Chapter 965: The Collapse of the Swarm's Firepower Points (1)

~7 min read 1,329 words

Blood Angels Fleet, "Angel".

Sanguinius's voice spread throughout the entire Blood Angels Fleet.

"All units, adjust formation. Use 'Red Tear' as the core to form an assault spearhead. We will engage the Alien capital fleet head-on in the Kaipa-777 Region. This is not a probe; this is purification! For the Emperor! For the Xiuluo Holy Star!"

"We do not fail the blood of Sanguinius!"

The Blood Angels Fleet began to turn, sailing toward the airspace heavily fortified by the enemy.

They did not hide their tracks; instead, they actively increased their energy signatures, exposing their own movements.

White Scars Fleet, "Fengchi".

The White Scars fleet dispersed into dozens of small formations, utilizing nebular dust and tiny celestial fragments to sail rapidly along a calculated course.

"Listen, my sons!"

Jaghatai's voice rang out in the communication device of every White Scars Space Marine.

"Our brothers of the Blood Angels will draw the enemy's gaze for us, and we shall conduct a great hunt! Sheathe your battle cries, suppress your passion. Let the enemy immerse themselves in the 'glory' of battling Sanguinius; by the time they discover us, their home will already be burning in flames! Full speed ahead!"

The engine power of the White Scars ships was pushed to the limit, yet they cleverly utilized various cosmic phenomena to mask their trail.

Kaipa-777 Region, Fengqi Star Alliance "Swarm" defensive line.

Colonel Walton watched the fleet on the tactical screen, his Third Eye twitching for no reason.

Although there were slight differences from the Space Marine ships mentioned in the data, there was no doubt that these were the ships of the Space Marines from the data.

Only, they were not the same legion.

He had not expected that the Xiuluo Holy Star Alliance would have a second fleet like this.

"They... they are coming straight for us!"

Colonel Walton calmed down and issued orders.

"All units! Maximum combat readiness! 'Swarm' protocol, attack mode Alpha! Repeat, attack mode Alpha! Notify Norn Legion Commander of 'Fist of the Firmament' that the enemy's main force has appeared, and request support according to the plan!"

The order was quickly spread to the guerrilla clusters scattered everywhere via encrypted channels.

Missile positions hidden in the asteroid belt dropped their camouflage, energy turrets began to charge, and countless ships of all sizes swarmed out from their respective hiding spots, surrounding and harassing this enemy fleet that was thrusting straight into the core from all directions.

However, the Blood Angels' method of response left many Fengqi commanders feeling caught off guard.

They did not break through or evade the "Swarm's" harassment as expected.

They slowed their forward speed, and the fleet formation became even tighter.

The Void Shield Generators of all ships were at full power, forming a nearly tangible Energy Barrier around the fleet.

When the first wave of missile rain and energy beams from the asteroid belt struck that combined Void Shield, it stirred up ripples but failed to shake it in the slightest.

"Their shields... are too strong!"

Colonel Geluke exclaimed in the communication channel.

He saw with his own eyes several gunboats hidden behind meteorites being blown into fireworks by the Close-in Weapon System of a Blood Angels frigate when they approached to fire.

"Do not get close! Maintain distance! Use guerrilla tactics to wear them down!"

Colonel Liara ordered her Erasin speedboat fleet; those agile ships circled the giant Blood Angels ships, but the attacks they launched struggled to cause effective damage.

The Blood Angels Fleet paid no mind to the mosquito bites around them.

Any Fengqi ship that dared to enter effective range or show signs of threat would immediately be struck by several Blood Angels warships, often failing to survive more than a few volleys before becoming space debris.

"They are saving ammunition, looking for valuable targets..."

Colonel Walton's heart sank.

This kind of tactic meant that the opposing commander possessed extreme self-confidence and battlefield control.

Just then, the Communications Officer reported loudly.

"Colonel! Norn Legion Commander replied! The main force of 'Fist of the Firmament' has left the Karen Eye platform and is rushing to our battlefield! Expected to arrive in forty-five minutes!"

Upon hearing this, Walton hurriedly shouted.

"Quick! Tell them, tell them not to come here!"

"Angel" Bridge

Sanguinius gazed at the battlefield star map.

The light dots of the enemy "Swarm" units were constantly disappearing under the strikes of the Blood Angels Fleet.

"Large-scale high-energy units detected approaching, Father, characteristics match... suspected to be the enemy 'Guardian' Super Soldier main fleet."

Sanguinius nodded slightly.

"Finally here. Notify all ships to adjust fire distribution. It is time to let these Alien creations witness the Emperor's wrath."

Kaipa-777 Region, Dierda Xiaoxingxingdai, guerrilla cluster No. 9 hidden firing point.

Dingzi gripped the Energy Rifle in his hand, crouching behind a rock bunker that had been cut and reinforced, looking through the observation hole at the void outside, which was illuminated by starlight and the firelight of distant explosions.

Small spots of explosion light were constantly lighting up around that scarlet fleet.

"They... they don't care about us at all..."

Tiezha's voice sounded from the side.

Keerte growled.

"Shut up, Tiezha, do your job. Once our 'Guardians' arrive, the situation will reverse; there aren't many of them."

"Guardians..."

Dingzi muttered the word repeatedly, watching an Erasin speedboat that had approached to fire get blown into fragments by the dense artillery on the side of an enemy warship, turning into a cloud of metallic dust.

Their firing point was located inside a medium-sized asteroid, and after emergency modifications by Klim engineers, two automatic missile launchers and four twin-mounted medium Laser Cannon turrets had been installed inside.

A sudden alarm sounded within the relatively cramped firing point!

"Attention! Attention! Multiple high-energy individuals detected detaching from the enemy fleet! Approaching our asteroid belt at high speed! Identified as... enemy Super Soldier drop pods!"

The Fengqi Lieutenant at the firing point saw the vertical pupil on his forehead widen.

"What?! They've left the ship?! All units! Prepare to engage! Repeat, prepare to engage! Target, enemy landing units!"

Dingzi checked the Energy Rifle in his hands; the Energy Battery was full, and the chamber was clean.

The Laser Cannon operated by Tiezha emitted a faint humming sound as it charged.

Through the observation port, Dingzi saw burning meteors falling toward different locations in the asteroid belt.

Two of them, trailing scorching exhaust flames, were aimed directly at the area where they were located!

"They're here! Brace for impact!"

Lieutenant Feng Qi shouted loudly.

Boom!

A violent tremor came from overhead, the entire bunker was shaking, and the impact point was very close to them.

"Pinpoint the landing site! C Zone, outside of Passage Three!"

"Dingzi! Tiezhan! Group A, follow me! Everyone else, hold your positions and provide covering fire!"

Lieutenant Feng Qi raised his Energy Rifle and was the first to rush out of the main control room.

Dingzi and Tiezha exchanged a glance, both seeing fear in each other's eyes, but more so the instinct to obey orders. They followed closely behind the Lieutenant and several other Fengqi soldiers, rushing into the dim rock passage.

The sound of their hurried footsteps echoed through the passage.

As they approached the exit of Passage Three, a rhythmic sound of Bolter fire rang out, along with... the brief screams of soldiers before death.

"Quick!"

Lieutenant Feng Qi's expression changed, and he quickened his pace.

They rushed out of the passage exit and arrived at a cavern connected to an external docking platform.

An Automatic Cannon that had been deployed on the platform was already completely destroyed, and the twisted metal wreckage was still emitting wisps of smoke.

The corpses of five or six Fengqi soldiers lay in different positions; some had been torn in half by immense force, some had huge holes blown through their chests, and one... had its head missing.

And in the center of the platform, five figures stood beside a steaming drop pod.
