Chapter 918: Shipwide Hegemony
The car drove along the island's highway, arriving at the eastern port area where Li Chenming was stationed in just a few tens of minutes.
Compared to the previous temporary observation post, this place has completely changed; although its scale is not as large as Qin Ge's port area, it is definitely larger than a typical fleet base.
Originally, when Li Chenming applied, he planned to build it small, prioritizing practicality. But Qin Ge replied grandly, "This island is ours; we can build it however we want. Moreover, the steel needed to construct a port area isn't even enough to convert a destroyer, so there's no need to save on this expense."
"Eh." Li Chenming resignedly followed the original plan and began construction. Now, besides the comprehensive office building, the port area has all facilities such as entertainment venues and cafeterias.
As the car just stopped at the entrance, a shipgirl came forward and immediately saw Qin Ge sitting in the front passenger seat.
"Commander!" the shipgirl exclaimed, instantly raising her hand in a salute.
Qin Ge returned the salute, then smiled and said, "Hello, Gneisenau. Is Vice Commander Li Chenming currently at the port area?"
"He's here, but I don't know where the commander is right now. Shall I call him to ask?" Gneisenau smiled.
"If that's the case, that would be great," Qin Ge laughed.
"Commander, please wait a moment," Gneisenau said, then walked to a nearby guard post, picked up the phone, and began making contact.
Not long after, she came out and told Qin Ge, "I've already contacted the commander; he and several other commanders will be waiting for you at the office building entrance, so please drive straight in."
"Okay, I understand," Qin Ge nodded.
Soon, Gneisenau opened the port area's gate, and Belfast drove the car inside.
Just like Qin Ge's port area, this one had already hung Spring Festival-related lanterns and decorations, making the whole route look lively and prosperous.
Soon the two drove to the office building entrance, where they saw three people standing there, all smiling.
Qin Ge stepped out of the car and smiled at the three, saying, "Ha, happy new year, everyone."
Li Chenming and the others also laughed as they approached, saying, "Happy new year, Commander."
"Commander, you didn't come over just to give us new year greetings, did you? By rights, we should be the ones going to greet you first," Zhang Xiaotian laughed.
"Heh, why all the formalities with me? It's the same whoever greets whom," Qin Ge laughed helplessly.
"That's true, but why would the commander come empty-handed?" Li Chenming joked with a laugh.
Qin Ge rolled his eyes, "Do you think I'm the kind of person who shows up empty-handed? I brought you some nice things."
Saying that, he had Belfast bring out a few bottles of wine, "This is the wine I received from the Soviet Russia and Jean Bart when I visited the Northern Union and Iris earlier; my shipgirls say it's quite good, so I brought some for you to enjoy a little during the New Year."
"Oh?" Li Chenming laughed as he took it, seeing the simple packaging and knowing it was something good, "Brothers, it looks like we're in luck today."
"Heh, with the commander's hand, how could the stuff be bad?" Chen Bo Jun laughed.
"By the way, I previously saw a sudden burst of colorful light in your port area—did you summon something again?" Li Chenming suddenly thought of something, staring at Qin Ge and asking.
"Eh, yes." Qin Ge nodded, "After all, it's been a whole year, and today is the last day of the year—like doing a summary, while there's still time, I'm using up all this year's luck."
I didn't expect to summon a maritime legend all at once; it seems the decision to summon was correct.
"You guy, while others understand maritime legends only as myths, your port area not only has them but now has dozens—truly sigh-inducing."
"By the way, who did you summon this morning? How strong is its combat power?" Li Chenming said helplessly.
"The Royal Navy Armored Carrier Grudge; although I don't know her true strength, as a maritime legend she's likely not weak," Qin Ge said.
"Eh... a Royal Navy carrier? That's enough to make one envy to tears!" Li Chenming said, wiping the saliva from the corner of his mouth.
Chen Bo Jun rolled his eyes, "If you're going to cry, wipe your eyes, not the corner of your mouth. And you're not lacking—isn't the Royal Ark a Royal Navy carrier? Plus, its combat power is that strong!"
Li Chenming's face turned green all at once, "Is the Royal Ark comparable to the Glorious Class?"
Qin Ge looked at the lively bunch bickering, couldn't help but smile, but suddenly thought of something, turning his head to Belfast: "Belfast, I suddenly remembered—where is our fleet's Royal Ark? Why haven't I seen her lately?"
Belfast smiled, "Have you forgotten, Master? The Royal Ark is currently in our port area's brig, and both of them are there."
"The brig?" Qin Ge blinked, "Cough, does that mean they've been locked up since that swimsuit event?"
"Of course, without your order, no one would let them out," Belfast said righteously.
"Cough, although they indeed made a mistake, a little punishment is enough; there's no need to keep them confined. When you go back, just head to the brig and let them out."
"However, tell them that if anything similar happens again, I won't show any leniency," Qin Ge said after thinking.
"Yes, I understand, Master," Belfast laughed.
Turning his head again to the still-bickering few, Qin Ge smiled, "Well, although you say that, each of you treats them as treasures—I can't possibly be unaware of your thoughts."
"Hey, Commander, you're perceptive," they said with laughter.
"By the way, are the New Year preparations ready? Tonight, are you planning to celebrate together as three, or each with your own shipgirls?" Qin Ge asked.
"Originally we planned to celebrate together, but the three of us, scrambling for ideas, couldn't come up with much of a program, so we might as well each celebrate with our own shipgirls."
"That way we can all gather, chat, and even perform some programs; it feels unexpectedly not bad," Zhang Xiaodao said.
"That's good; actually I'd like that too, but now I have too many shipgirls under me, so leisurely celebrating like that is no longer allowed," Qin Ge sighed.
"Can I treat this as Versailles?" Li Chenming said helplessly, then quickly laughed, "By the way, the commander might possibly be the first among us commanders to achieve shipwide hegemony."
Qin Ge blinked, "Shipwide hegemony?"
"Exactly, it means possessing all types of shipgirls; this is a term Zhang Xiaotian recently invented, though for him it's just a dream," Chen Bo Jun said speechlessly.
"I never said I would achieve it; can't one even dream?" Zhang Xiaotian rolled his eyes.
Qin Ge laughed, "Ha, as long as you have the will, I think it's still possible."
Exactly!
