Chapter 101: A Walk
Qin Ge, as the commander, was completely unaware of the discussion among his shipgirls, or rather, he never thought that a single Guanghui could cause such a situation.
However, if he knew that Guanghui intended to join his fleet, he would surely jump for joy.
After all, a fully leveled shipgirl absolutely improves a fleet's strength in every way—not just firepower, but also by teaching the less experienced shipgirls in the fleet.
However, just as Qin Ge was holding Guanghui's recent information and beginning to simulate tactics for the front-line camp, a hand slapped the table beside him.
"Don't overwork yourself… otherwise…… you——will——die——!"
A stern voice sounded from Qin Ge's side, making him look over in surprise—it was Prince Eugen staring at him with a stern expression.
"Huh… Prince Eugen?" Qin Ge said doubtfully.
"Take it easy; working like this every day is bad for your body. Don't you know that overusing your body will get you killed?" Prince Eugen said.
"But I just came across this data, so I wanted to study it a bit more." Qin Ge said to the domineering Prince Eugen who was staring at him.
"The data won't run away, and this isn't anything urgent, so now put these down—either go to sleep or accompany me for a walk, you choose." Prince Eugen said.
"Well..." Qin Ge, facing the well-reasoned and domineering Prince Eugen, said, "Then I won't do it; I'll just follow your words."
"So, Commander, are you choosing to sleep, or to accompany me for a walk?" Prince Eugen said.
"Ah? Then I'll just accompany you for a walk; I can't sleep right now." Although he wondered why Prince Eugen would still propose these two options even after he had stopped working, but following the principle of communicating more with his shipgirls, Qin Ge still agreed.
Thus, putting down the books and notebook in his hands, Qin Ge walked out of the room together with Prince Eugen.
Although it is already December, walking down the road in thin clothing does not feel cold.
Walking along the small path in the staff area, Qin Ge closely followed behind Prince Eugen, when he suddenly realized he didn't know what to say to Prince Eugen for a moment, and thus fell into a somewhat quiet atmosphere.
"Commander, has anyone ever told you that you can be really annoying sometimes?" Prince Eugen, seeing that Qin Ge had no intention to speak, then spoke to him.
"Huh?" Qin Ge, somewhat surprised, said to Prince Eugen, "In what way do I annoy people? Prince Eugen, tell me."
Seeing Qin Ge like this, Prince Eugen stopped walking, looked at him and said, "Your demeanor really reminds me of a friend; I wonder if there will ever be a chance to fight side by side with her again."
"A friend?" Qin Ge's mind turned, "Prince Eugen, you mean Bismarck, right?"
"As expected, the commander is sharp in this regard." Prince Eugen couldn't help but say, "It's indeed Bismarck; I don't know if the commander will be able to summon it when the time comes."
"That's hard to say." Qin Ge said, "Having summoned Vittorio Veneto this time is already extremely fortunate. As for summoning Bismarck and such, I don't have high hopes. But if possible, I'd also like to experience the bearing of that Iron Blood flagship."
That's Bismarck, after all. Even if one doesn't know the naval battles of World War II, nobody would be unaware of this legendary warship. Or rather, the ship's name originally came from that Iron Blood chancellor.
Perhaps the reason Iron Blood is called Iron Blood is because of that Iron Blood chancellor's policies. He once said that the era's major problems cannot be solved by speeches or majority votes, but only through iron and blood.
"Maybe you two could actually have a great conversation." Prince Eugen said, possessing similarly extraordinary strategic vision and likewise being quite clumsy in matters of the heart.
"Well, truth lies only within the range of the big guns—I totally agree with that!" Qin Ge exclaimed excitedly, "This world has no absolute justice; all justice is founded upon one's own strength."
"If one day we are defeated by the Sirens, then the Sirens can claim they are just and we are evil. After all, in this world only the victors can write history, and the key to maintaining victory is strong strength."
Prince Eugen looked at Qin Ge's appearance and, for a moment, actually became somewhat absent-minded.
"Prince Eugen?" Qin Ge, seeing Prince Eugen's absent-minded look, then said to her.
"Oh, I was a bit absent-minded." Prince Eugen said.
Qin Ge nodded; zoning out happens to everyone, so he didn't mind. Just looking at Prince Eugen's calm expression, he said to her, "However, I have a question I just can't figure out."
"What question?" Prince Eugen asked.
"From the day I summoned you until now, I've rarely seen you smile; Ayanami is expressionless, I know that, but why don't you smile?" Qin Ge asked.
"Lacking a smile?" Prince Eugen said, "Then Commander, want to give it a try? See if you can make me laugh?"
Hearing Prince Eugen's words, Qin Ge rubbed his nose, "But I rarely tell jokes……"
"Really?" Prince Eugen approached Qin Ge and said, "But I think the commander can tell a really funny joke."
"Ah? Then I'll give it a try……" Qin Ge said somewhat embarrassedly, "If the joke is lame, I hope you won't laugh at me."
Thus, Qin Ge began earnestly telling jokes. But how could a joke told earnestly possibly be funny?
However, Prince Eugen didn't explain; instead, he listened with great interest to Qin Ge's somewhat lame jokes. Because in those jokes he heard sincerity, with no pretense.
Suddenly, that utterly empty heart actually felt a hint of pleasure. It seemed like mockery of Qin Ge's jokes, yet also seemed like acknowledgment of him.
Thus, the two didn't go far outside, but they stayed out for a long time……
The next day, Qin Ge got up very early, finished his mandatory morning exercise, and then returned to his room to start eating breakfast.
As for why he now eats breakfast in his room instead of the cafeteria, it's because during that period, due to writing his book, he often missed meal times or simply forgot to eat.
Thus Belfast took it upon herself to bring back the food needed for everyone from the cafeteria, and then they all ate together in the room, so there was no need to worry about Qin Ge forgetting to eat.
Thus this habit has continued to this day……
