Chapter 966: The Collapse of the Swarm Firepoint (2)
"Fire! Fire!"
Lieutenant Feng Qi roared, and the energy rifle in his hands sprayed out beams of energy.
Dingzi also pulled the trigger, and blue energy beams shot toward those red giants.
Tiezha roared, and the heavy laser cannon shouldered by him fired a thick, crimson beam.
The energy beams struck those power armors, splashing up tiny sparks and leaving pits on the power armors.
Tiezha's heavy laser beam hit the target's chest, leaving a charred mark on the chest plate of that Blood Angels Space Marine.
"No... impossible..."
Tiezha muttered to himself, watching as his weapon failed to cause any damage.
Attracted by the attack from this side, that Blood Angels Space Marine holding a chainsword turned around and charged toward Dingzi and the others.
Thud! Thud! Thud!
That scarlet figure was closing in, and the pressure it brought made Dingzi feel suffocated.
Dingzi fired continuously, the energy beams striking the opponent's power armor.
Lieutenant Feng Qi threw an anti-personnel grenade.
The grenade rolled to the feet of that Blood Angels Space Marine and exploded; the leg armor of that Blood Angels Space Marine was blown open with several cracks, but his charging pace did not falter in the slightest.
Twenty meters! Ten meters!
"For Feng Qi!"
Lieutenant Feng Qi drew his vibration blade to make a final stand.
The next moment, the chainsword swept across with a shrill scream.
Splat!
The sound of flesh and bone being crushed by high-speed saw teeth.
Lieutenant Feng Qi, along with the vibration blade in his hand, was cut in half at the waist; his upper body flew out, and blood and internal organs splashed all over the ground.
"Lieutenant!"
Dingzi shouted loudly.
That Blood Angels Space Marine did not stop his footsteps and continued forward.
"Bastard! Come on!"
Tiezha dropped the overheated laser cannon, drew the combat axe from his waist, and launched a charge toward that red giant.
The Blood Angels Space Marine did not use his chainsword.
He extended that hand encased in power armor and grabbed the blade of the combat axe Tiezha swung down.
The axe blade struck the palm armor, emitting a crisp sound of metal clashing.
Then, the Blood Angel twisted his wrist.
Creak!
The metal handle of the combat axe was easily snapped.
Next, the other hand balled into a fist and struck forward.
Bang!
A muffled sound.
Tiezha's body paused, his chest caved in with a large pit, and the combat armor on his back shattered.
The light in Tiezha's eyes dimmed instantly, and his body fell straight backward.
"Tiezha!!!"
Dingzi watched as his fellow townsman was easily crushed to death, and despair enveloped his heart.
The remaining two Feng Qi soldiers were also finished off by bolters.
On the entire platform, only Dingzi remained, frozen in place due to extreme fear.
That Blood Angels Space Marine who killed Tiezha turned toward Dingzi.
Dingzi wanted to pull the trigger, but found that his fingers would not obey him at all.
He wanted to run, but his legs would not obey him.
He could only watch that red messenger of death walking toward him step by step.
Dingzi saw the opponent raise that chainsword with its saw teeth still spinning toward him.
"... Monster..."
This was the last thought that flashed through Dingzi's mind, followed by the shrill scream of the chainsword.
Sergeant Seraphim waved his arm, ending the last Alien giant who dared to charge, along with his ridiculous cold weapon.
That massive body fell to the ground, making a dull sound.
Seraphim's gaze swept across the platform, confirming that all overt threats had been cleared.
"Area cleared."
Seraphim reported through the squad communication channel.
"Received, Sergeant Seraphim. Continue executing the cleanup protocol; destroy all weapon platforms and control systems."
The company's order came through.
"Understood."
The members of Seraphim's squad immediately dispersed.
The brothers holding bolters were responsible for guarding potential passage entrances, while the Techmarine brothers walked toward those missile launchers and laser cannon turrets that were still operating.
"Uriel, handle the control nodes."
"Yes, Sergeant."
Techmarine Uriel walked to the main console, his fingers, encased in Power Armor, tapped a few times on the Alien interface, finding the core control system.
Uriel tore the panel open directly, shoved a Melta Bomb inside, and set the countdown.
"Azrael, demolish the support structures."
"Understood."
Another Blood Angels squad member took out the Directional Demolition Charge and placed it on several key load-bearing pillars of the cave.
Sergeant Seraphim walked to the edge of the platform, watching the Blood Angels Fleet outside resisting the endless harassment of the Alien "Swarm".
His Task was to pull out these annoying "nails".
Sergeant Seraphim looked down at the corpse of the Alien officer he had cut in two with one sword strike, and the giant next to it whose chest he had shattered with a single punch.
These creatures were commendable in their courage, but weak in strength.
Their weapons could not cause effective damage to the Blood Angels' Power Armor.
This was not a battle, but a purification, a clearing.
"Sergeant, the Explosive Device has been set."
Uriel reported.
"Evacuate."
Sergeant Seraphim ordered concisely.
The five Blood Angels Space Marines retreated to the Thunderhawk Gunship that had come to pick them up and departed.
As the engines of the Thunderhawk they were riding in started up and pulled away from the surface of this asteroid, muffled, consecutive explosions came from behind them.
The directional demolition destroyed the cave's support structures, and the entire fire point began to collapse inward, along with all the weapons, facilities, and Alien corpses inside, all turning into nothingness.
The Thunderhawk adjusted its direction and flew toward the next marked "Swarm" fire point.
For Seraphim and his squad, the Task was still continuing.
