Chapter 613: Driving

While Observer was constructing the beacon and singularity, Qin Ge had no idea whatsoever about what was happening on the Sirens' side; at this moment, the entire port area was preparing for the impending Siren Tide.

"Commander, these are today's documents; please review them." Early in the morning, Hai Lun Na brought the documents Qin Ge needed to him.

Qin Ge took the documents with a smile and said to Hai Lun Na, "Actually, there's no need for you to come so quickly; you've been busy these days, and after the Purifiers left, you can rest a day or two before continuing your secretary ship work."

Hai Lun Na shook her head, "Commander, the other sisters are all working hard; if I rested, it would seem too lazy."

Moreover, the work over the past period hasn't been tiring; it mainly involved grasping and absorbing the knowledge the Purifiers spoke about regarding modifications, and recently just reviewing and practicing is enough, so I don't need much rest.

Qin Ge looked at the stubborn Hai Lun Na and couldn't help sighing, standing up and walking to her side, "You always set your standards too high for yourself. Although the situation is relatively urgent now, a little rest won't affect the overall picture."

"Commander..." Hai Lun Na shook her head, "Actually, the secretary ship work is quite easy, so this can count as rest, and I like the feeling of staying by your side; seeing you calms my heart."

Qin Ge smiled and said, "So is this my special function? Anyway, compared to before, you're doing much better now—at least I can often see your smile these days."

Hai Lun Na lowered her head somewhat shyly, "All this time, I've made you worry. But it's all because you've been by my side, encouraging and taking care of me, that I've become who I am today."

"Hehe, I'm also glad to help you, and seeing you like this is really nice." Qin Ge smiled, then reached out and rubbed Hai Lun Na's head, "I'll try to finish work early today, and then we can go explore the island together."

"So does this count as you inviting me on a date, Commander?" Hai Lun Na said somewhat excitedly.

Qin Ge nodded, "Of course, and I had already promised you that once you're done with your work, I'd take you on a date. Now I'm fulfilling that promise, and I also want to take this opportunity to get to know you better, Hai Lun Na."

"All right." Hai Lun Na said happily, "I also have a lot I want to say to you, Commander."

Qin Ge chuckled, "That's great then—let's work hard now, finish early, and we'll head out sooner."

With the date as a goal, the two worked more diligently. The morning's work didn't take long; as soon as the clock passed ten, they had finished reviewing all the documents.

After leaving the office, Hai Lun Na looked at Qin Ge with a puzzled expression and asked, "Commander, I just saw you take the car keys? Are you planning to drive on patrol?"

Qin Ge shook his head, "No, I just plan to drive to the island's other three ports after the patrol to have a look, and if there's a nice spot on the island, we'll stop and play together."

"Is that so? That sounds really exciting." Hai Lun Na said with a smile.

"I'm equally excited; since coming to the island I haven't visited those few ports yet, only getting basic info from the daily documents. Today I'll take this opportunity to go check them out." Qin Ge smiled.

The patrol of the port area was quickly finished, since everyone in the port area is currently preparing for this Siren Tide, and at this time basically everyone is at their work stations.

Thus, as Qin Ge and Hai Lun Na patrolled the port area, at each location someone reported the current situation, making it go quite smoothly.

After finishing the port patrol, the time was past eleven. The two went to the cafeteria together to eat something, and Qin Ge also discovered that he had packed some desserts and bento-like items into his ship equipment space.

After making preparations, Qin Ge and Hai Lun Na went together to the port area's garage. This was also purchased by Bisimai from Mingshi after the roads in the port area had been paved by Man Jiu.

Among them, there were two off-road vehicles, three sports cars, plus four buses (two large and two small), and some motorcycles.

This is to allow the ship girls to quickly reach the other ports, or to meet daily operational needs.

The key to one of the off-road vehicles was personally handed to Qin Ge by Bisimai as his dedicated ride. That's why Qin Ge took the key from his office drawer, since the keys to the other vehicles are always left in the vehicles and never taken out.

As Qin Ge opened the car door and Hai Lun Na got in together, after they were seated and he successfully turned the key to start the engine, Qin Ge looked at the interior decor and couldn't help but smile, saying, "It's been a long time since I've driven; I estimate my skills are a bit rusty now, so Hai Lun Na, please fasten your seatbelt."

"Saint Louis Sis has excellent driving skills, Commander, did you see that blue sports car beside us? That's the car she often drives, and I occasionally drive it too." Hai Lun Na pointed to a blue sports car nearby and said to Qin Ge.

"Ha, looks like I still don't know you all that well." Qin Ge smiled, "But now isn't the time to talk about that—we're ready to hit the road."
