Chapter 959: Conversations While Awaiting Supplies
While leaving the orbit of Wangxiang Planet, Luojia watched the planet gradually shrinking through the observation window.
The foundation of the rule of law established on Wangxiang Planet had already taken root.
It would become a model, spreading from one world to another.
"Set the course for the next target. Let more people understand that in the Xiuluo Holy Star Alliance, freedom and order are both indispensable."
"Yes! Father!"
Yuanzhuaxing.
The fleets of the Blood Angels and the White Scars were anchored around the temporarily established orbital base.
The landing forces of the two armies had already established a joint supply base, waiting for the arrival of the follow-up supply fleet.
Sanguinius stood on the observation tower of the base, watching the two different styles of Space Marines living in harmony within the base.
"Even after seeing it so many times, your descendants still surprise me, Sanguinius."
A hearty voice came from behind.
Sanguinius knew who it was without turning his head.
"And your warriors are always full of energy, Jaghatai. Look at them; they cannot stop even during a rest period."
In the base, the White Scars Space Marines were holding impromptu speed competitions, while the Blood Angels Space Marines were performing equipment maintenance.
Jaghatai leaned against the railing and spoke.
"Waiting is always the most torturous, especially when you know there is still a battle waiting ahead."
This planet was once an outpost of the Fengqi Star Alliance, but now it had become a supply point for the Xiuluo Holy Expeditionary Force.
Sanguinius nodded in agreement and spoke.
"Father's choice of this place as a supply point is very wise; the geographical location is excellent, and it has complete port facilities."
Jaghatai chuckled.
"Indeed, facilities 'borrowed' from the Fengqi. I imagine they are not too happy about it."
The two Primarchs looked at each other and smiled.
At this moment, a Blood Angels officer boarded the observation tower and saluted Sanguinius.
"Primarch, the communication with Xiuluo Holy Star has been connected."
Sanguinius and Jaghatai exchanged a glance and immediately walked toward the Communication Room.
When the face of Yingzhou appeared on the screen, both Primarchs saluted simultaneously.
"Sanguinius, Jaghatai, the supply fleet will arrive at your location within seventy-two hours."
Sanguinius stepped forward.
"Everything is ready, Father. The base can supply both fleets at the same time."
"Very good. After the resupply is complete, you will head to the Sixth Star Sector of the Fengqi Star Alliance. The human worlds there are still under the enslavement of the Alien."
Jaghatai's eyes lit up, and he spoke.
"The Sixth Star Sector? The terrain there is suitable for maneuver warfare. My descendants will be very happy to hear this news."
"This is exactly why I had your two fleets cooperate; Sanguinius's frontal breakthrough capability and Jaghatai's rapid maneuverability complement each other perfectly. I leave the liberation mission of the Sixth Star Sector to you."
Sanguinius bowed solemnly.
"Humanity will surely regain its freedom, Father."
After the communication ended, the two Primarchs walked out of the Communication Room.
Jaghatai said thoughtfully.
"The Sixth Star Sector, I remember the intelligence indicating that it is mainly agricultural worlds and light industrial planets."
Sanguinius pulled out a Data Pad.
"Yes, unlike the mining worlds we liberated before. The defenses there should be relatively weak, but the human population is more dense."
"This means we need more precise strikes to avoid civilian casualties."
Jaghatai's expression became serious.
Sanguinius nodded in agreement.
"This is exactly why Father sent our two fleets together. Your speed can quickly control key facilities, while my troops can provide a stable defensive line."
They walked toward the rest area of the base.
The White Scars warriors had already lit a bonfire there, roasting local edible beast meat.
The Blood Angels warriors had brought their specially prepared nutritional supplies.
Jaghatai took the roasted meat handed to him by a warrior.
"Want some, Sanguinius? Although it doesn't compare to the delicacies of Xiuluo Holy, it has a unique flavor."
Sanguinius smiled and accepted it.
"I do not waste anything edible."
The two Primarchs sat by the bonfire, and the surrounding Space Marines naturally gathered around, yet kept a proper distance to give the Primarchs a private space for conversation.
Jaghatai took a bite of the roasted meat and said to Sanguinius.
"Speaking of which, I received a message from our little sister. She said she wanted me to bring her back some interesting gifts."
Sanguinius laughed, his eyes shining with a warm light.
"That little curious one. When I left, she also pestered me, asking me to describe the color of the sky on every new world."
Jaghatai shook his head and smiled.
"She even asked me to teach her how to ride a motorcycle; can you imagine? A nine-year-old girl wanting to master the war-steeds of the White Scars."
"I fully believe she can do it. Remember last time she pestered Guilliman to learn combat techniques? According to Guilliman, she made rapid progress."
Jaghatai whispered thoughtfully.
"Sometimes I wonder if we brothers have inadvertently influenced that child. We talk about war, conquest, adventure... and she hears it all."
Sanguinius's expression softened.
"But she has also taught us much, Jaghatai. Because of her existence, we have learned to view problems with different eyes. Remember that time she asked us why we couldn't be friends with all 'aliens'?"
Jaghatai nodded.
"That naive question left everyone in Silence. Magnus later told me he spent several hours explaining the cruel reality of the sea of stars to her."
Sanguinius said.
"But a part of her innocence still remains, which is perhaps a good thing. In the endless crusade, she reminds us of the ultimate purpose of fighting: for the future of Human."
In the distance, a squad of White Scars scouts returned to base, their Assault Bikes skimming over the ground, kicking up a cloud of dust.
The Blood Angels Sentinel waved in greeting to them.
Jaghatai pointed at the interacting Space Marines and spoke.
"Look at them, so different, yet so harmonious."
"Because we all believe in the same philosophy, Jaghatai. Human should be united as one to face the darkness of the universe together."
Night fell, and the two moons of Yuanzhuaxing rose in the sky, casting a soft silver light.
A breeze blew by, and Sanguinius's wings fluttered gently.
"I have always been curious, what does it feel like to fly?"
Jaghatai asked out of the blue.
Sanguinius looked up at the starry sky.
"Freedom, Jaghatai. Just like the feeling when your bike is moving at full speed, but even more... pure. The little sister also often asks me the same question."
"Oh? How did you answer her?"
Sanguinius smiled and said.
"I told her that flying is as free as thinking; your thoughts can reach anywhere. Then she asked me if I could take her flying once."
Jaghatai laughed out loud.
"That little adventurer! Did you agree?"
"Of course, under proper protection. I took her for a flight over the Ninth Defense Zone. Her laughter... that was the purest sound I have ever heard."
"I really wish I had been there, but I believe there will be opportunities in the future. When we complete the Task of the Liberation Crusade in the Sixth Star Sector and return to Xiuluosheng..."
Sanguinius nodded.
"At that time, we can take her to experience more things together. Perhaps you can teach her to ride that fastest Jetbike of yours."
"And she might ask us to race to see if I am faster or if your wings are faster."
Jaghatai teased.
They continued to converse, from tactical discussions to philosophical reflections, from legion management to the future of Human.
"Sometimes I wonder why we are so different."
Jaghatai mused.
Sanguinius looked at the flickering flames.
"Because Human itself is diverse, Jaghatai. Father understands this."
"Just like fingers; they have their own strengths when separated, but become a fist when clenched together."
Jaghatai used a metaphor.
"A very good metaphor, and the Liberation Crusade is the moment for Human to clench its fist."
