A modern woman awakens in the body of Liu Li, the legitimate daughter of Emperor Wu of Han and Empress Chen Ajiao, who is widely regarded as a simpleton. Armed with her contemporary knowledge and a fierce determination to survive, she conceals her true intellect while navigating the treacherous politics of the Western Han court. As Empress Chen Ajiao mourns the loss of her real child, Liu Li must earn the Empress’s trust and avoid the suspicions of the sharp‑tongued palace maids.

Meanwhile, Emperor Wu’s growing favor toward Lady Wei and her unborn son threatens the status of the imperial princesses, and Liu Li finds herself caught between loyalty to her new family and the urge to alter the course of history. She struggles to master court etiquette, confronts the whispers that label her a fool, and begins to use her modern insights to subtly influence events—whether by advising on agriculture, medicine, or diplomacy—without revealing her secret. Amidst lavish banquets, tense audiences with the Queen Dowager, and the ever‑present danger of conspiracies, Liu Li strives to protect her mother’s heart, secure her own place in the palace, and perhaps rewrite the fate of the Han dynasty.
