Rui En stood inside the bunker monitoring station, watching the data stream scrolling across the screen, and felt a tingling sensation on his scalp.

"How are the readings?"

Doctor Aisha's voice came from behind Rui En.

"Energy levels are growing exponentially; the amplifier array has reached forty percent power and is still rising."

Doctor Aisha's Third Eye flickered with psionic blue light.

"The high command activated the array early... the orbital battlefield is worse than we imagined."

Suddenly, the entire bunker shook violently, and the energy overload alarm sounded.

"What's happening?"

Rui En asked.

Doctor Aisha rushed to the main Control Console.

"They are forcing a power increase without full calibration! This will..."

Aisha's words were interrupted by an Energy Pulse.

In that instant, Rui En felt his consciousness pulled out of his body, then shoved back in.

All the screens in the monitoring station turned into static.

A few seconds later, the backup power kicked in, and dim emergency lighting came on.

Rui En stood up shakily, feeling warm liquid flowing from his nasal cavity.

"Holy Star Alliance."

Rui En looked at Doctor Aisha.

Doctor Aisha slumped in front of the Control Console and said in a dejected tone.

"They really activated the incomplete Psionic Amplifier Array."

Rui En helped Aisha stand up and asked.

"What does this mean? What just happened?"

"That was a full-spectrum psionic pulse. Incomplete calibration means it won't strike the enemy fleet precisely as intended, but rather... indiscriminately affect all psionically sensitive entities."

The Communication Device suddenly erupted with various sounds.

"... Enemy ships are retreating! Repeat, the enemy is retreating!"

"... Their Psionics... seem to be in pain! Our Psionics feel their power has increased!"

"... This is a miracle of the Star Alliance! It is time for us to counterattack!"

Rui En and Doctor Aisha exchanged a glance and walked quickly toward the communication console.

Rui En adjusted the frequency, wanting to get a clear image of the orbital battlefield.

"This is Dibu 13 Qu, requesting a status update."

After a moment of static interference, an excited voice responded.

"A miracle! It's absolutely a miracle! After the amplifier array activated, the enemy's Psionics suddenly lost their abilities, while our Psionics' power surged! Enemy ships are retreating in chaos!"

Doctor Aisha's brow, however, furrowed tighter.

"This isn't normal... an incompletely calibrated array shouldn't have this effect. Unless..."

"Unless what?"

"Unless the array is running in an overload state; this status won't last long. Moreover, an indiscriminate pulse means it is also affecting our own people.

It's just that our Psionics have undergone adaptation training and can better control the enhanced power."

The bunker shook again.

"Multiple airborne signals detected! The enemy is dropping more troops onto the planetary surface!"

Rui En looked at the main screen, which showed hundreds of Drop Pods breaking through the atmosphere and descending toward the planetary surface.

Rui En whispered to himself.

"They sent reinforcements, even after the psionic pulse."

Doctor Aisha explained.

"Their non-psionic soldiers were unaffected. The pulse only targeted psionically sensitive entities... and for most soldiers, the battle has only just begun."

In orbit, the local Psionics' power was temporarily enhanced, while the enemy Psionics felt their abilities interfered with by some invisible field.

On an Orbital Defense Platform, Mortarion felt the aftershocks of the psionic pulse.

To a Primarch like him, this interference was merely annoying rather than fatal.

"Pulse source detected, originating from the planetary surface, coordinates locked."

Mortarion sent an encrypted communication to Lion.

"Brother, did you receive that?"

"Received. My company and I are advancing toward that location."

"Good, I will keep the fleet under pressure to prevent them from evacuating. You are responsible for neutralizing that pulse source."

"Understood. Lion, out."

The communication ended, and Mortarion turned to the tactical hologram.

Despite the chaos caused by the psionic pulse, his fleet still held the advantage.

It was time to end this battle.

On the surface, Rui En and the defenders of Dibu 13 Qu were deploying defensive points.

"All units, move to combat positions."

The voice of the bunker Commander, Major Leisi, came through the communication system.

"Enemy Airborne Troops are expected to reach our sector within ten minutes."

Rui En checked his weapons and equipment.

Doctor Aisha walked toward Rui En and spoke.

"Rui En, I have a bad feeling. The operating status of the Psionic Amplifier Array is extremely unstable. If it goes Out of Control..."

"What will happen?"

"The best case is that it shuts down on its own. The worst case... it could overload and explode, and the released Psychic Shock would be enough to wipe out half a continent."

"Then why don't we shut it down?"

Doctor Aisha shook her head and said.

Rui En looked at Doctor Aisha.

"You should evacuate."

The sounds of explosions grew closer.

Rui En could hear the roar of Bolters.

Suddenly, a violent explosion came from the direction of the bunker's main entrance, followed by the sound of intense gunfire.

"They've breached the main entrance! We need reinforcements!"

Major Leisi ordered calmly.

"All units, proceed according to the plan. Remember, we are not just defending a facility, but the hope of the entire Star Alliance."

Doctor Aisha took an Energy Pistol out from under the table.

"I may not be a soldier, but I will not surrender without a fight."

The sound of gunfire inside the bunker grew closer.

"B Zone has fallen! They are advancing toward the core area!"

Rui En and Doctor Aisha exchanged a look.

Their current location was the control center for the Psionic Amplifier Array.

"Major Leisi, do we need to initiate the self-destruct sequence?"

Doctor Aisha asked through the Communication Device.

After a brief Silence, Major Leisi replied.

"No orders received yet. But... be prepared."

Just then, the blast door of the control center suddenly shook violently.

"They're here!"

Rui En shouted, raising his Pistol to aim at the doorway.

The blast door deformed after another heavy strike, then was ripped entirely off its hinges.

Standing in the doorway was a giant wearing black Power Armor.

Rui En fired immediately; the energy beam hit the opponent's Power Armor, leaving only a faint scorch mark.

The giant tore the blast door open further.

Just then, a squad of Fengqi soldiers rushed out from a side corridor and opened fire on the giant.

"Psionic squad, now!"

A Fengqi officer shouted.

A group of Fengqi Psionics focused their power, jointly unleashing a powerful Psychic Shock.

The giant was hit by the shockwave and sent flying directly backward.

But more enemy giants swarmed into the control center.

Rui En hid behind a Control Console and continued to fire.

Rui En saw Doctor Aisha get hit in the shoulder by a giant, her entire shoulder becoming twisted and deformed.

"Retreat! All units retreat to the final defensive line!"

Major Leisi's voice shouted over the communication channel.

Rui En took one last look at the fallen Doctor Aisha, gritted his teeth, and retreated backward.
