Chapter 1993: Lighting the Wondrous Dream in the Heart (Part 23)
The Hollywood area is actually relatively small, and there are not as many amusement projects as in the Magic Kingdom, so the group went straight to the Star Wars area as soon as they left the central square, and then Schiller saw so many Americans gathered together for the first time.
The United States is completely vast and sparsely populated, and it is an immigrant country. You can guess which country they are immigrants from by the dress of pedestrians on the street, but Schiller is very sure that so many people gathered in the queue in front of them are all old Americans with stars and stripes.
The scene of queuing in front made Schiller recall the railway station during the Spring Festival. It is really not an exaggeration. Everyone in front of them is squeezed together with others, which is like dominoes.
And before they could rejoice that they had the super-channel privilege, they found that the super-fast channel was also full of people, blocked tightly.
"Well, since you are here for this, there is no reason not to queue." Steve sighed, shook his head and said: "Let's go, go queue."
This queue lasted for a full three hours.
They queued from morning to noon. Originally, the first half was indeed queuing at the super-channel, and it would be their turn in about half an hour, but just when they were about to be their turn, Captain America found a little boy with crutches in the crowded crowd sweating profusely, and the injured foot didn't look stable.
After communicating with their parents, they learned that this child was born with a disability in one leg and could only go out with crutches. Steve, after obtaining the consent of others, gave his super-fast channel permission to them.
However, it was a bit dangerous for the little boy to go in alone. The staff hoped that his parents would accompany him, so the others also gave their super-channel permission to their family. After receiving the applause of other queuers and a large pile of badges sent by the staff, they returned to the ordinary queue to queue again.
And what was better this time was that the little boy's family who came out after playing bought them cold drinks. The group chatted while eating ice cream, and didn't feel very bored.
Especially T'Challa had a belly of words to say about the future planning of Wakanda, and many people who recognized Steve came to ask him for autographs, so three hours passed like this.
The name of this project is Star Wars. The way to play is to ride a trackless warship and shuttle through the scenes of Star Wars. The scene is very exquisite and has a sense of substitution, but the weightlessness of the warship's ups and downs is still quite fierce.
After coming out, Ororo covered her chest and said: "Thank the Kree for not making their warships like this, otherwise, just going to the Andromeda Galaxy, I would have to vomit three times."
T'Challa smiled at her side, while gently stroking her back and said: "That's because the route from Earth to the Andromeda capital star is already very mature, and there will be no sudden attacks and bumps."
"If you take a Wakanda spaceship during battle, you will want to vomit the meal you ate at noon yesterday. Even the most advanced flight facilities are difficult to avoid bumps in short-term acceleration and weightlessness during rapid descent."
Ororo exhaled a long breath, fanned with her hand and said: "If you want to play again, just go, I will rest for a while on the side."
"I heard there are many good peripheral shops nearby." Schiller proposed: "We can buy some cold drinks, rest while shopping, and then go to play the next project."
Everyone agreed with this proposal, so they went to the snack stall to buy something to eat. On the way, Steve took a Star Wars area map from the side.
Then they discovered that this entire Star Wars theme park has a main story.
The story can be roughly summarized as: this is a small, inconspicuous planet on the edge of the galaxy, called Batuu. Originally, this was a bridgehead for interstellar trade in the galaxy, but because various civilizations in the galaxy developed rapidly, Batuu failed to grasp the opportunities of the era, so it fell behind and was replaced by other more prosperous planets.
The current Batuu has become a fallen star, but it has also become a safe haven for people who are tired of interstellar fighting. There are still many interstellar merchants, smugglers, wanted criminals, and other people from all walks of life active here.
Following the guidance of the main story, Steve's group went to the clothing store first, and then found that there are many classic costumes of the Star Wars series here, including Jedi Order, smugglers, and other character costumes. Schiller also saw a classic "I am your father" black cloak.
Of course, there is no shortage of weapon shops. After leaving the Black Spire Outpost of Batuu, they came to a mysterious weapon studio. It is located in a desolate cave and seems to be a secret base for a smuggling group to steal and modify weapons.
And what surprised Schiller a bit was that although they sell lightsabers here, they actually sell assembleable lightsabers.
Simply put, it is not a fluorescent stick that lights up when pressed. You can choose the handle style, shell shape, light color, switch style, and even the handle screw, the sculpture decoration at the end of the sword, and the small pendant that can be tied to the sword handle can be freely selected.
Seeing this, the group was no longer sleepy. Schiller began to pick and choose among all kinds of parts, and finally chose a bright silver handle, a metal silver screw of the same material, a red lights
"I hate this thing," the shopkeeper in a cloak grumbled. "They chased me for a long time back then, but since you want it, suit yourself."
The lightsaber Steve created was much more cheerful; most of the parts used were white, and the blade was blue, making it very modern and full of a technological feel.
T'Challa, on the other hand, insisted on using parts in the style of smugglers to assemble an African-style laser sword. Specifically: the handle's casing was a faux-wood dark brown, the screw caps were wrapped in thin twine, and the tail end had ornaments made of polished bone hanging from it, while the blade was a vibrant orange.
T'Challa and Ororo looked at the work they had completed together, feeling quite satisfied.
T'Challa even specifically picked up his Wakandan laser spear to compare it, then assembled a lightsaber similar to the Wakandan mechanical style.
The surrounding tourists were all attracted by the cool laser spear, while the shopkeeper lowered his voice and said quite impatiently, "Don't ask anymore. I don't have what he's holding in his hand. Heaven knows how one would evade the Legion's pursuit while carrying such a high-profile weapon, not to mention that bunch of annoying Jedi..."
The group carried their full haul to the front desk to pay. Steve felt a pang of pain at the price, but once he remembered it was all being reimbursed, he became happy again. T'Challa nodded and said, "The price isn't expensive. They previously wanted to open a special animal amusement park near Wakanda, but my father didn't agree; he doesn't really like Americans."
"That makes sense," Ororo rolled her eyes slightly and said, "They just wanted to plot to seize your resources. They don't understand animals, nor do they understand Africa."
T'Challa smiled to soothe his fiancée and said, "I mean we could open an amusement park of our own, African-style, Wakandan-style."
"Did you see? The tourists just now really liked our weapons. I believe they will surely be won over by the demeanor of our brave warriors. This is a good opportunity to promote Wakanda to the world."
"And it's not just Wakanda; the Voodoo culture of the Monroe family in Kenya is also very attractive. People in modern society just really like these ancient and mysterious things."
Shiler nodded in approval. Having been in the Marvel Universe for so long, he hadn't had the time to take a trip to Wakanda and other African countries yet, but perhaps T'Challa's wedding wasn't far off, and they could go together then.
As they walked out of the shop, Steve joked, "We can't let Tony come here, otherwise he'll be rambling about his experiences in Afghanistan the whole time again."
Shiler and T'Challa both laughed, because the environment of that cave just now did indeed look a bit like Afghanistan, and assembling weapons and such would surely stir up many bad memories for Stark.
As it turned out, they ran into Stark at the very next shop.
This was a shop called the Droid Depot, which was also the most unique shop in the entire Star Wars zone, because it was a workshop where one could assemble their own exclusive droid.
Much like a Lego studio, there were a vast number of droid parts, blueprints, and chips here, along with all sorts of tutorials and technical manuals, plus dedicated staff to provide hands-on guidance.
In the main storyline, the group that arrived on Batuu, after changing into local clothes to blend in with the local populace and secretly obtaining weapons, believed it necessary to utilize the special droid technology on Batuu to scout the tracks of the pursuers behind them.
Thus, they found an abandoned droid depot filled with parts and met a friendly scientist there. Under the scientist's guidance, they obtained their first scout droid.
This depot had rows upon rows of cabinets on both sides, a bit like vending machines. After obtaining parts from inside, one could take them to be assembled. After the group walked in, they ran straight into Stark, who was holding a huge pile of parts.
Stark looked at the group walking in with some shock, and was even somewhat flustered, wanting to turn around and hide, but he was still spotted by the sharp-eyed Steve.
"Tony, why are you here?"
"Keep your voice down!" Tony lowered his voice, pushed his sunglasses up firmly, and then said, "If the people here knew that the world's most genius scientist, Stark, was competing on the same level as them, they would cry."
"Are you planning to assemble these little gadgets?" Steve looked left and right and said, "They look about the same as those building blocks called Legos, just a bit rounder. Want to join us?"
"I don't need you lot," Stark said viciously. "With you by my side, my IQ is being dragged down. Hurry up and get lost; I'm going to revive the mechanical engineering technology of Batuu all by myself!"
The shop assistant, who was supposed to be playing the scientist, watched with amusement from the side. He clearly recognized Captain America and Iron Man. It wasn't until Stark wanted to leave in a huff that the assistant smiled, walked up to stop him, and took him along to assemble droids.
However, the droids in this shop were not as aggressive as those in robot combat competitions, and it wasn't easy to stage spectacular duels; they were more geared toward children. After playing for a while, Stark felt it was boring, so he left the shop with Steve and the others.
Only Ororo bought a droid that Stark had assembled, saying, "My nephew is a fan of yours. He has always wanted to buy a suit of armor like yours, and he really likes droids. If I tell him this droid was assembled by you, he'll be thrilled."
Stark immediately snapped his fingers and said, "I'll find a marker to sign it for him in a moment. Remember not to spread it around, otherwise Pepper will be looking for trouble with me again."
Then they arrived at the Creature Stall, which housed rare pets from across the universe collected by the shopkeeper Bina. The protagonist group came here to look for good companions for their adventure.
But while they were called pets, they were actually plush toys. However, compared to the cute plushies of classic characters in the Magic Kingdom, the plush toys here were a bit "ugly-cute."
Shiler took a fancy to a small monster doll that looked a bit like the big-eyed creature from League of Legends.
As soon as Steve saw it, he said, "You must not let Stephen see this thing. I heard him say there is an eyeball monster called Shuma that is a rival of his teacher's. I guess the two of them must look very similar."
Shiler decisively bought it.
