance, then quickly elementalized their bodies and followed behind Daikeli.
Landing Pad of the Ninth Defense Zone Military Region.
Yingzhou and Angron were standing together, their tall figures making everything around them appear quite miniature.
Angron reached out his broad palm from beneath his brown robe, rubbed his nose, and said to Yingzhou.
"Father, why do you want me to receive my descendants? Wouldn't it be enough for them to report to you after completing their task?"
At this moment, Yingzhou was still feeling the heartache of his lost Faith Value; providing remote support for thirty War Dog Space Marines was still difficult for him to bear at his current level.
Converted, these Faith Values could have at least allowed him to expand his troop limit by another ten or twenty thousand.
However, at least the Frost Alien Race in that Extreme Cold Zone had been wiped out, so it wasn't a total loss.
Upon hearing Angron's inquiry, Yingzhou put away his wandering thoughts, gave a light cough, and said.
"Ahem, Angron, you must know that they are your descendants, and you must be responsible for all their actions. Tell me, what was your first impression of your descendants?"
Angron looked at Yingzhou in confusion; just a moment ago, there had been a flash of awkward fluctuation in his father's emotions, but it had vanished afterward—was it just his imagination?
Hearing Yingzhou ask him this, Angron pondered for a moment before replying.
"Their attitude toward me is like that of children yearning for recognition. I do not reject their appearance, but they seem to have some psychological issues. Hmm... since Father has said to let me be responsible for my descendants, I believe their mental health is equally important."
Yingzhou raised an eyebrow, looking at Angron, who was analyzing his descendants' behavior with such seriousness. His thoughts raced, but in the end, they turned into words of encouragement.
"Phew, seeing that you can think so much for your descendants, I am relieved."
Seeing Yingzhou let out a long sigh, Angron hesitated for a few seconds before asking.
"Father, am I really so unreliable in your eyes?"
"What are you saying? I am relieved for your descendants... uh... by the way, I heard you plan to go to the New City-State. Are you going to check on the construction progress there?"
Regarding Yingzhou's sudden and stiff change of subject, Angron did not say much; after all, this wasn't the first or second time his father had done this. His father always had some strange ideas, and he was already used to it.
"All reports on the New City-State are displayed on paper and in images."
Angron looked at the busy staff in the distance and said in a calm tone.
"But you once said that one must personally experience the changes in the residents under these decisions to find the shortcomings. What I truly want to see are the mortals reborn from the ruins. Whether they have become accustomed to their current lives."
Hearing Angron say this, a smile appeared on the corner of Yingzhou's mouth. He patted Angron on the shoulder and said in a relaxed tone.
"I am very happy that you can think this way. Keep it up; in the future, you will help me more, for the sake of Human Civilization, and for every individual who makes up this Human Civilization.
It's just that Yingxin might miss you these few days."
Mentioning Yingxin, Angron touched his bald head with his right hand, a smile appearing on his face, and his tone became somewhat gentle.
"There is no other way; after all, I still have to go to the New City-State. I can only let the little one suffer for a few days. However, with Horus there, she won't be too lonely."
