Chapter 2944
"You saved me?" Tim said the only possibility he could think of.
"Ah... yes, we saved you." Natasha paused and nodded; Tim narrowed his eyes.
"From whose hands?"
"From... Hy... uh... Federal... um... KGB? Yes... KGB! You were almost kidnapped by that Russian guy!" Natasha nodded vigorously and said.
"Then where is he?"
"Ran away."
"Didn't you chase?"
"Um, we think your safety is more important," Natasha said. "You are an important person Nick asked us to watch closely; nothing can be bigger than your safety; that's it."
Natasha left soon; Tim actually didn't suffer any injuries, just that the anesthetic in his body needed to be metabolized; after lying on the bed for a while, he felt much better; at least his head was no longer so dizzy, and his hands and feet were no longer numb.
So taking advantage of the nurse's lack of attention, he got out of bed and started wandering around the ward; Tim turned his head and saw the medical record sheet placed at the head of his bed.
Most hospitals in this world will write the patient's basic information at the head of the patient's bed, such as name, admission time, and illness; generally speaking, it is handwritten, and it will not use that kind of sloppy doctor's handwriting, but will write as clearly as possible.
Tim originally just took a casual glance, but when he saw that line of words, he couldn't sit still.
Where did this bring me? Is this still English?!
The handwriting on the medical record sheet at the head of his bed can't be said not to be Latin letters, that is, there are a few connected strokes, plus a few more circles drawn, a little sloppy... my ass! Isn't this Russian?!
Tim took the medical record sheet over; he looked at it carefully; what was written on it was actually English—English in Russian cursive.
He suddenly had a bad premonition, but he still comforted himself; this might be written by Natasha; this Soviet female agent has been here for so many years and hasn't changed her handwriting; it's really unprofessional!
"What are you doing?!" A rough voice sounded at the door.
Tim turned his head in a daze because he didn't understand what the other party was saying.
The other party seemed to be speaking English, but it didn't seem to be; the British can understand but are not familiar, the Germans are familiar but can't understand; Tim, who is proficient in both English and German, can neither understand nor be familiar.
The head nurse wearing a nurse uniform with the S. H. I. E. L. D. logo rushed in, took the medical record sheet from Tim's hand, clipped it back, and scolded Tim: "Don't touch things randomly! This is not your school infirmary; if you do this again, I will kick you out!"
"Stop!" Tim interrupted the head nurse and asked her: "Are you German?"
"Yes, what's wrong?" The head nurse was righteous.
"But S. H. I. E. L. D. is not..."
"S. H. I. E. L. D. is an international organization," the head nurse said. "It is responsible for supernatural affairs all over the world; what's strange about having Germans?"
Tim couldn't refute it either; he could check on the internet before that S. H. I. E. L. D. was indeed directly responsible to the UN Security Council, but the headquarters was in the United States, and it got the most funds from the United States, but in fact, it also ate from a hundred families, so having a German head nurse was not very bizarre.
Tim convinced himself... but only for a few minutes; he told the head nurse that he wanted to go out for some air, and then he discovered that except for the Russian accent, it was the German accent in the entire medical department.
How about that, I, an old American, have become an outsider?
Tim didn't quite understand; it's not that only Russia and Germany have hospitals; is it necessary to hire doctors and nurses from these two countries?
His question didn't last long, but the way to solve the question was not to answer the question, but to have a bigger question.
He didn't wander outside for long before Natasha sent someone to take him to the building of the Affairs Department; Nick said he wanted to see him.
Tim swore that he hadn't heard any English on this road; the English used by these agents to communicate was not English with a foreign accent at all, but simply foreign languages—partly German, partly Russian, partly German-flavored Russian, partly Russian-flavored German.
This made Tim's head buzz.
He couldn't help but ask Natasha: "Did the mustache in your universe conquer the world? Did he fight all the way to the United States?"
"No, except for the dissolution of the Soviet Union, our history is the same as yours," Natasha shook her head and said, and seemed very puzzled as to why he would have this question.
"Then why is the official language of S. H. I. E. L. D. German?!"
"It's not German; isn't there Russian spoken here too?"
"Isn't Russian even more outrageous?!!" Tim roared: "I thought I had arrived in Moscow when I woke up!!!"
"You are simply illiterate; Germany never fought to Moscow; you can't hear so much German in Moscow!"
"Is this the point?!!"
Natasha waved her hand and seemed to say impatiently: "Language is just a tool for communication; what language is different? Isn't it enough to be able to understand? People like to learn Russian and German; can you manage it?"
Tim was almost choked to death by her.
The two of them soon arrived at Nick's office; Nick seemed to be organizing his collection of eye patches; seeing Tim coming, he stood up and shook hands with Tim.
"Long heard of your name, Mr. Drake, how have you been recently?"
"Not very good," Tim bared his teeth and said: "The chaotic situation in your universe is outrageous; I don't know what is normal."
"You'll get used to it," Nick said.
Tim was choked again; he thought to himself, as the boss of the supernatural organization in this world, shouldn't you explain it to me? What does it mean to get used to it? Is this something you can get used to?
"I came to find you, actually mainly because there is one thing to ask you," Nick put down the things in his hand, crossed his fingers on the desktop and said: "I know you followed Schiller to Los Angeles before; I hope you can help me get something."
Tim heard the implication, so he sat opposite him and asked: "What thing?"
"You promise me, and I will tell you."
"I don't understand; you have so many agents, why come to find me?"
"Do I have many agents?"
"Of course, aren't those outside... don't tell me they are actually not your agents."
"They are, but do you know what month it is now?"
"Uh, it's almost November, what's wrong?"
"Yes, it's almost November, which means it's almost the end of the year."
"... So what?"
"Agents have to write year-end reports."
"If you need people, then exempt them from the report."
"But their reports are not written to me."
"Ah???"
Tim translated the series of German and Russian he just heard in his mind and found that the group of agents gathered together was really discussing the year-end report.
One of them said: "Do you remember that case in Tennessee? It should be Vincent in your group who blew up the base, right? Is it okay for me to write it like this? Or push it to the head of the Ten Rings?"
"Don't write Vincent; he was transferred back to headquarters and is now my boss; if you say he was still in Tennessee two months ago, it will be exposed; I think you can write Angel under Ghana; he jumped to Moscow recently..."
"Then what about you? Didn't you go with him?"
"I was originally going back to Moscow, my brother went back to Berlin; my brother's boss hasn't paid him for three months; maybe we will meet in Moscow this year..."
"This year is too bad; our boss made me die more than 60 times before giving half the money of last year; by the way, have you heard that China is recruiting people? The salary they give is very high!"
"Stop it; we are all white people; it's the same to go back to Berlin, Moscow, Los Angeles, or Washington; those are yellow people; you will be exposed if you go there..."
The amount of information in this paragraph was so large that it directly burned Tim's CPU.
"Tim... Tim?! Timothy!!"
Tim woke up suddenly and said in a daze: "What's wrong?"
Nick made a gesture and said: "I can only give you this number at most; don't dislike it; it's not very good recently; the extra manpower was sent back to Berlin by me; this is still because you are a child of a relative..."
Tim didn't notice what gesture he made; he just asked again: "I can work for you, but you must tell me what is going on."
"What is going on?"
"What the hell is going on with this damn universe, this damn Earth, and these damn organizations!!!" Tim roared in a breakdown.
Suddenly, the door was knocked; the three people in the office turned their heads at the same time; Nick said: "Please come in!"
A tall man holding a folder walked in.
Tim stood up with a swoosh.
This is the agent who kidnapped him!!!
The man was obviously stunned when he saw Tim, but his gaze crossed Tim and fell on Nick; he walked a few steps forward with the folder and smiled embarrassedly.
"Boss, this is this year's year-end report; I think I should still write one for you, for the sake of the year-end bonus."
Nick took it and looked at it twice and said: "I knew hiring you was the right decision; the professionalism is admirable, but you shouldn't just be here to tell me this, right?"
"Yes, I just want to say sorry to you; Moscow arranged other work for me; I have to set off for Europe in February next year..."
Nick hadn't said anything yet, Tim asked first: "Moscow? How come I haven't heard that S. H. I. E. L. D. has a headquarters in Moscow?"
The man was stunned again, and then said: "S. H. I. E. L. D. has no headquarters in Moscow; Moscow only has the Russian Federal Security Service."
Tim was also stunned; the two of them stared at each other for dozens of seconds.
"So you are a Russian spy???"
"That's too ugly to say," the man said.
Tim just thought he was going to defend himself, but the man said to himself: "I am first a spy sent by the FBI to S. H. I. E. L. D., then I am a Hydra spy recruited by the FBI, and secondly, I am a spy sent by Moscow to the interior of Hydra, and I am about to become a spy sent by Moscow to Hydra to the FBI to S. H. I. E. L. D. and then transferred by S. H. I. E. L. D. to work at Hydra headquarters."
Tim's CPU burned again.
"So you are a four-sided... uh, five-sided, five-sided spy?!"
"It's not calculated like that," the man waved his hand and said: "Have you played Lianliankan? Being an undercover in Hydra and being an undercover in S. H. I. E. L. D. are the same, so the two of them are eliminated, and being an undercover in S. H. I. E. L. D. under the order of the KGB is no different from staying in the KGB, so the two of them are also eliminated; the only effective ones left are the FBI and Hydra, so I am actually just a double agent."
Tim's head was smoking a bit.
This man showed an expression of "why are you so stupid," and then seemed impatient to continue discussing with him, but said: "Boss, this time Moscow transferred me back to be an undercover in Hydra; do you think I should report it to the FBI and let them give me the same task, so I can get another salary?"
"That's no problem, but don't forget to 'pay taxes'."
"Don't worry, I have to trouble the comrades in the information technology department to help me make an identity..."
"Easy to say, 20% lurking tax, 5% information modification handling fee; everyone is not doing well recently, so I won't ask for more."
