Chapter 305: Naga
The forces behind me? Knowledge Church? Aurora Society? Or Tarot Society?
As his thoughts floated, Lei Kedun muttered self-mockingly in his heart, then quickly composed himself, his eyes fixed on the three huge heads drooping ahead:
"The forces behind me? Do you really want to become someone's attendant god?"
"Of course I am willing."
"As long as you can help me break the seal."
"Moreover, you just mentioned the apocalypse; I sensed danger."
The three heads of the giant sea serpent each answered in turn.
Its three heads have very distinct personalities; each should correspond to a complete personality.
After a moment's thought, Lei Kedun casually pulled a faded paper figurine from his pocket, tossed it toward the middle head, and said offhand:
"Sure, leave this paper figurine; I can rely on it to establish contact with you."
"Don't worry, I'll be able to reply to you soon; time is running out."
The middle head of the giant sea serpent suddenly opened its mouth, revealing sharp fangs and a deep throat, and swallowed the pale yellow paper figurine in one gulp.
Afterwards, its massive body began to disintegrate; the shadow covering its surface faded away, returning to a mass of rich color, and the separated region reconnected with the spirit realm.
"My name is:"
"Wajie·Weier"
"Hope we can cooperate happily!"
As the three heads each finished their final words, the giant sea serpent's image completely dissipated.
Lei Kedun's breath grew heavy for a moment; he felt a spiritual-level contract forming, based on the promise he had made. Regardless of whether he was sincere, after a certain time, the idea of fulfilling that promise would arise in his heart, growing stronger as time passed.
It also grazed the characteristics of the Black Emperor Path? Or perhaps there are corresponding magical items left in this underwater city, which it has utilized.
Purple light flowed in Lei Kedun's eyes; his gaze pierced the veil between the spirit realm and reality, taking a rough glance at the city hidden deep in the dark seabed.
Soon, he turned and left that spirit realm area, wandering toward the location of the Golden Dream.
At the center of this underwater city, on a vast square as large as where giants might act, there appeared one, two, six crimson light clusters.
The flickering light faintly illuminated the surrounding area, revealing overlapping layers of dark green scales, each scale bearing strange patterns that interlinked, forming a twisted, eldritch whole.
Boom! Boom!
Heavy blows striking the ground rang out one after another, rising and falling with a certain peculiar rhythm.
This sound continuously spread outward, penetrating layers of buildings, clearly transmitted to the ears of every creature in this sea.
Those strangely shaped marine creatures instantly stiffened their bodies, then all entered a sleepwalking-like state.
They moved in orderly fashion, circling this underwater city, their speed increasing as if performing some bizarre ritual, filled with a maddening aura that permeated the area.
Like howls, accompanied by madness, along with some indistinct sounds, echoed in this sea area:
"His traits are not pure, yet he retains a clear mind."
"Everyone has secrets, whether it's you, me, or him."
"As long as I can get out, it doesn't matter whose attendant god I become; I don't want to greet the apocalypse in this dark abyss."
Golden Dream, inside Captain Ai Dewenna's quarters.
Lei Kedun's silhouette appeared against the bulging window; he casually glanced out, leaned idly against the window frame, still holding his breakfast.
Before Ai Dewenna could speak, he asked first:
"Do you know about the underwater city? It seems to be located somewhere near where the Furious Sea meets the Suniya Sea—a vast, ancient city whose architecture resembles that of the Third Era, though we cannot be certain when it sank beneath the waves."
After speaking, he took a sip of the still-warm hot drink in his hand and began to enjoy his pancake.
Ai Dewenna furrowed her brows slightly, pondered for a moment, then spoke carefully:
"The underwater city is most famous for the 'Lost Newins,' but I cannot confirm whether that is the city you refer to."
"Our exploration of the ocean has barely reached the surface and shallow seas; the deep sea is accessible only to the Storm Church, yet they do not publish the relevant data."
"Besides the 'Lost Newins,' I know that the underwater city is the only one sought by a Naga tribe to seal a powerful monster, which is also the object of their faith."
Lei Kedun chewed the food in his mouth thoroughly, swallowed it, then asked:
"Naga tribe? Where are they? Can you tell me about the powerful monster they worship?"
Ai Dewenna thought for a moment, walked to the small blackboard in the captain's quarters, drew a rough map, then pointed to the symbol representing Suniya Island and said:
"Setting out from Suniya Island and sailing southeast for about 1,200 nautical miles will take us into waters never formally explored by humanity."
"That Naga tribe is active in those waters; I have contacted them there before, and I have only seen some simple murals of the monster they worship."
"It is a strange creature with three heads and eight tails; ignoring the extra heads and tails, it resembles a giant sea serpent, and the three heads in the murals show different age characteristics, seemingly corresponding to youth, middle age, and old age."
"That's it, though—I didn't notice it actually has eight tails because the shadow was too blurry and it was coiled around its body."
While pondering, Lei Kedun asked the next question:
"Is it called Wajie·Weier?"
Ai Dewenna's eyes flashed briefly; she spoke with certainty:
"Have you been to that underwater city? And have you also seen that powerful monster?"
"I don't know its exact name; that Naga tribe is very hostile toward humans and unwilling to engage with me much."
Lei Kedun gave a slight nod, took a sip of his hot drink, then continued:
"Just now, on the way here, I happened to pass through that spirit realm region and exchanged a few words with that monster, uh, Wajie·Weier."
"It is quite rational, its desire to come out is strong, and I have reached a certain cooperation with it."
"Cooperation? \" Ai Dewenna frowned slightly, falling into thought.
After a moment, she asked with a hint of doubt:
"Do you intend to rely on it to develop your maritime power?"
"Is this a divine revelation?"
Lei Kedun nodded slightly, then shook his head slightly and said:
"To gain speaking power at sea, a demigod of the Tyrant Pathway is indispensable."
"That Wajie·Weier combined the half-god level characteristics of multiple pathways, including the Tyrant Pathway; although the traits are somewhat mixed, this allowed its strength and status to be considerably enhanced, surpassing the usual Sequence 3, but not yet reaching the level of Sequence 2."
Ai Dewenna nodded in understanding; a Saint close to Sequence 2 could indeed gain considerable speaking power at sea.
"The ocean has always been the domain of the Storm Church; the appearance of a Saint might break the delicate balance between the pirates supported by various forces and the Storm Church."
Ai Dewenna pondered and voiced her thoughts.
Lei Kedun nodded lightly, but his voice was flat as he said:
"As the Doomsday approaches, all forces will begin to act frequently; by then, the Storm Church will have no time to attend to a monster that has claimed territory as its own."
Although the major churches have always had prophecies about the Doomsday, I haven't paid much attention to this matter before, or is it that my clearance in the Knowledge Church is insufficient? I cannot access more information.
Ai Dewenna looked at Lei Kedun with doubt, her tone unconsciously becoming grave.
"Is the Doomsday mentioned in the church's prophecy real?"
Lei Kedun nodded slightly:
"Once you become a demigod, you will have the clearance to access the relevant data; the church's prophecy records the exact time of the Doomsday: the Doomsday will arrive at the end of 1368."
"1368."
Ai Dewenna pondered briefly.
Thud! Thud!
"Captain! The crew we left ashore has already sent over the news from this period at sea."
"Second Mate" Aofusi of the Golden Dream lightly knocked twice on the open captain's cabin door, raised the few sheets of white paper in his hand, and explained his purpose.
Ai Dewenna quickly gathered her thoughts, turned to look at Aofusi and said:
"I understand; leave the telegram, inform the others, and prepare for today's morning lesson."
"Okay, Captain."
Aofusi's expression stiffened slightly upon hearing the morning lesson; he placed the telegram on the desk in front of Ai Dewenna and hurriedly left.
Ai Dewenna briefly flipped through the telegram in her hand, her brows gradually furrowing as she seemed to fall into thought.
After a moment, she handed the telegram to Lei Kedun and said:
"This is a telegram from the logistics personnel of the Golden Dream on Aolawei Island."
"There are rumors that the pirates on the Deathbringer did not die in our conflict; they were all devoured by that ghost ship, so the Deathbringer has recently been recruiting crew members en masse to replenish."
Lei Kedun narrowed his eyes slightly; as a prophet's intuition, he felt this rumor was likely true.
He then asked curiously:
"Who spread this kind of rumor?"
Ai Dewenna shook her head slightly:
"Various rumors at sea arise endlessly; most are drunken nonsense, making it hard to verify their truthfulness and trace their source."
