Chapter 141: Battle in the Dream
"I am a Dawn Knight, belonging to Sequence Six of the Warrior Path, characterized by giant-like strength and relatively high attack and defense."
"Extraordinary members of this sequence can condense light into various weapons, wielding Dawn Armor, Dawn Sword, Light Storm, and other extraordinary abilities."
Father Wu Tela Fusiji gave a detailed account of all the extraordinary abilities and traits he possessed.
Leiketon listened and kept nodding. As expected of the Warrior Path, its combat power is indeed formidable, with no obvious weaknesses.
If forced to name a flaw, it would be that the mastered skills aren't flashy enough. The extraordinary abilities are practical but lack versatility.
After hearing Father Wu Tela Fusiji's description, Leiketon quickly constructed a suitable battle plan in his mind.
He then mimicked the Psychologist's extraordinary ability, leaving himself a mental cue to stay rational in the dream, preventing himself from being deceived by Father Wu Tela Fusiji's negative persona exploiting the multilayered nature of the mind world.
Having set the mental cue, Leiketon turned to Father Wu Tela Fusiji, gave a slight nod and said:
"I am ready."
Father Wu Tela Fusiji nodded, handed an ordinary-looking candle to Leiketon, and reminded him:
"This is a Nightmare Candle; it allows its holder to enter the deepest part of the target's mind and materialize the corresponding scene."
"You must note that you cannot stay in the mind world for more than five minutes, nor be killed; otherwise your spirit will die and your body will become a vegetative state."
"Understood."
Leiketon gave a slight nod and then lit the Nightmare Candle.
The moment the flame lit, Leiketon felt his surroundings begin to shift; the mental cue he set and the Candle's properties kept him sufficiently clear-headed and rational in the mind world.
Leiketon felt his consciousness seemingly descending continuously, as if the surrounding environment were falling down.
When everything steadied, Leiketon found himself on a deck shrouded in mist.
Leiketon looked around; the mist limited visibility on the deck to only a few dozen meters. He stepped cautiously, the deck echoing with a "thud" sound.
Just after two steps, an image flashed in Leiketon's mind of himself being pierced from behind by a sword.
"Prophecy?" a word flashed in Leiketon's mind, then inspiration was triggered.
Leiketon quickly bent, stepped forward and rolled a circle; before he could rise, a massive sense of danger surged again.
Leiketon had to roll sideways again; a two-handed greatsword landed where he had just been, stirring up a spray of wood chips.
"Light!" before standing, Leiketon whispered a Dragon Language word.
Blue-white light flickered in his eyes, pupils contracting, then a dazzling brilliance erupted.
In the next instant, an invisible ripple spread, a dragon-like aura appearing over the deck. The Psychologist's intimidation ability followed.
After disrupting Father Wu Tela Fusiji's negative persona's attack rhythm, Leiketon stood up again on the deck and stepped back two paces.
The effect of the spell flash had faded, the deck once again shrouded in mist. Leiketon also saw clearly the image of Father Wu Tela Fusiji's negative persona.
A man in his thirties or forties, with light, sparse eyebrows and faint wrinkles at the corners of his eyes, cheeks, and mouth. Over 2.20 meters tall, very robust, dressed in a sailor's outfit.
Overall he resembled a younger version of Father Wu Tela Fusiji.
While assessing the negative persona, Leiketon employed his Astrologer ability, weaving brilliant starlight around himself, one after another, condensing into a massive transparent amber.
The double-handed sword in the negative persona's hands was cloaked in a dawn-like radiance, feeling sharp, sturdy, heavy, and broad.
In the next moment, the exaggerated Dawn Great Sword struck the transparent amber surrounding Leiketon, leaving a luminous trace.
Leiketon paid no heed to the negative persona's attack; this transparent amber barrier was not something a Dawn Knight could break in one or two blows.
Having been satisfied with his defense, Leiketon then saw the negative persona swing the Dawn Great Sword as if it were a single-handed blade, drawing sword flowers.
The transparent amber before him quickly filled with dawn-like markings, as if it could shatter at any moment.
Leiketon's eyes were surrounded by blue-white phosphorescence.
"Frost!" he whispered the Dragon Language word, and crystalline streams of light descended in the air, landing on the deck and quickly coating the surroundings with a thick layer of frost.
The negative persona, wielding the Dawn Great Sword, radiated layers of brilliance that coalesced on its body like solid armor.
The streams of light settled on the armor, forming layers of ice crystals, encasing Father Wu Tela Fusiji's negative persona in a single ice crystal.
Leiketon waved his hand lightly, and the scarred transparent amber turned into specks of starlight and dissipated.
Having become proficient in dream combat, Leiketon no longer hesitated and struck with full force.
In the next instant, stars appeared around him, countless and dazzling. Their radiance poured out, converging into a magnificent Light Giant Pillar.
The negative persona, having just broken free of the ice crystal seal, was engulfed by the Light Giant Pillar; its Dawn Armor dissolved under the starlight, crumbling away piece by piece, and the Dawn Great Sword it wielded also began to disintegrate.
The negative persona tried to burst out of the starlight's enclosure, but the surrounding dense, partially intact ice crystals hindered its movement.
The negative persona had to halt, and the Dawn Sword in its hand emitted a faint glow before it was thrust into the deck ahead, where the great sword then crumbled.
Fragments of dawn-like light, countless and innumerable, formed a flashing, ferocious, razor-sharp vortex that clashed with the Light Giant Pillar formed by the intersecting starlight.
The Light Storm, controlled by the negative persona, surged toward Leiketon, while being continuously dissolved by the starlight, never truly breaking out of the starlight's enclosure.
The clash lasted about a minute; the Dawn Knight's Light Storm gradually weakened. The negative persona was completely engulfed by the Light Giant Pillar formed by the converging starlight.
The negative persona did not endure long under the starlight; it was swiftly annihilated.
The scene projected by the Nightmare Candle gradually faded, and Leiketon found himself still gripping the Nightmare Candle, standing directly two meters in front of Father Wu Tela Fusiji.
Father Wu Tela Fusiji sat quietly in his seat, as if everything that just happened were merely a dream.
After regaining his senses, Leiketon returned the Nightmare Candle to Father Wu Tela Fusiji.
Father Wu Tela Fusiji took the Nightmare Candle handed over by Leiketon, a rare smile appearing on his face; after bowing in thanks, he said:
"Thank you for your help; I can feel that the negative persona within my body has been completely eradicated. This battle was cleaner and more decisive than I expected."
"Preparation in advance is crucial, and I am already an Extraordinary of Sequence Five, giving me a great advantage against your negative persona."
Leiketon smiled, offered a brief explanation, then found a spot nearby to sit.
Father Wu Tela Fusiji gave a slight nod and asked:
"What kind of reward do you require?"
"The alchemist's demonic potion formula, and let my rabbit stay here; there is ample space for it to grow plants."
Leiketon lifted the quietly seated Tu Ba Ge and placed it before Father Wu Tela Fusiji, saying:
Father Wutelafusiji glanced at Tu Ba Ge and easily judged it to be an extraordinary creature. Curiously, he asked:
「It consumes the magic potion of the Farmer's Path? 」
「Yes, it is now a Harvest Priest. 」
Leiketon nodded slightly and said.
However, Tu Ba Ge has not yet digested the Harvest Priest's potion; this is also why Leiketon wants it to accompany the Harvest Church for a while, hoping that here it will have a chance to play the role and digest the potion.
Father Wutelafusiji nodded slightly: "No problem."
Tu Ba Ge unhappily fiddled with the hat on its head, really not wanting to stay here as a rabbit.
During the time Leiketon spent with it at sea, they experienced too many battles, causing great harm to Tu Ba Ge's fragile spirit; it always thought the outside world was that dangerous, with battles breaking out at the slightest provocation.
Father Wutelafusiji rose and left the church hall to fetch paper and pen to write down the pharmacist's formula. Just as he reached the door at the back of the church, the door was pushed open from the other side.
A person with black hair and red pupils, hair swept back, appearing about twenty-seven or twenty-eight, handsome, with undisguised arrogance between the brows, walked out from behind the door.
Leiketon sensed the fluctuation of the spirit realm, looked up and saw the young person who had made eye contact with Father Wutelafusiji; more precisely, a young blood clan.
「Um sorry, I think I might have gotten lost. 」
