Chapter 1996
On the edge of the galaxy, in the pitch-black space, a huge warship was anchored. In one of the cabins of the warship, Rocket Raccoon was pacing back and forth in frustration.
"How long are we going to wait here? Why do you, an Earthling, need the permission of aliens to return to your hometown?"
Peter, sitting on the side and stroking an orange cat in his hand, said, "Although my race is human, I am a member of the Ravagers after all. Thor has no obligation to let an interstellar pirate into his country. This is the case for any civilization in this universe."
Mantis, who was pulled into the Guardians of the Galaxy by Adam's speed-run strategy, was rubbing the back of Groot, who was also pulled in. Gamora and Drax, who were also pulled in at that time, were playing with marbles on the table.
"Alright, Rocket, stop complaining." Gamora sighed and said, "It's not easy to be an independent mercenary group. We still have to rely on Peter's dad to give us orders."
"What is an independent mercenary group for?" Rocket jumped onto the table, spread his hands, and stared wide-eyed at the group, saying, "Isn't it just so we don't have to be restricted by others and can have freedom?"
"But a mercenary group is meant to run errands for others." Quill shrugged and said, "Waiting for the employer's dispatch is a normal phenomenon. You just have to learn to accept it."
"And I advise you not to provoke Yondu. He's been particularly irritable lately." Quill reached out and took the marbles the two were playing with, causing everyone else to look at him.
"The situation with the Ravagers is very bad. The Shi'ar Empire doesn't know what kind of sickness they've caught, and they've started to purge the nobles of the Feathered race. Their queen seems to want to become a true emperor and no longer gives face to those elders."
"You all know that the Ravagers originally started by smuggling resources and treasures for the nobles of the Shi'ar Empire. Now that those corrupt nobles have been killed off, business is getting worse and worse."
"As a result, that purple-skinned mad Titan doesn't know how he convinced the leaders of the three major empires to build a security network in the Ring Sector, and even invited crazier mutants to help. Several of the Ravagers' scout ships were unlucky and all crashed on the edge of the Ring Sector."
"The fixed source of orders is gone, and they've been excluded from the largest shipping area. You tell me how this business can be done. The Ravagers are complaining from top to bottom, and Yondu is so angry he has a headache."
"Can't you just stop being interstellar pirates?" Gamora frowned and said, "You all know my father Thanos is a madman, yet you still don't believe he would take ruthless action against those who hinder his career? You'd better remind your adoptive father to be careful. Thanos can never turn over a new leaf. If he looks like he has, it just proves he has greater ambitions."
"I heard you have a sister." Rocket Raccoon asked, touching a sore spot, and said, "Are you two close?"
Gamora pursed her lips and didn't speak. Drax, who had a bad temper, slammed the table and said, "I'm also tired of waiting here. If not, we'll steal a small spaceship and go near Earth to see the situation. Relying on those losers the blue-skinned guy threw down is hopeless."
Just at this moment, the door to their room was knocked. Quill walked over to open the door and found that Yondu had come in person.
"Things are a bit wrong, little brats. Take your gear and go to Earth in person. There are some tricky troubles that need you to solve."
Several people immediately gathered around. Yondu looked left and right, then lowered his voice and said, "The location Loki asked me to find really has a problem. It looks like a gathering area for aliens hiding on Earth, with quite a few smugglers and information brokers."
"My subordinates asked them for some information about the current situation in the Ring Sector, but you know how useless those giggling deck cleaners are. They couldn't get the information I wanted at all."
"Now, I, Yondu, leader of the Ravagers, hire you to go to Earth, go to the designated location to ask for the information I want. It would be even better if you could catch someone, but be careful. It's best not to be discovered by Loki that I came early. I can't beat those brutes from Asgard."
"Asking for information is fine, catching people is out of the question." Quill decisively refused and said, "Do you really think Earth's superheroes are just for show? I can't beat them either."
The father and son stared at each other for a long time. In the end, Yondu compromised and said, "You really are my good boy, go."
So, in Adam's speed-run plan, the Guardians of the Galaxy, who were quickly assembled, flew to Earth in a small spaceship provided by Yondu, swaying and wobbling.
Rocket Raccoon was transcoding the Earth encoding provided by Yondu. While typing on the keyboard, he cursed, "What time is it for this old antique to still be using geodetic coordinates? And you humans, why is the language used by the satellite system different? Where did this text, which looks as winding as Groot's tendons, come from?"
Quill leaned over to take a look and said, "Oh, that should be Russian. This side is Chinese, I can't understand this either. Found it, this is English, you can connect directly to Google's satellite."
Rocket Raccoon operated for a while longer, obviously not going well. He was so angry he smashed the panel and cursed at Quill, "Can you put down that yellow creature in your hand? You've been holding it since you picked it up. What magic does it have?"
"Hey, it's not a yellow creature, it's a cute little kitty." Quill made a 'tsk-tsk-tsk' sound in his mouth to attract the orange cat's attention.
Rocket Raccoon let out a long sigh and said, "I told you, didn't I? This thing is not a cat."
"But it's clearly an orange cat."
"It is..."
Rocket stopped halfway, then shook his head and said, "After you see its true face, you will regret it. It is the kind of thing that disgusts you the most."
Gamora's eyes kept turning between Rocket Raccoon and Peter. She leaned on Groot and said, "He doesn't want to hurt his heart. What a cute little furry thing."
"If you have nothing to do, come over and help!" Rocket shouted irritably.
Not long after, Rocket finally finished positioning. Quill leaned over to take a look and said, "So it's in Orlando. Why choose such a place? New York would be so much more convenient."
"Wait, isn't this Disney? Loki and Yondu agreed to meet at Disney. What are these two going crazy for?"
"Didn't that blue-skinned guy say there was some alien gathering area?" Rocket Raccoon looked at Quill with some confusion, then looked down at the satellite map and said, "It does look like a gathering area, the functional areas are all very complete."
"What gathering area? This is Disney World! It's a large amusement park. I went to the one in California when I was still in school."
Quill suddenly froze, because he obviously found some clues in his memory. He stared at the map and said, "That group of stupid deck cleaners wouldn't have mistaken the dolls in the park for aliens, would they?! Those are played by humans!"
"No." Gamora immediately shook her head, stepped forward, looked at the map, and said, "Have you forgotten? Yondu said that the people he sent out asked for information about the current situation in the Ring Sector here. Ordinary Earthlings are still surface creatures and have never left their mother planet. How could they possibly know about the Ring Sector? It's impossible that all the superheroes who have walked out of the universe have gathered here, right?"
Quill was also a bit confused. In the end, Rocket Raccoon slammed the table and said, "What exactly is going on, we'll know when we go down and see. Don't forget, I have biological detection functions."
"I really don't know when I'll be able to talk about the abilities I gained in my past experiences as unreservedly as you." Gamora only said the last sentence, and the group set off for Earth.
Of course, they couldn't fly directly into Earth. Although the magic defense network didn't block aircraft, the large pile of equipment near Mercury still scared them.
Only Rocket on the ship had some technical means, but he hadn't reached Stark's level. He thought it might be a turret deployed by humans. Although Quill thought humans didn't have such high-level technology, for the sake of safety, they still parked the spaceship further away.
Under Groot's protection, the group first landed in the wilderness of Florida, found the nearest scrapyard, pried open a car, and drove to the entrance of Disneyland.
Then the group stood outside the gate, staring at each other.
"Uh, shouldn't we buy tickets?" Gamora looked inside and said, "We shouldn't be able to get in without tickets, right?"
Everyone looked at Quill. Quill looked back at them with some confusion and said, "Why are you looking at me?"
"We don't have Earth currency, we're all counting on you."
"Do you really want to buy tickets to get in?" Quill said in a bit of a breakdown, "Not to mention how expensive the tickets for Disneyland are, I don't have that much money. How could you pass the security check looking like that?"
So the group had to choose to sneak in.
Of course, there was a fence around Disneyland. Those landscape facilities that were difficult for humans to climb were not a problem for the Guardians of the Galaxy.
Rocket, who was the last to climb to the top of the mountain, lowered a rope and let Quill climb up. The group arrived at the Star Wars area indicated by the coordinates at the fastest speed.
"You have to be careful about the deck cleaners we're meeting later. This is interstellar pirate slang, because they are unwelcome outcasts, and the reason they are unwelcome is that they might be spies for the Nova Corps or other pirate groups."
Quill urged as he walked, "If Yondu clears them out, they will send new people, so it's better to marginalize them and let them stay honestly. It would be even better if we could let others kill them with a borrowed knife."
Rocket Raccoon shouldered his weapon and said, "I saw who they were a long time ago, but you're the one who should be careful. Those who aren't outcasts might not be safe either."
Quill always felt that Rocket Raccoon had something in his words, but with his brain, he couldn't figure out what Rocket was hinting at. Instead, Gamora listened. She took advantage of Quill's inattention, touched the back of his waist, took his communicator, turned on the reminder mode, and put it in her own pocket.
And when they officially visited the Star Wars area, Rocket Raccoon couldn't help but curse.
"You said this was an amusement park, stop joking. This is no different from the places where information brokers and smugglers gather in Centaurus. It's all so dilapidated, chaotic, and disorderly."
He retracted his tail with a 'whoosh' and said viciously, "And the same species discrimination, ill-intentioned."
"Don't say that, they think you're cute." Quill scanned the curious gazes of the tourists and said, "They might want to touch your head or your big furry tail."
"Don't even think about it!"
