Chapter 2939: Leisure Time (20)

~10 min read 1,974 words

Tim knew that what he said wasn't without basis. The prototype he referred to was actually the Guardians of the Universe, the Little Blue Men, and the several major lantern corps under them.

The relationship between them was actually like this. Even the Little Blue Men, in order to check and balance the Green Lanterns, actively created the Yellow Lanterns, which was essentially to control the struggle between the Green Lanterns and the Yellow Lanterns within a beneficial range.

The result naturally wasn't so wonderful, and it could even be said to be contrary to the original intention. Without the Yellow Lantern Corps, maybe the Green Lantern Corps would be easier to control. The fact was, now both the Green Lanterns and the Yellow Lanterns were hard to control.

The fundamental reason, Tim felt, was that the Little Blue Men had selfishness on one hand, and not being comprehensive on the other.

Lack of control over details would allow errors to accumulate, causing the development of things to deviate from the original track. By the time it erupted all at once, the deviation had long been impossible to correct.

Tim believed that if there was an organization like the Little Blue Men on this Earth, it would be difficult for them to avoid the same tragedy as the Little Blue Men.

But the fact was, they seemed to control it very well. Tim wanted to know how they did it.

Hearing this question, Steve smiled and said: "To tell you the truth, there is indeed such an organization, but this is a confidential organization, and I have no right to disclose any relevant matters."

Tim heard that this wasn't a refusal. Steve was just hinting for him to investigate it himself, which was exactly the purpose of Tim being actively caught.

"Fine, let's stop here for today." Steve stood up and winked at Tim before leaving.

After Steve left with his notebook, before other agents came, Tim sat in place and thought.

He deliberately proposed that Steve was a sedative sent by Nick to the FBI, which was actually testing Steve. If he was determined not to be exposed, he still needed to appear loyal, and naturally wouldn't take the bait.

But now it seemed that Captain America wasn't afraid of the FBI. Perhaps it was because even if the FBI knew what he was here for, they still had to use him.

In this way, Tim knew that making a fuss here wouldn't bring any trouble to Captain America, and Captain America wouldn't come forward to stop it, or even had an acquiescent attitude.

Then he confirmed from Steve's mouth that there was indeed an organization above many parties. Although he couldn't say it, there must be relevant information in the FBI.

Looking at these two pieces of information together, although he had already planned it before being caught, wasn't the other party also knowing his plan when catching him?

Perhaps S. H. I. E. L. D. and Captain America couldn't wait for him to make a big fuss inside the FBI, and any loss of information would be the FBI's pot.

This was probably also the reason why Jason emphasized to Captain America that he was very smart. He was telling Captain America and S. H. I. E. L. D. that he could definitely make the FBI restless.

Captain America chose to believe Jason, so he came here.

"Since that's the case, what are you waiting for?"

Tim stood up and slapped the table, "Come here! Come here quickly! I want to report that S. H. I. E. L. D.'s psychologist Schiller Rodriguez is Hydra! Come here quickly!!!"

Pamela was taken to another room. The people outside the door changed wave after wave, and the hurried conversation sounded again and again.

After waiting for ten minutes, the door finally opened. A familiar red-haired figure walked in and turned to the ordinary agent following behind: "This is a criminal with superpowers, not within the jurisdiction of your FBI. I'll take over, you go out first."

The leading ordinary agent seemed to have some resentment, but looking at that red-haired figure, he was a bit afraid, and in the end, he didn't say anything and retreated.

"You really have skills." Natasha patted the notebook on the table, "Why don't you seal the Rocky Mountains?"

Pamela shrank her neck and said: "I'm an accomplice!"

"From whom?"

"I said it wasn't Schiller, you definitely won't believe it. You know I'm short of money." Pamela looked at the female agent and said.

"How much did he give you?"

"Currently only 5 million."

"He's quite generous." Natasha sat down and said: "5 million bought you?"

"My power wasn't cultivated by myself, it basically belongs to pie falling from the sky. Exchanging other people's efforts for money, 5 million is not small."

Natasha rolled her eyes slightly and said: "You only have this much promise, but I tell you, according to the newly promulgated Superpower Management Act, all economic losses caused by the destruction caused by the abuse of superpowers by people with superpowers need to be borne by the person with superpowers themselves."

"This is the benefit of my superpower." Pamela said: "Don't worry, those small flowers and grasses will only grow better than before after returning to their original positions. The San Diego municipal government has to give me garden maintenance fees."

Then she put her arms on the table again, leaned forward and looked at Natasha and said: "Did you get a hairstyle? This kind of wave is very suitable for you."

"Pamela Isley! Now it's working time, go back and sit down." Natasha straightened her face, and Pamela had to sit back.

"What deal did you and Schiller make?"

"He gives me money, I help him seal the mountain."

Natasha pondered secretly, seemingly thinking about Schiller's intention.

But not long after, the door was knocked on again. Natasha showed an impatient expression, walked out, and not long after, someone else came in.

Pamela, even if she had no sensitivity, knew that Natasha was from S. H. I. E. L. D., and this was the FBI's prison. The two sides must have a good argument about this matter.

Unexpectedly, Natasha left for a whole night. Until dawn, she didn't come back. Pamela could only deal with the interrogators boredly, secretly thinking that if the FBI also sent a beautiful female detective, she would reluctantly tell them the truth.

It's a pity that the interrogators in the FBI were all big and thick, fierce and evil. Not to mention beauties, there wasn't even a handsome guy, so Pamela stayed up until dawn.

Actually, she heard some movement when she was half-asleep and half-awake in the early morning. The agent interrogating her left halfway, but at that time she was sleepy and didn't understand what was going on.

Until dawn, Pamela returned to a spirit of excitement because of staying up all night. After overhearing from the potted plants in the office that someone had made a big fuss in the prison in the middle of the night, she was shocked.

To be honest, Pamela wasn't surprised at all. It would be strange if this crazy teenager Tim didn't make any trouble.

However, she really didn't expect Tim to take the martial arts route. She thought he would find a way to get information.

After waking up, Pamela started to use the plants in the prison to listen to Tim's location, and then found that this kid really didn't run out, and was now squatting in a utility room on the fourth floor.

"Why did you run here?"

Tim heard a voice above his head. Looking up, he saw a vine extending from the ventilation duct, and immediately knew it was Pamela.

"Help me check where the data room is." Tim looked up and said.

"Important data is all underground. Do you want me to lure the agents away for you?"

"That would be better, but I won't pay."

"You're so

"Just keep being stingy."

Despite this, Tim arrived at the underground level quite smoothly. The West Coast was the FBI's turf, and their control over this area was very strong; basically, every base facility was fully equipped, and the records for the work the base was responsible for were kept here.

With the help of Pamela's superpowers, Tim managed to drive straight in, and very smoothly arrived at the records room to start searching.

The vast majority of the records were about insignificant little missions, and most agents' writing skills were only slightly better than a grocery list. Fortunately, Tim had strong reading skills and was fast, so he quickly finished flipping through the cabinets on the left.

When he checked the cabinets on the right, Tim finally discovered some clues.

Theoretically speaking, the FBI and the CIA, one focused internally and the other externally, meant the CIA had no domestic law enforcement power.

But then again, what happens when spies are encountered domestically?

Generally speaking, catching domestic spies relies on the results of the CIA's work abroad. Either the nest of these spies has been found, or clues were discovered domestically while pursuing other cases.

After these clues are sent back, it isn't CIA agents who go to make the arrests, but the domestic FBI personnel who investigate; the FBI's scope of work also encompasses protecting national security.

Therefore, Tim wasn't at all surprised to find information related to counter-espionage work in the Los Angeles base. Could such a large country really be without a few spies?

But of course, Tim still focused on reading this part of the information, and then, as is the cliché, saw several Russian names.

He still had some understanding of the history here. In this universe, the Soviet Union had long since dissolved. Now, that behemoth at the top of Asia was called Russia, and those small countries that previously formed the Soviet Union with it were now squatting beside it, shattered beyond repair.

But even after the dissolution, the two countries of America and Russia didn't seem very close; on the contrary, they were still bitter rivals.

Or rather, Russia was pro-Western, but the representative of the West, the United States, unilaterally refused to accept it.

Anyway, the two were constantly bickering back and forth, and mutual espionage was all too normal. The Russian Federal Security Service, which inherited the legacy of the KGB, had a large number of spies on both the East and West Coasts.

Tim silently recorded the important information among them, then kept flipping forward. Suddenly, he saw a dusty old case file.

This matter seemed to have occurred on the East Coast, but the FBI had brought some work reports over after shifting their focus to the West Coast, and this was one of them.

Tim looked at the long-winded work report in front, not seeing any clues at first, but when he flipped to the back, a picture of a huge medal sample appeared before his eyes.

What was this? Tim leaned in to take a look. He was fluent in Russian, but the picture wasn't very clear, and he couldn't make out the small print on the badge.

Fortunately, the report below mentioned the name of this medal—the "Order of the Red Banner of the Soviet Union."

Flipping to the next page, the header read "Suspected Medal Owner." Tim was shocked and froze in place.

Because every single person in the headshot photos printed on this page was someone he was very familiar with.

"Oh God, Pamela." Tim turned his head and shouted Pamela's name, then said, "You have to see this."

A vine reached over, and Pamela's voice came through, "What is this? A list of the Avengers?"

"No, this is..."

Bang! The door was slammed hard.

Tim turned back, then hurriedly stuffed this document to the very bottom of the filing cabinet and looked up at the ventilation duct opening.
