Chapter 435: Second Cousin Is Very Happy
The final count of prize tickets was enough to redeem the grand prize.
The grand prize was an iPad 4, which had been released in October of last year. Its price actually exceeded the money Xia Nuannuan had taken out, but no one would think of doing that.
Taking the prize from the staff member, Tang Wen's little face bloomed like a flower.
She had long wanted a tablet computer, but her parents were worried she would become obsessed with play and neglect her studies, so they had never agreed to buy her one.
"Sister Nuannuan, thank you. I love this gift so much."
Tang Wen hugged Xia Nuannuan excitedly, burying her little head in her arms and rubbing against her, which made Qin Tian, standing to the side, stare straight-eyed.
"As long as you like it."
Xia Nuannuan smiled and patted her head.
"Alright, stop clinging to your Sister Nuannuan."
Qin Tian reached out, grabbed his cousin by the back of her collar, and pulled her back.
"Hehe... Brother Tian, why does your voice sound so sour?"
Tang Wen turned her head and looked at him with a mischievous smile.
"You're hearing things."
Qin Tian raised his right middle finger and tapped her on the forehead.
"I'm not hearing things; you're just envious and jealous."
Tang Wen rubbed her forehead and stuck out her tongue, making a face at him.
Xia Nuannuan understood what was going on by now and blushed in embarrassment.
"Little Mosquito, you talk too much."
Qin Tian raised both hands to pinch his cousin's cheeks, pulling them slightly.
"I was wrong, I was wrong."
Tang Wen blinked her eyes pitifully, apologizing and admitting her mistake in a muffled voice.
Qin Tian snorted coldly and finally let go.
"Since we successfully got the prize, let's go eat. I'm hungry."
Tang Heng suggested.
Naturally, no one had any objections.
And so, the group of five left the arcade and arrived at the dining area upstairs.
After some discussion, they decided to go eat barbecue.
They walked into a Korean barbecue restaurant and were seated by a waiter.
The waiter handed over the menu, and after Tang Heng took it, he handed it to Liao Juan with a smile.
"You order first. My treat, order whatever you like."
"Okay, alright!"
Liao Juan was stunned for a moment before taking the menu to start ordering.
Qin Tian and the others looked at their second cousin with meaningful gazes, and Tang Wen even nudged Liao Juan playfully, signaling him to put in more effort.
"I ordered one serving of pork belly, one serving of chicken leg meat, and added a serving of lettuce. You guys order the rest; ordering two dishes per person should be enough."
After checking off two dishes, Liao Juan handed the menu to Xia Nuannuan beside her.
The menu went around, and the dishes were mostly ordered.
"What would you like to drink?"
Tang Heng asked with a smile.
"You decide. Let's skip the alcohol; I have to drive you guys over later."
Qin Tian replied.
"Then let's have this red date juice. Drinking something hot is good for your health."
Tang Heng suggested.
Qin Tian and the others nodded in agreement.
After returning the menu to the waiter, everyone chatted and laughed while waiting for the food to arrive.
Tang Heng found a topic and asked Liao Juan where she went to school, pretending not to know. After Liao Juan answered Shanghai, he feigned surprise and said he was in Hangzhou, noting that it wasn't far away.
Liao Juan felt it was a bit strange, but also a bit confused.
She echoed Tang Heng's words while casting inquisitive looks at Qin Tian and Xia Nuannuan sitting opposite them.
Qin Tian and Xia Nuannuan had originally been staring at the two with bright eyes, but when they saw Liao Juan looking over, they reacted quickly and looked at each other.
"Brother, what good food did you eat at home today?"
"I slept in late, so I just had some pan-fried rice cakes."
"Rice cakes? Are those the millet rice cakes made at home? Those are delicious."
The two of them made small talk with tacit understanding.
"Right, right, right. The rice cakes my grandma makes are delicious. Sister Nuannuan, when you go with Brother Tian, let grandma make some for you."
Tang Wen also forced herself into the conversation.
"Okay!"
Xia Nuannuan nodded with a sweet smile.
Liao Juan scanned the three faces and then looked at Tang Heng, as if she instantly understood something.
Good heavens, was this the rhythm of trying to play matchmaker for her?
She knew that the reason Tian Jiajia and Zhang Peng were able to get together was largely due to these two, and now they were targeting her.
"Here, have some tea."
Tang Heng poured a cup of tea and pushed it over.
"Thank you!"
Liao Juan smiled and thanked him calmly, but felt quite speechless inside.
Soon, the waiter pushed a small cart over, delivered the dishes and red date juice they had ordered, helped light the fire, and drizzled oil onto the paper on the grill.
"Can we start now?"
After the grill was hot, Tang Heng rubbed his hands together with a smile.
Qin Tian nodded, picked up two pairs of tongs from the side, and handed one over.
The two started grilling the meat, while the three girls went to make dipping sauces.
Xia Nuannuan knew Qin Tian's preferences and brought back the dipping sauce in his favorite flavor.
"Mosquito, what about mine? Why didn't you help me make one?"
Tang Heng looked at his sister with a surprised expression.
"How would I know what you want? Go get it yourself!"
Tang Wen sat down calmly.
"Sigh, what a fake sister."
Tang Heng sighed.
"Do you want mine?"
Liao Juan pointed to the dipping sauce in front of her and asked suddenly.
Tang Heng looked at it blankly, then nodded in pleasant surprise: "You have the same taste as me. Just a little dry seasoning is fine."
"Then take this one. I'll go make another."
Liao Juan pushed the one in front of her to him and stood up to head back to the seasoning area.
Under the surprised gazes of Qin Tian and the others, Second Cousin Tang Heng continued to grill the meat calmly, pretending nothing had happened.
However, the slightly upturned corners of his mouth and the hint of a smile he couldn't hide completely betrayed him.
"Stop pretending. If you want to smile, just smile. Don't be silly!"
Tang Wen pouted in disgust.
"Dead Mosquito, you little brat, what do you know?"
Tang Heng glared at her.
"You're the little brat!"
Tang Wen rolled her eyes.
"Here, eat!"
Qin Tian placed two pieces of grilled beef into the small bowl in front of Xia Nuannuan.
Xia Nuannuan happily picked up a piece, blew on it, dipped it in the sauce, and ate it.
"How is it?"
Qin Tian asked with a smile.
"Hmm, delicious!"
Xia Nuannuan nodded in approval with a smile.
"Brother Tian, don't just focus on showing off your affection. What about mine?"
Tang Wen looked at the two with a pitiful expression and then looked longingly at the pieces of meat already grilled on Tang Heng's side.
"In your dreams."
Tang Heng picked up the grilled meat and placed it into Liao Juan's bowl and his own, respectively.
"You guys aren't serious, right? I'm your smart and cute sister, and you're just focusing on showing off affection and sucking up? I want meat, I want meat!"
Tang Wen shouted with a bitter little face.
"Here, have this!"
Xia Nuannuan picked up the remaining piece of meat in her bowl and handed it to her.
"Woo woo... Sister Nuannuan, you're the one who loves me the most. You're the best. From now on, I'm your loyal little fan."
Tang Wen acted silly while picking up the meat, dipped it in some sauce, wrapped it in a lettuce leaf, and ate it happily.
