Chapter 939: Firefight at Fengrao Starport (2)

On the cruiser's Bridge, Kastekesi observed the bombardment effect and nodded with satisfaction.

"Target resistance intensity has dropped by seventy percent; I suggest deploying landing troops."

"Wait a little longer; let the artillery soften them up for a while more. The Iron Warriors do not waste the lives of warriors."

After another round of precise shelling, no firing weapons could be seen on the surface of Tiebi Sihao.

Multiple parts of the platform were emitting thick smoke, and some areas even revealed their internal structures.

Kastekesi gave the order.

"Now, landing troops, move out. Clear all resistance, secure key areas. Leave no survivors."

Several Boarding Pods were launched from the Iron Warriors' warship, piercing into the weak armor of Tiebi Sihao.

One of them crashed directly near the platform's main corridor, tearing open a massive breach.

Major Man saw the alarm for the Boarding Pod impact in the control room and immediately gave the order.

"They're inside! All units, intercept according to the pre-planned strategy!"

In the main corridor, Fengqi soldiers led by Sergeant Ke'er used automatic cannons to form a defensive line.

"Remember, aim for their joints and eyepieces! Don't fight head-on, use the terrain!"

Heavy footsteps echoed from the other end of the corridor.

Then, several Iron Warriors Space Marines walked out from the other end of the corridor.

"Fire!"

Ke'er roared.

Dense energy beams shot toward the Iron Warriors, splashing sparks against their Power Armor.

Even the energy beams from the automatic cannons could not immediately burn through the Iron Warriors' thickened Power Armor.

The leading Iron Warriors Space Marine raised a Plasma Gun to return fire.

After a brief charge, the Plasma Gun fired.

Boom!

The continuously firing automatic cannons were destroyed instantly, including the Fengqi soldiers near them.

"Hold the line!"

Ke'er shouted, while firing his Energy Rifle continuously.

An energy beam struck the shoulder joint of an Iron Warrior.

That Iron Warriors Space Marine let out a low growl and strafed with a Bolter.

The Iron Warriors Space Marines advanced steadily, their Bolters claiming a life with every shot.

Fengqi soldiers threw Hand Grenades and engaged in close-quarters combat, but it was all in vain.

One soldier successfully stuck a High-temperature Molten Bomb onto an Iron Warrior's leg; the explosion tore the leg apart, but the Iron Warriors Space Marine continued firing after falling until dragged away by a comrade.

"Retreat! Fall back to the Second Defense Line!"

Seeing the situation was beyond saving, Ke'er ordered a withdrawal.

The next second, a rocket launched from the Iron Warriors' formation, directly hitting the position where Ke'er was.

When the smoke cleared, only charred wreckage remained there.

Major Man watched the carnage in the main corridor through the surveillance screen, his heart aching.

The soldiers fought heroically, yet could not even slightly hinder the enemy's advance.

"Seal the isolation doors of B Zone and C Zone, and activate the internal defense system."

Thick isolation doors slammed down, dividing the platform into multiple independent areas.

"Major, we have received distress signals from other platforms... Tiebi Erhao and 'Number Five' have also fallen."

Man closed his eyes.

The enemy's offensive made the total collapse of the Orbital Defense Platform a matter of time.

Suddenly, an explosion sounded outside the control room door, accompanied by a wave of heat; the control room door was melted open.

"They're here!"

Man drew his Pistol and stood in the center of the control room.

A massive Iron Warriors Space Marine stepped over the flowing metal and walked into the control room.

"Drop your weapons, Alien."

Man raised his gun and aimed at the opponent.

"This is the territory of the Fengqi Star Alliance, invader. You have no right to..."

Bang!

Before Man could finish his sentence, his entire head had vanished.

This Iron Warriors Space Marine let out a sneer.

"Telling you to drop your weapons is a routine courtesy of the Emperor; you don't know when you're well off!"

A burst of Bolter fire rang out in the control room, then quickly stopped.

An Iron Warriors Space Marine said over the helmet communication channel.

"This platform now belongs to the Iron Warriors Legion, to the Xiuluo Holy Star Alliance, to Humanity!"

After the disastrous defeat in the Chaomo Asteroid Belt, General Suo'er knew well that confronting the Xiuluosheng Fleet head-on in open space was no different from suicide.

His new tactics revolved entirely around the defense system of Fengrao Starport itself, and the coordination between the Orbital Defense Platform and the mobile fleet was the core of this strategy.

Tiebi Yihao became the fulcrum of the entire first line of defense.

Commander Colonel Taluo'en was maintaining real-time contact with the flagship cruiser of the Fengqi Fourth Fleet cruising on the periphery via an encrypted communication channel.

"Colonel Leien, the enemy vanguard fleet is approaching your firing range. Seven Frigates and six Destroyers. It looks like they are coming for you; they have opened fire!"

Feeling the Orbital Defense Platform's shield constantly consuming energy, Colonel Taluo'en swept his three eyes across the main tactical screen and nodded in response.

"I see it, Walisi. 'Iron Wall No. 1' is ready. I suggest your fleet maintain mobility; after we open fire to draw their attention, cut in from the flank."

"Understood. May the starlight guide us."

Walisi cut the communication.

Inside the Zhongyang Kongzhishi of 'Iron Wall No. 1', Taluo'en gave the order.

"All turrets, charge! Target locked on the enemy lead Destroyer!"

"Missile Fashijing, load Armor-piercing Round!"

"Point-defense system online, prepare to Intercept enemy Torpedo and starfighters!"

Outside the Orbital Defense Platform, the massive twin-linked Heavy Laser Turret began to rotate slowly, blue light gathering at the muzzle.

The protective covers of the Missile Fashijing slid open, revealing the launch tubes inside.

Six Luna Wolves Frigate advanced in a wedge formation.

"Entering optimal range!"

The Weapon Officer shouted.

"'Iron Wall No. 1', all guns fire!"

Following Taluo'en's command, a burst of light erupted from the front of the Orbital Defense Platform.

Dozens of thick main laser beams flew toward the Void Shield of the lead Luna Wolves Frigate.

Over two hundred heavy Missile, trailing scorching exhaust flames, concentrated fire on that Frigate.

The attacked Frigate's Void Shield fluctuated violently, rippling, but it still withstood this wave of attacks.

"Now, Walisi!"

Colonel Taluo'en whispered.

The Fengqi Fourth Fleet, which had been waiting for the opportunity, moved out.

Led by a heavy Cruiser, six ships surged out from the shadow of a Starport auxiliary structure, engines at full throttle, plunging straight into the flank of this Luna Wolves fleet!

"All units, aim at that Frigate, concentrate fire!"

Brigadier General Walisi roared on the Bridge of the heavy Cruiser.

The Fengqi Fleet's Plasma Cannon and Rapid-fire Laser Cannon wove a dense net of fire, enveloping a Sword-class Frigate on the flank of the Luna Wolves fleet.

This Frigate's Void Shield had already been significantly depleted during the first volley from 'Iron Wall No. 1', and at this moment, it overloaded under the concentrated strike of the Fourth Fleet.

Immediately following, several Plasma Torpedo struck the middle of its hull, triggering a chain explosion that tore the Frigate in two.

"Well done!"

A cheer erupted inside the 'Iron Wall No. 1' control room.
