Chapter 2396: The Battle of the Bats (Part 15)
Nick didn't seem surprised by the newly joined Spider-Man, even though he was Bruce Wayne. He just took him to the locker room without a ripple.
Just like that, Spider Batman, or Bat Spider-Man, or simply a special Spider-Man, had a brand new uniform.
The clothing part was a tight-fitting suit more like Spider-Man's, and it didn't look out of place on him. The mask was more like Batman's, but it was full-coverage, without exposing the chin, but with two pointed ears.
This uniform actually looked more like Daredevil's, but the color wasn't that bright, adopting Batman's consistent black. Fortunately, the pattern on the chest wasn't a spider, and the pattern on the tight-fitting suit wasn't a spider web, otherwise it would look very much like Venom.
The black of this uniform was a bit special, with a metallic sheen that was iridescent. The chest was a bat pattern, but a spider pattern was hollowed out in the center of the bat. The shape of the spider legs cut the bat's wings into pieces, which had a strange beauty.
Bruce had a great figure, stronger than most Spider-Men. Simply put, he was broader, and after putting on the tight-fitting suit, he looked even more majestic.
"I'll add a cape for him." Bruce said.
"You know that's useless for combat."
"But that's a symbol of a knight."
"If you like, fine." Nick shrugged and said, "Come here, let's test the performance of the new combat suit."
Bruce followed him over. During the test, he found that this suit didn't just serve as a decoration. In fact, it was fireproof, waterproof, and electric-proof, basically preventing everything that could be prevented. The arms were equipped with micro-communicators and web-shooters, the back had a hidden nano-gliding device, and the legs hid environmental detectors, chips, and micro-drones.
"We updated the uniforms of most Spider-Men." Nick said, "In order to let them better complete various combat missions while ensuring their own safety."
"Spider-Man's strength is great, so there's no need for too much improvement in this regard. Their agility is also good, so they don't need more auxiliary tools for movement."
"On the contrary, they need a more accurate judgment ability for the surrounding environment, and they must have the ability to request support at any time. I hope you remember this point: if you can't beat them, call for help. The thing you lack the least is manpower."
Bruce nodded without expressing any opinion. He was different from other Batmen. He knew how 'noob' he was. Anyone who came was stronger than him, so there was no need to question whether others could help.
After testing the combat suit, Bruce quickly entered the portal. What appeared before him was a ruin, and in the center of the ruin stood a man wearing a shiny silver-white steel helmet with a long cape behind him.
Bruce was discovered as soon as he landed. The other party just raised his hand, and Bruce lay directly on the ground.
Bruce immediately understood that the other party's ability was to manipulate gravity, and this happened not to be a field he was good at. He almost couldn't calculate the center of gravity in those complex physics problems correctly.
Bruce took a deep breath, his muscles swelled instantly, and the huge power brought by the spider mutation played a role at this time. He forcibly carried the pressure of huge gravity and stood up.
The other party appeared a bit surprised and a bit astonished, but soon raised his hand again, and greater gravity pressed down. Bruce was pressed to the ground again.
On the street next to where the two of them were standing, two sneaky figures were standing at the alley entrance, peeking.
"Who is that guy? Spider-Man? Why haven't I seen this breed?" Harley said strangely, "His figure is a bit familiar, I forgot where I saw it."
"Did you drag me out just to watch others fight?" Little Bruce hugged his arms and said, "I thought you found some important clue."
"Actually, both are true. Important clues might be hidden in the way they fight." Harley said, "Do you feel a bit strange? According to our previous deduction, these personalities might come from some memories that left a deep impression on David."
Bruce nodded.
"Then what about their superpowers?" Harley raised a doubt, "It's impossible for David to think they have superpowers every time he sees something. Even if he likes to think so, it's impossible for him to think so in every memory."
"Uh-huh." Little Bruce hummed noncommittally.
"Either he was already crazy and sees everything as a superpower user, or these things having superpowers was not his original association, but was added later."
"You mean..."
"These things might all be David's precious memories, but they were originally just memories, not superpower users. Something made them possess superpowers and become the current superpower users."
"You mean their power was bestowed by something?"
"Exactly." Harley analyzed, "Since it's a mental world, it should be viewed according to the rules of the mental world. To make items that have no life in a memory fragment transform into one superpower user after another with special abilities and personalities, this purposeful and consistent transformation cannot happen naturally in thinking, nor can it be caused by some uncontrollable disease."
"This kind of change is orderly and regular, so there must be some intelligent existence pushing it from behind." Harley said, "This existence might be someone other than David, or it might be David himself."
Little Bruce frowned deeply, thought for a while, and said, "You think the latter is more likely, right?"
"That's right. This kind of internal transformation is difficult to be influenced by other people externally, but is more easily influenced by oneself. Just like you decide to forget a certain memory or remember it forever, this will push the change of this memory, or gradually fade, or become solid."
"Then why would David do this?"
"This has to be asked of David himself."
"Went around in a circle and returned to the origin." Little Bruce sneered and said, "If we want to find David, we have to defeat these strange personalities, but to figure out how these personalities appeared, we have to find David. Oh, ho, dead loop."
Harley also sneered and said, "I don't have to find David like you guys. Wait."
Harley's upper body suddenly disappeared.
Little Bruce was startled, his pupils shrank, but looking closely, he found that Harley didn't turn into two halves, but poked her upper body out from an invisible window.
Walking to the side, you couldn't see anything, only a thin line, as if a hole had been suddenly opened in the existing picture, and then she poked her head out from the hole.
After a while, Harley came back, snapped her fingers, and said, "Just went to have a chat and got a lot of useful information. Let's go."
"Where to?"
"Of course, to find David, but it's a part of David. He is the boss of the Spirit Flow Sect, called Lord-Trauma. His ability is telepathy, and he can also absorb other personalities. The claim that the Spirit Flow Sect absorbs other personalities to strengthen itself was proposed by him."
"What exactly did you go to do?" Little Bruce narrowed his eyes and said.
"Don't worry about that much, let's go."
"How to go?" Little Bruce looked up, and many personalities were still wandering on the street, appearing irritable and fickle.
"Can you find a car?" Harley looked left and right, and after finding no transportation, said, "Let's go, find that monster car."
"How do we find him now?"
Harley looked left and right, then found a taxi sign at the end of the street. She stood under the sign and shouted loudly, "TAXI!"
With a 'zila' sound, the sound of braking came from the smoke. Little Bruce had to wave his hand in front of him. After the dust settled, he saw the Bat-Monster Car carrying Barry and Flash Batman parked in front of him.
Barry and Flash Batman were a bit confused, because they clearly didn't take this road just now, but the Bat-Monster Car adapted well. He said, "I heard someone calling for a car, get on, Miss."
"Thank you." Harley smiled, pinched a non-existent skirt, bowed to him, and got into the car.
"What exactly is going on?" Little Bruce asked in a low voice, "You didn't show these abilities before."
"Don't forget this is in the mental world." Harley also said in a low voice, "You think you can only use the abilities in the real world here because your thinking is limited, but I won't, so I can get what I want."
"Mental patients have broad thinking?"
"I'll say it again, I'm not crazy." Harley rolled her eyes and said, "Sorry, can I drive? I think we should be quick."
"Uh, is there a possibility that this car can drive itself." Barry said, "I mean this Batman... uh, this Bat-car, this Batman..."
"Okay, get out of the way." Harley pushed Barry, who was in the driver's seat, away, operated the steering wheel herself, and stepped on the accelerator.
"Wow, Miss!" The Bat-Monster Car marveled, "Excellent racer!"
With a 'whoosh', the huge off-road vehicle disappeared at the end of the street. When it appeared again, they had arrived in front of a house painted orange.
Barry got out of the car, saw 'Shaumron' written on the mailbox at the door, and Harley had already walked up to ring the doorbell.
Soon the door opened, and a young man appeared inside the door. Harley greeted, "Hello, David, or should I call you Lord-Trauma?"
The other party's expression froze immediately, and Harley didn't treat herself as an outsider at all, squeezing directly into the house from the gap between the body and the door frame. This David clearly wanted to chase her, causing several people behind to squeeze in, and even the Bat-Monster Car broke the glass and poked a head in.
"Who exactly are you? How can you break into someone else's house like this? And why am I..."
"Because we are not David's personalities." Harley turned back with her arms crossed and said, "You can't absorb us, and it's hard to hurt us."
"How did you find this place? The group outside..."
"We didn't run into that group of personalities outside at all. You don't need to worry about how we came. I just want to know where the real David is."
At this time, Flash Batman noticed that there was a family portrait on the table in the living room of this house. The boy standing in the middle looked exactly the same as this young man, only with long hair.
The young man called Lord-Trauma sank his face and said, "What do you all know?"
"These personalities changing from elements in memory into personalities and possessing superpowers is not caused by disease or natural occurrence. It's what David did." Harley's tone was very firm. She said, "There must be some key event that caused David to need to do this. Where is he?"
The other party's expression was even heavier. He said, "Outsiders, this is our own business. You are not welcome here."
Harley snapped her fingers, and Little Bruce understood. Countless tentacles gushed out from behind him, and the whole house was shrouded in desperate darkness and crazy babbling.
Lord-Trauma's expression stiffened again and again, and finally had to grit his teeth and say, "Don't break the house!"
"Will you tell us?"
"Don't think about it." The young man looked away and said, "You can't find him. Even if you find him, it's just a fake."
"Talk about the fake in detail."
"You can find this place, he must have leaked the news." Lord-Trauma looked away and said, "The guy who is suppressing all personalities in the castle now is not David at all. David has already disappeared." ===== CHAPTER 2397 =====
