Chapter 66: Fourth Defense Zone
The two found an empty space to sit down, and Geerman asked somewhat impatiently, "Is there any way?"
A hint of solemnity appeared on No. 6's gaunt face, and he said to Geerman, "You have seen it too; the Human Alliance does not regard us commoners as anything at all, and they even treat us commoners like cattle or horses, or even as objects."
Geerman sensed something unusual; he looked at the other person with a somewhat heavy expression and said slowly, "I know what you are saying is the truth, but what are you trying to express? I only want to know the method to escape."
"Don't be so impatient. Since you just said that no matter what price you have to pay, you want to escape from here, then are you prepared to become an enemy of the entire Human Alliance?" A hint of intrigue emerged in No. 6's brown eyes.
"What do you mean?" Geerman asked, seeing that No. 6 was being mysterious.
"You only need to answer yes or no. You must consider it carefully; this will determine your fate." No. 6 did not answer Geerman's question and said.
Geerman did not hesitate in the slightest and said, "Tell me the method to get out; I am willing to pay any price."
No. 6 revealed an ugly smile and nodded slowly.
"Very good. My Lord will bless us as we escape from here, and you will naturally get out when the time comes. For now, show your sincerity."
No. 6 pulled a yellowed piece of paper from somewhere and handed it to Geerman, "Welcome to join us—the Red Demon Society."
Geerman took the yellow paper handed over by No. 6 and slowly opened it; on it was drawn a Demon with horns on its head.
Fourth Defense Zone Outer City.
"Help! Someone save me!" A worker wearing work clothes was sprinting through a devastated street. Behind him, several strong Orcs were following at a leisurely pace, just like a cat playing with a mouse, watching the Two-legged Sheep screaming not far ahead with amusement.
Soon, the worker could barely run anymore. The obsession with survival urged him to keep telling himself to run faster, faster!
His legs felt like they were filled with lead and began to fail him. His heart was beating rapidly due to the prolonged running, and sweat had already soaked his work clothes.
He did not know how long he had been running, but he knew he could not stop; those Orcs behind him were still following him.
At this moment, one Orc seemed to have grown tired of playing. It found a pipe that looked relatively straight among the abandoned wreckage, aimed at the Two-legged Sheep that was about to stop running, and threw the pipe with force.
Accompanied by a whistling sound, the right calf of the man wearing work clothes was pierced through directly.
The man who was running lost control of his right calf and fell to the ground. He crawled with difficulty and looked back.
Seeing those Orcs getting closer and closer, he dragged his injured right leg and moved backward, his pupils shrinking violently; he was already engulfed by fear.
"Don't come over! Don't come over!"
He grabbed the Stone fragments beside him and threw them at the Orcs, but these Stone fragments could not pose any threat in front of the Orcs.
The Orcs let out a burst of mocking laughter; they seemed to be enjoying this atmosphere of fear and despair, enjoying the thrill of this hunt.
Suddenly, a burst of gunfire pierced the silent air. Several obvious bullet holes appeared on the bodies of the Orcs, and blood began to flow. But these gunshot wounds did not hit the vital parts of these Orcs.
"Roar!" These Orcs were enraged by these wounds. They looked around and discovered that on a ruin, there were two civilians holding Assault Rifles. Clearly, they had not been touching these guns for long, and their movements looked quite clumsy.
"Two more pieces of prey! Charge! The warrior who catches the prey first can pick the delicious parts first!" one Orc shouted loudly, and the other Orcs, upon hearing this, all charged toward the ruins aggressively.
The two civilians holding Assault Rifles, seeing the Orcs charging over, immediately turned and fled.
By the time these Orcs chased these two pieces of prey to a warehouse, they had lost the trail of the two pieces of prey.
Just as the few Orcs wanted to search for the trail of the prey, more than twenty Humans appeared around them, surrounding these 4 Orcs.
Among them, most were soldiers wearing Human Alliance military uniforms, and they were looking at these Orcs with anger in their eyes.
"A group of Orcs—I might not be able to beat a whole army, but can't I beat these few? Brothers, open fire!" a soldier who looked like the leader shouted loudly.
The shooting level of these soldiers was completely different from the civilians just now; they all fired at the weak defensive points of these Orcs.
Soon, only one of the four Orcs remained alive. It was wearing Simple Bulletproof Armor, which blocked most of the damage. Blood was flowing down its strong arm, but it did not lose its mobility because of this. With an ugly face under its helmet, it charged toward these Two-legged Sheep in anger.
"You vermin! I will crush you!" It picked up the large gun in its hand and opened fire at these Two-legged Sheep.
And these soldiers, the moment it became angry, had already begun to retreat. The fierce firepower hit the shipping container, piercing it directly.
Not until the ammunition in the Orc's weapon was emptied did this Orc take out its proud Battle Axe and search in this warehouse.
"Swish, swish, swish!"
Several arrows wrapped in Spiritual Power shot toward the Orc. A few were blocked by the Orc's helmet, and one hit the Orc's neck, piercing it directly through.
"Han Li, there is still an injured worker outside!" The two civilians who had just lured the Orcs over shouted to the soldier who was putting away his Back Spirit.
"Alright, let's hurry and take that worker, then evacuate from here. The main Orc force might come here in a while," Han Li immediately said to the soldiers beside him.
The worker, seeing the Orcs chasing him being lured away by the two civilians, although he felt full of gratitude toward those who lured the Orcs away, also knew this was his chance. He dragged his injured right leg and hurried to move his body.
Not long after, he crawled forward and suddenly his vision went black. The worker felt a wave of despair in his heart—was he unable to escape after all?
When he raised his head and discovered that what was in front of him was not the Green-skinned Orc, but soldiers wearing Human Alliance military uniforms standing before him, a cold sweat broke out on his back.
"We are the Guerrilla nearby. Are you alright?" a soldier said. He quickly squatted in front of the injured worker and began to treat his wound.
The worker looked at these soldiers who had suddenly appeared, his eyes filled with tears.
"Thank you, thank you all!" the worker said, choking with sobs.
"Bear with it, I am going to pull this pipe out now." After a soldier said this to the worker, he quickly pulled the pipe out and summoned his Back Spirit to stop the bleeding from the worker's wound.
"I can only do this much. Spiritual Power is very precious right now; I can only ensure that your injury will not worsen," the soldier said.
"Alright, we must evacuate quickly."
The worker, after trying and finding he could barely walk, also followed behind these soldiers and left the street.
