Chapter 1487: Moli Fails His Physical Examination
"Hey, can you stop following me?"
Zichen said, "I've told you many times, I don't know anything about joining the army. Even if you follow me, I still won't know. You should ask your second brother about these things."
"I've already asked him. Second brother made it sound so easy, but I just don't feel like it's that simple, which is why I wanted to talk to you."
Moli was determined to join the army.
But it seemed everyone was against it.
His mother did not agree, and although his father seemed to be on his side on the surface, he was actually of the same mind as his mother.
His counselor opposed it, and his eldest cousin, who was closest to him, did not support him either.
Zichen said, "Your body isn't suited for the army. Litian is so strong, but you're so thin and weak. With your physique, it's more suitable for you to be a scientist."
"No, I'm going to join the army!" Moli was as stubborn as a mule.
The annual military recruitment physical examination began. Moli took it very seriously, memorizing all the precautions and trying his best to avoid his weaknesses.
But unfortunately—he had too many shortcomings.
The physical exam results came out; he didn't pass!
Zichen was waiting outside, and seeing his dejected look, he knew the result.
He patted Moli on the shoulder to comfort him: "It's okay, if this year doesn't work out, there's always next year. You can apply directly to a military academy next year."
Heaven is his witness, he was just offering casual comfort, but he didn't expect Moli to take it seriously.
Getting into a military academy wasn't the problem; the problem was that you had to pass a physical to get into a military academy!
At five o'clock the next morning, Moli got up to run on the Playground.
He was too eager for success and tied sandbags to both his legs. As a result, after running one kilometer, he fainted on the Playground!
He happened to be discovered by a classmate doing morning reading, who hurriedly called for help and sent Moli to the Medical Room.
Moli was put on an IV drip in the Medical Room and was resuscitated, but he began to run a high fever that wouldn't go down.
The school notified his parents, and Jian Xin rushed to the school in a panic.
She didn't come alone; she brought an entire medical team!
Right there in the school's Medical Room, after checking her son with the equipment she brought, the doctor announced: "Let's go to the hospital. In his condition, just an IV drip isn't enough."
Moli was sent to the hospital and immediately entered the ICU, where a full set of respiratory equipment was used.
Moli felt his mother was making a fuss over nothing. He didn't want to use these things; he believed that over-exercising shouldn't have led to this!
Jian Yixin wouldn't let him talk and told him to be obedient.
Moli stayed in the hospital for a week, receiving a combination of Chinese and Western medicine and drinking a lot of bitter herbal medicine, and finally felt better.
Zichen came to see him and said, "See what I told you? You wouldn't listen to me. If something had happened to you, how would I have answered to your aunt and uncle?"
"It's not your fault. I didn't expect it to be this serious either. I was just exercising, how could it end up like this?"
Jian Yixin sighed and finally told him the answer.
It turned out that Moli had been born with a congenital deficiency.
From elementary school to middle school, he never participated in any sports. Everyone thought it was because his mother doted on him too much, but in reality, it was because his physical condition didn't allow it.
And this was something not only others didn't know, but Moli didn't know either. His mother had never told him before; this was the first time.
"Then why didn't you tell me about these things before?"
"I didn't want to tell you because I was afraid you'd feel different from other students, and I was afraid you'd feel inferior."
Jian Yixin also told him that the meticulous care she had given him for many years wasn't entirely because she valued the child too much; a large part of the reason was that his physical condition didn't allow for anything else.
Moli understood his mother and no longer wanted to join the army. Some things, indeed, cannot be done just because one wants to.
Prison.
Shouhou had run rampant on the sea for many years and was guilty of heinous crimes, so it was no surprise that he was sentenced to death.
He confessed to all his crimes but set one condition: he wanted to see someone—the person who had captured him last time!
According to regulations, this was not allowed.
But he still had many things he hadn't confessed to, so Shouhou used those unconfessed matters as a bargaining chip to demand to see the person wearing the camouflage uniform with the number 11.
The Prison and the police system considered it seriously and decided to ask the military to cooperate.
Litian received the order, so he changed his clothes and went to the Prison to see Shouhou.
Upon arriving at the Prison, the first person he met was the Prison leader.
Because Litian had not undergone professional training, he didn't know how to extract valuable clues, so the leader specially asked a negotiation expert to give him a brief training session and told Litian: "You don't need to be nervous. We will be watching from the room next door, and we will remind you through an earpiece what you should say."
"Okay." He wasn't nervous, but he was mainly confused; he didn't know why the Pirate leader wanted to see him.
Interrogation Room.
Litian sat at the interrogation table, and Shouhou was brought in.
When he saw Litian, a glimmer of light flashed in his dead, gray eyes, and he couldn't suppress his excitement.
Shouhou was brought to his seat and handcuffed. He suddenly made a request to the prison guards: "You all get out. I only want to talk to him."
"Behave yourself, don't try any tricks," the prison guard disagreed.
"Fine, if you don't agree, then I won't say a single word." He looked up at the ceiling, putting on an air of someone who didn't fear the consequences.
Litian nodded slightly to the prison guards: "You all go out. I can handle it alone."
The prison guards went out and locked the door from the outside.
Shouhou's emotions became agitated again. He made two strange gestures. Litian stared at him the whole time, not understanding what they meant at all.
"Boss, it's me, Shouhou. I never thought you weren't dead, that's great! Where have you been all these years?"
"What did you say?"
Litian felt that this person was not mentally sound.
"Boss, don't you recognize me?" Shouhou said urgently.
I truly don't know him.
Litian collected everyone he had known from childhood to the present, and there was no such person among them.
"That's not right, Boss, you're so young!" Shouhou finally discovered the problem.
"Behave yourself and stop playing tricks in front of me. Didn't you want to see me? I am right in front of you now, so explain all your issues clearly."
Shouhou didn't pick up on his comment and muttered to himself: "It's not right, the accent is wrong, the expression is also wrong, but he looks exactly the same, how can this be?"
"What do you mean exactly the same?"
"You are the Boss's son!" Although Shouhou was slow to realize it, he finally figured it out.
Litian scolded: "Nonsense, hurry up and explain your issues, behave yourself." He was so angry that the veins on his forehead were bulging.
He had completely forgotten all the words the negotiation expert had just taught him.
"Do you know? Your father used to be our boss. Back then, I followed him and lived the high life. Although we made a living at sea, risking our lives for money with our heads on the line, your father was always exceptionally good to us."
"If it weren't for Sheng Hanyu from Jiangzhou later on, your father wouldn't have died. You should call me Uncle!"
