Chapter 2393: The Battle of the Bats (Part 12)

~10 min read 1,873 words

Even in a Cat Getan that had changed for the better, it was dangerous for an outsider to stand on the street for so long without police maintaining order. Many bad memories about this terrifying dark city flooded Clark's mind.

But then he realized that it wasn't that he had let his guard down; it was just that the place where he was standing now wasn't much different from the Metropolis next door. It wasn't dark, bloody, or violent, and the temperament of the people was no different from the citizens of Metropolis.

"It looks like Batman has taken them in." Bruce looked around and said, "He must have used some method to rule all of humanity, and then he organized production and allocated resources, ultimately allowing everyone to live a happy life."

"Then what's going on now?" Diana frowned deeply.

Bruce shook his head and said, "Resources are still too scarce. Even if the entire Earth were perfectly balanced to achieve absolute fairness, it would only be enough to ensure everyone is well-fed and clothed, but it wouldn't be able to satisfy their spiritual needs or allow every individual to fully realize their self-worth."

"This leads to them feeling that they aren't free. They can still personally feel Batman's control over them and invest too much energy into it. To put it bluntly, they're just bored because they're well-fed."

Just as Bruce said this, he heard a notification sound from his communicator. After opening it, he said, "He's not dead, as expected. He contacted me. Let's follow the coordinates he gave first."

The three of them flew forward and finally found a faint signal on a small island furthest from Cat Getan.

After landing, Clark looked left and right but didn't see anything resembling Batman. He had to fly up again and circle the island several times before finally shouting in surprise, "I see the Batmobile! He should be nearby!"

The other two hurried to where Clark was. Underneath some tall, dense grass, they found an off-road Batmobile. This vehicle was very large; the wheels alone were as tall as a person. The upper body was blue, and a bat pattern was printed on the front hood.

"But why did he leave his car here?" Diana looked around and said, "Where is he?"

Suddenly, the bat pattern on the hood lit up—to be precise, the two eyes above the bat lit up—and at the same time, a deep voice with a mechanical tone sounded.

"Who are you looking for? I'm right here."

The three of them turned around in unison. Bruce was even a bit shocked. He looked the large off-road vehicle up and down, walked to the front, and looked at the expressive eyes, saying, "Buddy, you didn't tell me you were an electronic lifeform."

"Actually, I'm not an electronic lifeform, or rather, I used to be, but now I'm a Bat-Monster Car."

"Huh?"

The three of them were stunned. Clark stepped forward and looked at the glowing eyes, asking, "You mean you're Batman?"

"Is there a problem?"

"Is there a..." Diana opened her mouth and then closed it, then looked at Bruce and said, "Is this the serious universe you were talking about?"

Just as Bruce was about to speak, Diana held out a hand and said, "Listen, if a car is fulfilling the duties of Batman, don't tell me the real Batman is currently carrying people around the streets."

"I am Batman." The Bat-Monster Car repeated with a helpless emphasis, "I uploaded my consciousness into the network and transformed the entire Earth. Unfortunately, they didn't want this kind of Earth, so they destroyed all my server terminals. Now, only this car is left."

"I'm more curious about how you ended up like this?" Bruce patted the car, looking slightly helpless. "Are your server terminals that vulnerable?"

"I didn't want to hurt them." The Bat-Monster Car said, "Perhaps they were right. The Earth I arranged wasn't good enough; it couldn't satisfy their needs, but it restricted their development. So, I gave up."

"This might have avoided a lot of killing and death." Clark sighed, "But humanity always progresses through killing and death."

"Perhaps, but I've already decided to leave." The Bat-Monster Car sighed, "That's why I replied to your email. No matter where that so-called Great Lord and you intend to take me, I can go and see."

"Of course, we welcome you to join us. However, you should have already read the job description I sent you, right?"

"Yes, I noticed it mentioned an entrance exam. I must tell you, although I am a Bat-Monster Car, cars aren't pushovers either."

"Don't worry, the opponent will definitely satisfy you."

Flash Batman and Barry were walking on the streets of David's mental world in Paris. Barry said, "Since you've already promised that mysterious person to solve the problem, you can't give up halfway. Besides, if you not only fail to solve the problem but also create more messes, even if you let the Flash go back, he will definitely be hunted down. This is a big trouble."

The Flash was also chiming in within Flash Batman's heart. He could feel that Batman's will to survive wasn't strong, but the problem now was that without Batman, the two of them would be even worse off, so he had to persuade Batman to come back.

"That's right. Have you forgotten you promised that mysterious Dr. Tier and that mist to make a deal? If you die, and he comes looking for me, I don't have the ability to fulfill the conditions you promised."

The last near-death experience seemed to have sobered Batman up quite a bit. He said, "He said he would give me an answer. Before I hear that answer, I won't choose to leave."

"Then let's focus on solving the problem at hand first." Barry said, "What do you think is going on with David?"

"This is a madman's mental world. Don't overthink it, don't delve into it. Until things take a turn, don't assume we've found the truth."

"Then what should we do now?"

"Let's go find a personality trait to study first."

"He loves to study." The Flash whispered, "I hope your research goes smoothly this time."

"Barry..."

"I know, I'll shut up."

They soon found a personality wandering nearby. It was a suit of armor that looked empty inside, like a knight's vengeful spirit that had snuck out of a gloomy ancient castle in a horror story.

"I'll go take a look first." Barry said.

After saying that, the Speed Force surged from under his feet. He quickly ran a circle around the armor without even startling it.

Seeing nothing unusual, Barry had to test it slightly. He ran over quickly and pushed the opponent, but he stumbled himself and almost fell out of the Speed Force.

When he returned to Flash Batman's side, he was still feeling lingering fear. Barry shook his head and said, "No, this guy seems to reflect all attacks, and it's a rule-based reflection. We can't fight him in close combat."

Flash Batman thought for a moment and said, "Then let's find a way to fight from a distance. I think we can consider modern artillery. Because there is ballistic time, even if it reflects back, we can use the Speed Force to dodge."

Barry nodded, thinking Flash Batman made sense. He thought for a moment and said, "I know who can get modern artillery in the shortest time... Hello? Harley?"

Just as Barry was making the call, Flash Batman suddenly saw a portal open on the roof of a building not far away. A strange, massive figure rushed out of the portal.

It rushed to the edge of the building without any intention of stopping, soared into the air from the edge, and slammed into the ground in front of the knight with a 'boom'.

When the dust settled, the two looked closely and realized it was actually a huge off-road vehicle with four wheels like black holes and two squinting eyes at the front.

"You should taste the power of the Batmobile! Buddy!"

With a 'hum', the four huge wheels spun. The Bat-Monster Car rushed out at a speed invisible to the naked eye, almost turning into a blue lightning bolt. When it collided with the armor, it made a loud 'bang'.

Flash Batman and Barry had to move further away, because the shockwave of the impact, plus the reflected shockwave, directly blasted a huge crater in the surrounding ground.

The dust settled, and the armor climbed up from the ground. One of the two eyes on the front of the Bat-Monster Car squinted, and the bumper was dented.

"Interesting." The Bat-Monster Car hummed a few times and said, "A suit of armor can actually reflect impacts. Then let's try this."

Suddenly, the doors of the Bat-Monster Car opened, and several missiles were hidden under the doors. 'Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh, whoosh, whoosh', all the missiles flew out in arcs. A series of loud 'bangs' followed, and dust rose up.

But before the dust had settled, the 'whoosh' sound started again. The Bat-Monster Car was immediately alert. The four wheels spun with a 'hum', and it rushed to the other side at high speed.

It slammed into a wall with a 'bang', directly collapsing a building on the street, but this allowed it to narrowly avoid the reflected shell fragments.

These fragments seemed to have eyes; even though they were reflected, they all headed straight for the Bat-Monster Car, even more precise than smart-guided missiles.

The Bat-Monster Car immediately realized that long-range was useful, but it was difficult for it to fight long-range while dodging the opponent's counterattacks because this place was too narrow, and its speed had to reach its maximum after driving for a while.

Just as the Bat-Monster Car was thinking of a way to break it, it suddenly saw a teenager rushing towards it. Seeing that familiar golden light, the Bat-Monster Car shouted in shock, "Flash, why are you here?"

"That's a long story. You don't have enough speed, and I don't have long-range firepower. If we cooperate, we can definitely take him down!"

"Then what are we waiting for? Come on." The Bat-Monster Car immediately opened its doors, waiting for this Flash to sit in.

Who would have thought that after this teenager rushed over in one breath, his hands covered in a faint black-gold light, he would dive directly under the car, plant his feet firmly, and with a shout of 'drink', lift the car up.

The Bat-Monster Car was stunned.

"Don't just stand there, fire the cannons!"

The missiles were reloaded. 'Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh, whoosh, whoosh', the missiles hit the knight armor accurately again. And this time, when the reflected fragments attacked, golden light flashed under Barry's feet, and he disappeared instantly with the car.

"This is too absurd." Clark, watching all this through the screen, covered his face and said.

"A car that doesn't have Batman but is Batman, a suit of armor that doesn't have a master but can move, a Flash who doesn't sit in the car but carries the car and runs—what exactly did I just see???" ===== CHAPTER 2394 =====
