Chapter 434: Must Be a Daughter-Doting Dad
After everyone around had received about fifty game tokens, Qin Tian and Xia Nuannuan stayed behind to watch, while Tang Heng accompanied Tang Wen and Liao Juan to go play games.
"Nuannuan."
"Hmm?"
"Do you think there's a chance?"
"What?"
Xia Nuannuan looked at him with a surprised expression.
Qin Tian smiled and gestured with his chin toward Tang Heng and the others.
"Oh, I don't know either. The key is still up to Second Cousin himself; we can't really help anymore."
Xia Nuannuan said with a gentle smile.
Qin Tian nodded slightly.
Just then, three little ones ran over—two boys and one girl, all looking to be about ten years old.
"Hey, we heard you're giving out game tokens here, right? We want some."
One of the boys with a flat-top haircut reached out his hand and said very rudely.
"Just because you want them, I have to give them? No!"
Qin Tian refused with a straight face.
"You guys aren't keeping your word. We saw you give them to others, why won't you give them to us?"
The flat-top boy asked angrily.
"Give them to us!"
Another boy, with snot almost running into his mouth, shouted loudly along with him.
"Because you have no manners. If you want them, have your parents come over; I'll have a chat with them!"
Qin Tian feigned a serious, angry expression.
The two boys froze, shrinking their heads in fear.
"Why are you like this? Calling parents at every turn just like a teacher. Are you a teacher?"
The flat-top boy gathered his courage and asked loudly.
"No!"
Qin Tian couldn't be bothered to deal with him and turned his gaze to the timid little girl behind them.
The girl was wearing a new bright red cotton-padded jacket, her hair in pigtails, with a fair, clean face, looking slightly thin.
"Big sister, why is your boyfriend so mean? You should hurry up and change him. I have an older brother who is very nice; I can introduce him to you."
The flat-top boy looked at Xia Nuannuan and said.
Xia Nuannuan was stunned for a moment.
"Hey..."
Qin Tian was almost laughed to anger and glared at the boy with a serious face.
"What? You want to hit me? I'll report you for bullying a child."
This brat puffed out his chest and threatened, trying to stay calm.
"Don't worry, I'm afraid if I throw this punch, you'll be crying for a long time."
Qin Tian rolled his eyes and said.
"Pfft!"
Xia Nuannuan, standing beside him, couldn't help but laugh out loud.
The little girl also raised her hand to cover her mouth and giggle, but when she saw Qin Tian looking over, she hurriedly turned her head away.
"Nonsense, I wouldn't cry! My dad beats me often, and I've never cried!"
The flat-topped boy's face flushed with shame and anger as he loudly defended himself.
"But I went to your house that day and saw you crying!"
The snotty-nosed boy next to him blurted out, exposing him unexpectedly.
"You... whose side are you on, anyway?"
The flat-topped boy glared at him.
The boy shrank his head back and laughed sheepishly: "The teacher said we shouldn't lie."
"Hahaha..."
Qin Tian was also amused by these two little characters and said to the flat-topped boy, "If you apologize to us and say it again, I'll give you game tokens."
"In your dreams, I did nothing wrong!"
The flat-topped boy crossed his arms and turned his head away, acting very tough.
"Fine, then I'll only give them to them."
Qin Tian shrugged indifferently, picked up a basket of game tokens from beside his feet, grabbed a handful, and handed it to the snotty-nosed boy first.
The boy took them with both hands, his face full of surprise.
"Thank you, big brother!"
After thanking him, he suddenly remembered something and tilted his head to look at his little companion.
Sure enough, the other boy was glaring at him furiously.
The snotty-nosed boy suddenly took half a step back and hurriedly stuffed the game tokens into his jacket and pants pockets.
Seeing this scene, Qin Tian and Xia Nuannuan couldn't help but chuckle.
"Come here."
Xia Nuannuan beckoned to the little girl.
The little girl hesitated for a moment, then stepped forward, looking up at the two of them with eager eyes.
"I'll give them all to you!"
Qin Tian handed her the remaining half-basket of game tokens in his hand.
The little girl widened her eyes, a look of disbelief on her face.
"Take them."
Qin Tian smiled.
"Thank you, big brother!"
The little girl's cheeks were flushed, and she thanked him very politely.
"Don't give any to him to play with!"
Qin Tian pointed at the brat.
The little girl glanced at the flat-topped boy, looking a bit conflicted.
They had grown up together; if the flat-topped boy really wanted the tokens, it would be hard for her to refuse.
"Why are you like this? I'll apologize to you, okay?"
The flat-topped boy gritted his teeth and compromised, looking unwilling.
Qin Tian smiled, watching him with great interest.
After his expression shifted a few times, the boy lowered his head and muttered, "Sorry, I was wrong."
"Very good!"
Qin Tian didn't dwell on it and looked at the other two children, saying, "You can give him some game tokens now."
The little girl nodded like a chick pecking at rice and thanked them again.
"Thank you, handsome big brother, thank you, pretty big sister."
"Go play!"
Xia Nuannuan said with a smile in her eyes.
The three children cheered and went off to play games.
Within the sight of Qin Tian and Xia Nuannuan, the little girl handed the half-basket of game tokens directly to the flat-topped boy.
After scratching his head in embarrassment, the flat-topped boy smiled and took them, saying he would help her hold them.
"So cute."
Xia Nuannuan watched the three little ones walk away and remarked with a smile.
"The girl is quite cute, the snotty kid is reasonably polite, but that flat-topped one is just a brat."
Qin Tian gave his assessment.
Xia Nuannuan tilted her head to look at him, her eyes smiling: "I can tell you'll be just like Lao Xia; you'll definitely be a daughter-slave."
Qin Tian shrugged noncommittally and said with a cheeky grin and a raised eyebrow: "That's assuming we have a daughter first."
"You... what are you saying!"
Xia Nuannuan's cheeks instantly flushed, and her face turned bright red.
"Of course, a boy would be fine too; at most, I'll just discipline him strictly. Two children would be best."
Qin Tian rambled on with a mischievous smile.
"Stop talking!"
Xia Nuannuan stomped her feet in shame and anger.
"Alright, alright, I'll stop. It's still early; we can talk about this later."
Qin Tian grinned.
Xia Nuannuan's pretty face was flushed red, and she gave him a fierce, annoyed glare.
Before long, people started coming over with large amounts of prize tickets.
Xia Nuannuan stacked them aside, while Qin Tian redistributed game tokens, giving a bit more to those with more tickets.
Soon, more and more people came over, and as time passed, the pile of prize tickets at Xia Nuannuan's feet grew rapidly.
By five o'clock in the afternoon, the three or four thousand yuan Xia Nuannuan had taken out had all been converted into game tokens and distributed, and a small mountain of prize tickets had accumulated beside her.
Many people around who had stopped playing didn't leave; they stood nearby, watching curiously, ready to see just how many tickets there were and what kind of prizes could be redeemed.
"Little brother, is this about enough?"
Tang Heng placed a stack of prize tickets on top and asked with a smile.
"Hmm, we can see how many there are, and if it's not enough, we'll see."
Qin Tian nodded and called out to a staff member nearby.
The staff member walked over immediately and helped them feed the tickets into the machine.
Watching the numbers on the screen rise rapidly, everyone felt a sense of inexplicable accomplishment.
