Chapter 658: Battle at the Outer City of the Third Defense Zone (2)

"Damn it! They can teleport!"

A Human Alliance soldier saw the laser beam being deflected within the energy force field and couldn't help but curse under his breath.

The humanoid Zerg suddenly appeared right before his eyes, its bone blade swinging down rapidly; although the Human Alliance soldier made a blocking motion, he was still sliced in two by the humanoid Zerg's bone blade.

"Alien! Where are you looking!"

Just as this Human Alliance soldier was being cut in two, purple electric arcs crackled over Linxin, and his figure appeared at lightning speed behind the humanoid Zerg, his spirit pattern combat knife slashing out rapidly as purple electric arcs exploded between the blades.

This humanoid Zerg immediately deployed an energy force field to resist Linxin's slash.

Seeing his slash blocked, Linxin increased his force and hacked down again, while several of Linxin's other teammates attacked the humanoid Zerg with various weapons.

They knew clearly that their attacks would not be effective, but as long as they could allow Linxin's attack to succeed, they would have already won!

After all, Linxin had been praised by the Emperor! He would surely be able to turn the tide like an Emperor's Angel and eliminate the humanoid Zerg before them!

After blocking Linxin's attack, the humanoid Zerg casually stabbed another Human Alliance soldier through the chest with its blade.

Even until the moment of death, this Human Alliance soldier was desperately launching attacks at the humanoid Zerg.

"Lao Li! Alien!!!"

Seeing his teammate's sacrifice, Linxin's eyes were filled with rage, his pupils gradually occupied by purple light, and the purple electric arcs jumping on his body became denser.

Linxin launched an attack at the humanoid Zerg again; this time, his speed reached the extreme, his tactical boots leaving deep footprints on the ground.

The humanoid Zerg also sensed danger, shook off the Human on its bone blade, and just as it turned its head, it saw the combat knife flickering with purple electric arcs already before it.

"Sshhh!"

Linxin's spirit pattern combat knife swept a slash in front of this humanoid Zerg, and as the purple electric arcs crackled and flashed, the humanoid Zerg's head was directly severed.

Another humanoid Zerg saw this and immediately launched an attack on Linxin; its humanoid body was covered in pitch-black carapace, and the bone spurs extending from its spine were dripping with green venom.

A Human Alliance soldier's pupils suddenly turned white, and the moment the humanoid Zerg passed by, a shockwave struck this humanoid Zerg.

Where the shockwave swept, the humanoid Zerg's energy force field rippled, and Private First Class Zhang Meng seized the opportunity to pull the trigger of his laser gun; this time, the laser beam passed right through the humanoid Zerg's energy force field, hitting the humanoid Zerg's back directly.

The humanoid, struck in the back, let out a painful hiss, its back burned with holes by several laser beams.

"Good chance!"

Seeing this humanoid Zerg suffer heavy damage, Linxin immediately charged toward it.

At this moment, Linxin felt the Spiritual Power within his body circulating rapidly, and his physical reaction speed became extremely agile.

This was what the Emperor called Spiritual Power infusing the whole body, mind and intent as one!

Linxin rolled to avoid the sweeping bone blade, his spirit pattern combat knife dragging a purple trajectory on the ground.

As Linxin lunged forward, he could hear the comfortable sensation of his Spiritual Power constantly circulating within his body.

"Alien! Die!"

Linxin only felt that he was in excellent condition now, directly charging head-on at this injured humanoid Zerg.

The moment the spirit pattern combat knife pierced the energy force field, the purple electric arcs on the blade exploded instantly, directly enveloping this humanoid Zerg.

The humanoid Zerg still tried to counterattack, but saw Linxin gripping the spirit pattern combat knife with both hands, launching an attack without avoiding its edge.

"Puchi!"

The spirit pattern combat knife successfully pierced into the humanoid Zerg's chest cavity, and the most dazzling purple electric arcs poured into the Zerg's chest cavity along the incision.

Under the attack of the purple electric arcs, the humanoid Zerg let out a painful hiss, its humanoid face twisting into sharp mouthparts.

The energy force field around this humanoid Zerg began to flicker, and laser beams continuously hit the humanoid Zerg's body.

The commanding Human Alliance Lieutenant saw that Linxin had dealt with the humanoid Zerg but was also trapped deep in the Insect Tide, and immediately ordered,

"Provide fire support for Linxin! He cannot die here!"

Before the Human Alliance Lieutenant's words had faded, Linxin backhanded his spirit pattern combat knife into the ground, and a purple lightning storm formed by Spiritual Power swallowed all the Zerg approaching him.

When the purple lightning storm dissipated, all the Zerg around Linxin had turned into charcoal.

Linxin felt the residual Spiritual Power in his body, his vision began to blur, and his teammates soon brought him back into the ranks; after checking Linxin's condition, the Human Alliance Lieutenant immediately ordered.

"Let Linxin withdraw from the battlefield! His Spiritual Power consumption is too high; I'm afraid he won't be able to wake up for a short time."

"Yes!"

Linxin did not know how he was brought back to the camp stationed outside the Third Defense Zone; in a daze, Linxin seemed to have returned to the day he was praised by the Emperor.

As a survivor rescued from a Zerg Incubation Nest, Linxin had long been full of respect for the Emperor mentioned by those soldiers who saved him.

Especially seeing those soldiers who held firm to their Faith, shouting "For the Emperor" while slaughtering the Zerg, made Linxin firm in his path of following the Emperor.

After arriving at the Ninth Defense Zone, not long after, the Ninth Defense Zone was invaded by Demons; that invasion killed many people, and Linxin witnessed many compatriots losing their loved ones.

The Emperor drove those Demons away with thunderous momentum and cleared out those vermin in the Ninth Defense Zone.

Later, Linxin became a Psionic; although the Emperor's soldiers and that equipment were indeed very strong, it made some Human Alliance soldiers inevitably feel that they were too weak.

And the Emperor also seemed to have noticed this phenomenon; after Lord Horus took charge of the Military District, the Emperor would share some techniques that could make Psionics stronger on the Military District's public radio every so often.

Linxin discovered that the techniques shared by the Emperor to make Psionics stronger were changes made on the original foundation; perhaps it was these changes made by the Emperor, or perhaps it was because Linxin survived from the Breeding Ground, in any case, according to the Emperor's method, Linxin's Spiritual Power became much stronger.

But Linxin, whose Spiritual Power had become stronger, did not exert his strength on the battlefield because the Emperor's weapons were very practical; even an ordinary person, after a certain amount of training, would display impressive combat effectiveness on the battlefield.

Compared to the individual strengthening of Psionics like them, the overall strengthening of Human Civilization was certainly what the Emperor expected.

Linxin was not discouraged; he believed that the reason the Emperor told them the method to become stronger must have the Emperor's intentions.

Until that time when the Emperor suddenly called out to Linxin in the Military District, and after carefully probing Linxin's Spiritual Power, he patted Linxin on the shoulder and said.

"Your Spiritual Power is already very strong now, work hard to improve your strength! Soldier! You will play a certain role on the battlefield."

This was Linxin's first interaction with the Emperor, and it also made Linxin more firm in his Faith in the Emperor.

Just at this moment, Linxin seemed to hear soldiers shouting outside the camp.

"The Zerg don't know what happened, their offensive is in chaos!"
