Chapter 919: First, Cover Your Eyes
Having gone west, then south, then north and back home, it was already afternoon, and Qin Ge felt much more at ease.
Previously, with ambitious aspirations to build a grand fleet, I had thought I could lead everyone to the front line to achieve great deeds, but unexpectedly it turned out like this; all I can say is that sometimes it really is a matter of timing and fate.
However, I have accomplished what I needed to do; in just a few years, the strength commanded by my grand fleet, excluding myself, is already not inferior to any grand fleet.
If I include myself, my grand fleet should already be the strongest naval force in the world.
But when all this ends, will they really be able to return to their original lives?
Qin Ge sat in the car feeling somewhat lost; although this feeling could not shake his will at all, it still gave him a sense of regret. If he were also one of these people, when all this ends, what would he do?
Is it to live in seclusion with his beloved shipgirls, or something else?
But thinking about these now is useless, because what is imminent is how to make a good plan for the final battle.
As the sky gradually darkened, Qin Ge began changing into formal attire in his room under Guanghui's care. As for why Belfast wasn't there, that was of course Guanghui's intention.
"Actually, just having Belfast come would be enough." Qin Ge said, smiling as he watched Guanghui tidy his clothes.
"Although Belfast is the commander's personal maid, I am more the commander's marriage ship; New Year's Eve should be a very meaningful day for the commander, so being able to tidy your clothes at this time and go to the venue together would make me very happy." Guanghui said with a smile.
Qin Ge couldn't help but smile, "Alright, you've convinced me. But speaking of which, when I returned this afternoon, I saw fewer people on the road; could it be that everyone went to the venue to help?"
Guanghui blinked and said, "Yes, because we have more people this year, so there's more to prepare."
Qin Ge nodded, "Indeed."
"Commander, it's all set; take a look and see if it's okay? If so, we can set off." Guanghui said.
Qin Ge looked at himself in the mirror and smiled, saying, "I originally wanted to say it's already good enough. But I worried I might not meet your standards, Guanghui, so I held back from saying it; since that's the case, let's set off."
"Hehe, let's go, Commander." Guanghui said with a laugh.
Immediately the two walked toward the outside together, but when they reached the corridor, Qin Ge found the whole building unexpectedly tranquil, and couldn't help wondering, "Did everyone already go to the venue this early? It wasn't like that before, was it?"
"Perhaps everyone prepared a program this year? So they went there to rehearse again, striving to show their best side to the commander." Guanghui laughed.
"Is that so?" Qin Ge stroked his chin, "When I was in the stadium earlier, giving them a run-through, I thought there were already quite a few people. I didn't expect everyone now to have prepared a program; so Guanghui, have you prepared something?"
"Hehe, of course I've prepared something; Commander, can you guess what my program is?" Guanghui laughed.
"I don't know; if I were to guess, it would probably be dance or song? Surely Guanghui wouldn't go perform acrobatics." Qin Ge smiled, looking at Guanghui's chest.
"Ugh... Commander just knows how to bully me; you clearly like that there." Guanghui said, blushing slightly.
"Cough, speaking seriously, so what program did you prepare? Singing or dancing? I remember Guanghui, you sing pretty well; although not as good as Listek Star Dun, you're absolutely idol-level." Qin Ge laughed.
"Hehe, of course; I did learn from a teacher." Guanghui said with a smile, "But as for what specific program tonight, I still won't tell the commander first; you'll find out when the time comes."
"But what program have you prepared, Commander? Later they'll surely clamor to watch you perform; it's been like that every year, surely you haven't gone unprepared this year?"
"I've prepared some things; actually, that's about all I can do. Every year you guys drain a bit from me, and sooner or later I'll be emptied out." Qin Ge laughed.
"That's not necessarily true; for someone as learned as the commander, how could they be emptied so easily? And even if they were emptied, I think given the commander's personality, they'd definitely go learn something new." Guanghui said.
"Ha, maybe."
While they were talking, the two had already arrived downstairs; Qin Ge began walking straight toward the banquet hall in the cafeteria, after all previous banquets were held there, so it was quite familiar.
But after just two steps, Guanghui called out, "Commander, this year's celebration venue has changed; it's no longer there."
Qin Ge startled, "Ah? We're not in the banquet hall? But nobody told me, and besides, the documents Yixian sent earlier also listed the banquet requirements."
"That's because the banquet hall couldn't accommodate that many people, and besides, there's no need to inform the commander about such things, so we settled it privately ourselves." Guanghui said.
"Alright, then where is it this time? Besides the banquet hall, I can't think of anywhere else that could hold that many people." Qin Ge wondered.
"Hehe, let me keep it a secret for now." Guanghui laughed, then raised her hand, revealing a pure white gauze scarf, "Commander, because that place is rather mysterious, could you please cover your eyes before we go there?"
"Huh?" Qin Ge looked at Guanghui, bewildered, "Why do I have to cover my eyes? Does that mean I still can't know even now?"
"Nope, Commander, please forgive me for being willful this time." Guanghui laughed.
Qin Ge smiled helplessly, took the silk scarf from Guanghui's hand, and tied it over his eyes; although his vision was shrouded in darkness, the faint fragrance on the scarf made the darkness not frightening.
"I just felt the previous Gangqu was weird; so what exactly have you cooked up behind my back?"
Guanghui laughed while taking Qin Ge's hand, "By then the commander will know; just keep your heart full of anticipation."
"Alright, then I'll entrust myself to you tonight; if you drag me off to be sold, I'll have no choice but to accept." Qin Ge joked.
"But everyone would be reluctant to let you go." Guanghui said with a laugh.
In the darkness, Qin Ge felt a clear bell ring approach from afar until it stopped not far beside him.
Then a familiar voice sounded, "Guanghui, come sit together with the commander; everyone's already ready."
"Thanks, Vanguard." Guanghui's voice reached his ears, and then Qin Ge heard Guanghui say, "Commander, come on."
"Oh."
