Chapter 3338: Farm Adventure (Part 2)
Sharp-eyed Tim immediately discovered that this was not the Bruce they were familiar with, so he immediately pulled Dick next to him, telling him not to go up and join in the fun.
Harley, however, let out a sigh of disappointment, she said: "The guest you mentioned is Batman?"
After seeing Batman's face clearly, everyone dispersed in a swarm, and the feeling of disappointment was overflowing.
Batman didn't feel embarrassed. He looked at Schiller, and his expression could probably be summarized as "Who gave you the courage to gather so many teenagers together?"
Schiller ignored him, walked to the dining table next to him, put down the things in his hand, and shouted to the living room by himself: "Stop playing, come over to eat!"
Then they pushed and shoved like penguins and poured in. Schiller slapped Ted, who was leaning over to look at the things in the bag, to the side of the sink.
Just when they were lining up to wash their hands, Schiller discovered that one person seemed to be missing from the team. He poked his head out from the kitchen door and saw Jason lying on the sofa.
"Jason twisted his foot." Dick said while taking soap from the cupboard above, "After icing for a while, it didn't swell as badly. Do you want to check him?"
Schiller walked over to take a look, gently moved Jason's ankle, and successfully harvested a series of screams. Batman also walked behind the sofa, looking at this familiar young man.
"Nothing serious, didn't hurt the bone." Schiller said, "To be able to twist yourself like this, you also have some talent."
Jason, who hadn't woken up yet, was not satisfied and muttered a few words, put his arm over his eyes, and said vaguely: "I'm not eating, I'll sleep for a while..."
Schiller shook his head, but didn't wake him up, just walked to the kitchen and said: "Leave him a portion of soup and salad. Remember to heat the rice and dishes before eating, I have to go back to New York."
Pamela, biting a fork, said: "What's wrong? Did something happen?"
"That's not it. A friend of one of my students came to play, but suddenly took a relatively urgent project, so he entrusted him to me. I have to go pick him up."
Before leaving, Schiller also exhorted Batman: "I might not be able to come back tonight. If there is a hurricane landing tonight, you must watch them well, don't let them run out."
Batman nodded silently.
When Schiller left, he looked back three times, because he really doubted whether Batman could watch the children well. Facts proved that his suspicion was very reasonable. Is Batman the kind of person who can watch children?
Not long after Schiller left, Jason woke up. Batman obviously paid a lot of attention to him and immediately cast his gaze on him.
"Ah, Bruce... what time is it now? Where is Alfred?" After he finished chanting these like sleep talking, he suddenly realized that he was not in Wayne Manor, so he sat up hard and said, "Oh my god, why are you here?"
Then he quickly reacted that this was not the Bruce he knew, and immediately appeared a bit embarrassed, he said: "Sorry, I'm a bit not awake. Which universe's Batman are you?"
Batman didn't know how to describe it, so he didn't speak. Jason waited for three seconds without hearing any movement, so he reached out and said: "Alright, I know, traditional Batman."
"Tim! Come over and help me! I'm hungry!"
Tim walked over, reached out from behind the back of the chair and pulled Jason's arm to pull him up, and then said: "How come you seem to be heavy again? Pamela... Pamela!! Come over and help me, I can't pull him!"
Pamela threw down the game controller, came over and supported Jason with vines, and walked limpingly to the kitchen. Tim followed behind him and said: "Other universe's Jason is not as strong as you, can you reflect on yourself..."
"Is it my fault for being tall?" Jason swayed and sat on the chair and said, "How come there is only salad and vegetable soup? Is there no meat? A spicy pizza is fine too."
"If you want your ankle to swell into a kettlebell, then eat protein wildly." Harley, who was cleaning up kitchen waste on the side, said, "There are two packs of hot sauce left over there. If it really doesn't work, just eat that."
Jason looked at his ankle and felt that it was more important to restore his walking ability, so he had to start shaking the salad silently.
Ted was pinching Blue Beetle to check the ice cream machine, and after a while gave a conclusion: "This thing should roll to the pyramid and stay with the pharaoh, the rust inside is almost heavier than the parts."
Jason sighed on the side: "If I hadn't twisted my foot, it might have been repaired by now."
He turned his head to look at Dick, Dick shrugged and said: "Don't look at me. You can't expect an art student to repair machines."
Then he looked at Tim again. Tim said: "Dismantling this thing is too much effort... but I have an idea."
Several people "swished" and gathered together, Tim looked through the kitchen corridor to the living room, Batman was sitting there alone, more dilapidated than this old farm.
"He is that kind of traditional Batman." Harley said first, "And I feel his mental state is not very good. What do you guys think?"
"Do you still need to ask? The doctor threw him here, it must be to treat him. I think we can help him."
"Treat Batman, are you tired of living?"
"But at least we can let him use his mechanical knowledge to help us repair the hand-cranked ice cream machine. Don't you want to eat ice cream?"
Tim glanced at the ice cream machine that was about to fall apart, and then said: "Will this be a bit difficult for him?"
"What nonsense are you talking about, that's Batman!"
"I mean, is it a bit difficult for him to understand that humans would like to eat ice cream? Even Bruce doesn't let us eat!"
"It's because he is not Bruce that he won't manage us eating sweets. Hurry, hurry, hurry, hurry, think of a way, otherwise what if he leaves later?"
"Why not just ask him?"
"Then he definitely won't agree." Harley said, "He might suspect that it's a big bomb or something. Don't Batmans all do this?"
Tim seemed to suddenly remember something, he looked at Harley and said: "He doesn't seem to have any curiosity about you. Hasn't he met the Joker girl of his world?"
"He doesn't have much curiosity about any of us, this is not very normal." Jason lowered his voice and said, "Batman should be very concerned about the situation of a strange universe, right? He must want to find a way to get words out of us. But he doesn't look active at all."
"The doctor would bring him here because he is sick, I feel he has depression." Harley touched her chin and said, "I don't know if he is taking medicine."
"Definitely not. It's not like everyone is Bruce." Dick thought for a while and said, "How should depression be treated? Make him happy?"
"I think we should find something for him to do." Pamela suddenly opened her mouth and said, "This guy looks like he has suffered some mental trauma. If he is allowed to sit there and recall, this illness won't get better."
"I guess the doctor thought so too, so he threw him to us. Reforming the farm needs manpower."
Harley's eyeballs rolled around, she said: "I have an idea. We do this..."
Several people exchanged whispers, and then went to the rooms upstairs separately to explain to those who were not present. After reaching an agreement, the eyes looking at Batman were all full of gloating.
The plan started from midnight.
The sea hurricane that swept through California made landfall in the early morning, with great momentum and invincibility. The Meteorological Bureau issued more than 30 warnings in a row, warning California residents that it is best to hide in the basement to prevent people and houses from being blown away.
Lead-gray dark clouds pressed down layer by layer. In the howling wind, more and more debris was rolled into the sky, making the storm gradually have a substantial shape. The roots of the trees grabbed the soil tightly, and the branches danced, bursting out amazing vitality in despair.
Batman was woken up by the screaming. Or rather, he didn't fall asleep either, depression has been bothering him for a long time. It was almost dawn, and he just squinted for a while.
"House! House!!" He heard someone shouting.
Batman's instinct made him wake up immediately. He pushed the door out and saw the southeast corner of the house, which was the kitchen side, had been lifted up. Harley was blown to the ground by the strong wind that rushed in, and everything in the house was flying around.
Batman rushed down the stairs and looked out the window. The wind was incredibly strong, this small wooden house seemed to have become the object of direct invasion by the hurricane, and it was only a little bit away from being uprooted.
"Lie down and don't move!" Batman shouted. But Harley was like a fool, struggling to climb up, but was blown down again. Seeing that her head was about to hit the edge of the dining table, Batman threw out a grappling hook to wrap around her waist and pulled her back.
Others seemed to have just heard the movement, and rushed out from upstairs one after another, and were instantly stunned by the condition of the house.
"Quick! Quick, go get the wooden boards!"
"No. This wall has separated from the foundation, we have to pull it down first. Otherwise, the whole house will be blown away!"
Pamela waved her hand, and a thick vine broke through the soil, wrapping around the house beam from bottom to top. With a "bang", the house was pulled down.
Everyone breathed a sigh of relief. But Pamela said again: "My magic power is limited. Hurry up and find nails to nail the house!"
A group of people searched in the house like headless flies. Batman really couldn't stand it anymore, and said in a deep voice: "All come back!"
"Dick, you go find nails, Harley, you go get wooden boards. Go find some rope and glue again. I'll go to the backyard to get the toolbox..."
When Batman's figure disappeared at the back door, Harley secretly gave a thumbs up to the others.
It is very difficult for ordinary people to enter the backyard without any cover in the strong wind, but it is not a difficult thing for Batman. It's just that his clothes were all wet when he came back.
Just when he was organizing the tools in the toolbox and picking out items that might be useful, Dick walked over and handed him a set of clean pajamas, he said: "Jason's clothes, he is a bit stronger than you, you should be able to wear them."
Batman just looked up, and lowered his head silently again, continuing his work.
Dick didn't say anything more, and left after putting down the clothes. But soon there was a new situation. The storm just almost blew the house up, breaking the water pipe under the kitchen. Rainwater and tap water flowed into the house together from the cracks.
"Oh my god, where did this water come from?!" Ted jumped on the ground. He said: "The water pipe is leaking. Hurry up and find a way to block it!"
He shouted the loudest, but except for dancing a water tap dance in place, he didn't do anything. Dick said: "Have to find waterproof tape. I'm afraid I have to pry open the floor over there, I'll go get a shovel, you guys wait..."
Soon Dick brought the tools, but dug for a long time and couldn't find where the water was leaking. Batman had to put down the work in his hand and began to check the direction of the kitchen water pipes.
