Chapter 859: Air-Dropping onto Kamirat Star (2)
"Advance! Crush them!"
Sergeant Agulu roared and charged at the very front!
The other White Scars Space Marines followed closely behind, moving at high speed while firing short bursts, suppressing any enemy who dared to show their head.
The Fengqi soldiers were stunned by this completely unreasonable assault.
A Fengqi soldier looked at the white giant shadow drawing closer; fear overwhelmed everything, and he dropped his Energy Rifle and turned to run.
"Do not retreat! You bastards!"
That Fengqi sergeant roared, trying to stop the rout.
Sergeant Agulu charged onto the barricade!
A Fengqi soldier screamed and fired his Energy Rifle at him from almost point-blank range.
Several consecutive energy beams struck Agulu's chest Armor, leaving a few deeper scorch marks, but failing to penetrate!
Agulu did not even use his gun; he simply clenched his left fist and swung it.
Crack!
The sound of bones shattering rang out!
The neck of that Fengqi soldier was smashed out of shape, and his entire body flew backward, hitting the wall behind and sliding down limply, leaving a streak of blood.
Another White Scars Space Marine collided with a Fengqi soldier who was attempting to stab his abdomen seam with a Bayonet.
The Bayonet of the Energy Rifle scraped a series of sparks against the Power Armor, but could not advance an inch.
This White Scars Space Marine grabbed backhand, easily twisting the opponent's arm, and then the Chainsword in his other hand swept forward!
"Vroom—shred!!"
The roar of the Chainsword was accompanied by the sound of flesh and metal being torn apart.
That Fengqi soldier was almost sawn in two from the waist, with internal organs and blood splattering everywhere.
The battle turned into a close-quarters massacre; the White Scars Space Marines were like tigers among a flock of sheep, firing their Bolters at point-blank range and slashing wildly with Chainswords.
The Fengqi soldiers' Power Armor could not last long against the terrifying strength and superior weapons of the Space Marines.
That Fengqi sergeant was the last one to fall.
He emptied his rifle's energy, drew his sidearm, and howled as he charged at Sergeant Agulu, making a final, desperate counterattack.
Agulu merely tilted his body slightly, easily dodging the disorganized slash, and then his Chainsword pierced into the Fengqi sergeant's chest.
"Ugh..."
The sergeant's howl came to an abrupt end.
He looked down at his chest; the Chainsword had pierced through his Power Armor and body.
He opened his mouth, spat out a mouthful of blood mixed with fragments of internal organs, and then fell straight backward.
The resistance on the ramp was completely wiped out.
Five White Scars Space Marines, none seriously injured, only some surface damage to their Armor and energy scorch marks.
As for those Fengqi soldiers, they had become mangled corpses scattered across the ramp and pools of gradually congealing blue blood.
"Clearance complete. Continue advancing toward the main gate."
Sergeant Agulu checked the ammunition of his Bolter, his voice calm and rippleless.
Meanwhile, on the other side of the Fortress, the fate of some overseers attempting to flee was even more swift and decisive.
Two overseer leaders, relying on their brute strength and the High-Voltage Electric Whip in their hands, tried to slip away through an alley, but ran head-on into a White Scars Space Marine who had just cleared an Anti-Air Cannon position.
"Mon... monster!"
An overseer screamed in terror, subconsciously swinging the High-Voltage Electric Whip at the Space Marine.
The electric whip wrapped around the Space Marine's arm, emitting crackling arcs of electricity, enough to paralyze a sturdy Sand Beast to the ground.
But to a Space Marine wearing Power Armor, this was merely an insignificant interference on his sensors.
That White Scars Space Marine did not even pause; he pulled with his entangled arm!
The overseer only felt an irresistible giant force coming; he exclaimed as he was dragged off the ground, flying toward the White Scars Space Marine!
Greeting him was the fist of the White Scars Space Marine!
"Puff!"
The overseer's body was smashed into two pieces in mid-air, flesh and Broken Bone splattering against the alley wall.
The other overseer was completely terrified; he dropped his High-Voltage Electric Whip and turned to run.
This White Scars Space Marine simply raised his Bolter, not even aiming carefully.
Bang!
A huge bloody hole exploded in the overseer's back; he lunged forward and fell, silent.
These poorly trained Fengqi soldiers, wearing Power Armor and holding Energy Weapons, were indeed a bit harder to deal with than ordinary people, but only a bit.
Before the Emperor's Angels, their end was already destined.
Destruction descends upon the oppressors.
And at the landing point of the largest of all the Drop Pods.
Before the cooling steam had fully dissipated, a giant, even taller than the White Scars Space Marines, stepped out.
Jaghatai's gaze swept across the chaotic battlefield; the White Scars warriors were efficiently clearing out the trash, and the resistance was minimal.
His gaze crossed the battlefield and saw those miners huddled in the corners, shivering, gaunt, and with numb eyes.
There was only fear and bewilderment on their faces; there was no joy at seeing "liberators."
Long-term enslavement had completely crushed their spirits.
A surge of anger rose in Jaghatai's heart, not directed at these poor people, but at the system that had turned them into this state.
Just then, a flash of Energy Rifle fire caught his attention.
On a higher loading platform, a Three-Eyed Human wearing the deep purple Power Armor of the garrison was firing wildly at him with a Rifle while cursing at the top of his lungs with a ferocious and crazed expression.
"Monster! Heretic! Do you know whose territory this is?! The Fengqi Star Alliance will not let you go! You will all die! You will all..."
It was Carlson.
This Fengqi garrison soldier who, just yesterday, had been arrogant and overbearing, treating the lives of miners as if they were blades of grass.
He had seen Bulake crushed like a bug and seen Fengqi soldiers being rapidly Harvested; he could not accept this crushing defeat and could only use hysterical attacks to mask his inner collapse.
Energy beams struck the chest and shoulder plates of Jaghatai Khan, sparking a few flickers of fire.
Jaghatai Khan did not even raise his weapon.
He merely turned his head slightly, his eyes gazing at Carlson through the lenses of his helmet.
Carlson's cursing came to an abrupt halt; he was thoroughly frozen by that majesty and killing intent which transcended mortal beings.
The shooting stopped, and the Energy Rifle slipped from his trembling hands.
Jaghatai Khan took a step forward.
With just that one step, the immense pressure caused Carlson's legs to go weak, and he collapsed to the ground.
With the second step, Jaghatai had crossed a distance of several dozen meters as if teleporting, arriving beneath the loading platform.
With the third step, Jaghatai grabbed the metal railing at the edge of the platform.
Then, in Carlson's gaze of extreme terror, Jaghatai Khan exerted force with a single arm, and his massive, heavy frame nimbly vaulted onto the platform, landing right in front of Carlson!
"No... don't..."
Carlson slumped on the ground, crawling backward on his hands and feet.
Jaghatai looked down at this lowly bug beneath his feet.
He recalled the fragments of information about this world he had seen while interrogating the pirates, and he remembered those miners who had been exploited, enslaved, and executed at will.
"In the name of the Emperor,"
Jaghatai's voice rang out through his helmet's loudspeaker.
"For the crimes you have committed, and for the oppression you represent."
As he spoke, Jaghatai lifted his large foot, which was encased in a combat boot.
Carlson let out one final, desperate scream.
"No—!"
The large foot descended.
"Squelch—"
A dull sound of flesh and bone being thoroughly crushed.
The screaming came to an abrupt end.
Jaghatai moved his foot away, leaving behind nothing on the platform but an unrecognizable, humanoid smear of blood and flesh.
