Chapter 381: The

~8 min read 1,412 words

It tugged uncomfortably at the small vest on its body and grumbled at Daniz:

"It's too stuffy in there. Why didn't you leave a bigger gap in the suitcase?"

Daniz mimicked the mocking expression Tu Ba Ge had used on him before, looking at Tu Ba Ge with disdain and saying, "Stupid rabbit."

"If I'd left a bigger gap, wouldn't the passersby around have seen you?"

"Bayam is under such tight security right now. If your identity as a Beyonder creature were discovered, you wouldn't even get the chance to go chew on mud beneath the Church of the Waves — they'd directly reclaim you as a Beyonder characteristic."

After saying that, he walked straight to the window and looked through the glass at the passengers still boarding the ship and the bustling dock.

He took a deep breath and said with great relish:

"Air of freedom~ Finally free of that lunatic Gehrman Sparrow!"

"So you chose to return to the Golden Dream and still have to make up classes?"

Tu Ba Ge's voice rang out inopportunely, making the expression on Daniz's face stiffen. Dogshit — if you don't bring up make-up classes, we can still be friends. Pah~ This stinking rabbit could never be the friend of me, 'Flame' Daniz.

Freed from Klein's side, Daniz completely released his true nature, and he and Tu Ba Ge traded barbs with each other from time to time.

After waiting nearly half an hour, the passenger ship finally left port. Daniz watched the harbor gradually receding through the glass window, his mood better than ever.

After another half hour, once the passenger ship had completely left the waters near Bayam, Daniz leaned back in his chair, somewhat bored, staring blankly at the wall clock hanging on the wall.

A moment later, he turned his head to look at Tu Ba Ge sprawled on the single-seater sofa and asked:

"When is your boss coming? Did he leave anything for positioning?"

"This is already the third time you've asked that question!" Tu Ba Ge glared at Daniz with dissatisfaction, then continued:

"He doesn't need anything for positioning. The boss can directly locate me."

"Looks like you've already grown impatient waiting."

Reighton's voice abruptly echoed through the cabin. The light in the cabin suddenly dimmed, and pairs of cold, indifferent eyes grew out from the shadows and crevices.

It was as if this cabin had overlapped with an unknown, eerie region. Daniz and Tu Ba Ge nearly simultaneously looked up toward the spot in front of the glass window.

The original glass window had vanished, replaced by seats condensed from starlight. Reighton sat in a high-backed chair formed of starlight, holding a steaming cup of coffee in his hands.

Tu Ba Ge leaped up from the single-seater sofa the very next moment, landing directly on the tabletop condensed from starlight. After studying Reighton carefully for a moment, it threw itself into Reighton's arms, its voice full of surprise and joy: "Boss, you're alright!"

Wisps of starlight diffused, gathering the spilled coffee back into the cup. Then Reighton extended his right hand and snapped his fingers with a crack.

Starlight immediately diffused all around, enveloping the entire room, then rapidly condensed. Around the existing seats, a carriage shimmering with brilliant starlight took shape.

After placing Tu Ba Ge on the seat beside him, he looked at Daniz, who was still standing there in a daze, and chuckled: "Grab your luggage. We're heading to the Golden Dream right now."

Backlund time, three in the afternoon.

Within that magnificent palace above the gray fog, deep red light continuously rose. In just a moment, figures of all kinds had seated themselves on either side of the mottled, ancient bronze long table.

After adjusting to the change before his eyes, Reighton looked directly to his left. The previously empty seat beside him now held a figure. Though the features were somewhat blurred, one could easily recognize him as Mr. Azik. Emlyn the "Moon," seated one seat away from Reighton, also noticed that the seat to his right had gained an occupant. He made no effort to conceal his curious gaze, tilting his chin up slightly as he scrutinized this new member.

"Good afternoon, Mr. 'Fool'~"

"Justice" Audrey was, as always, the first member to rise and bow to the "Fool." Following Audrey's words, the others also rose to bow to the "Fool," then took their seats in turn.

Audrey observed everyone with a heart full of delight. She keenly noticed a slight outward leakage of spirituality from both the "Moon" and the "Sun."

They had achieved advancement! Just in these past few days! A new member? Audrey noticed Azik seated to Reighton's right. She turned her body slightly, preparing to introduce everyone to the new member by greeting each Tarot Club member in turn, just as she had done last time.

A tap-tap sound rang out. Audrey turned her head in some surprise and saw Mr. "Fool," shrouded in gray fog, rhythmically tapping the edge of the table in front of him.

Mr. "Fool" intends to introduce this new member to us himself? His identity must be quite extraordinary — otherwise, Mr. "Fool" would have let me help everyone get acquainted through the greeting format, like last time.

As these thoughts turned, "Justice" Audrey sat back down in her seat, somewhat curious as she waited for Mr. "Fool" to introduce this new member.

Klein, shrouded in gray fog, let everyone's gazes fall upon him. He leaned back slightly and spoke in a leisurely voice:

"This is Mr. 'Death.' He does not participate in gatherings long-term; he only comes occasionally."

Amidst the gazes of the others — some startled, some inquisitive — he turned to introduce the Tarot Club members to Azik: "This is Mr. 'Hanged Man.' This is Miss 'Justice.' This is Mr. 'White Tower.' This is..."

After "Fool" Klein finished the introductions, Azik smiled and nodded to each person in turn.

"Hanged Man" A'erjie scrutinized Azik with a veiled gaze, his expression somewhat complex. Mr. "Fool" places great importance on this new member, and he only participates in gatherings occasionally — his identity is quite extraordinary... representing the will of some important figure? No — if that were the case, he wouldn't only participate occasionally... He himself is an important figure!

Only comes occasionally... This new member is quite special. His attire and bearing are like those of a mild-mannered middle-aged gentleman. "Justice" Audrey likewise studied Azik, making her corresponding deductions.

Cattleya, as a Beyonder of the Mystery Seeker pathway, could see more, but whenever she looked at Azik, a dangerous intuitive warning always rose in her heart, making her subconsciously withdraw her gaze.

Cattleya casually averted her gaze so that Azik was no longer in her field of vision. Can't look at him — this is dangerous. He is an angel! An angel under Mr. "Fool"!

A surge of intense emotions churned in Cattleya's heart. She gazed at the figure at the very head of the mottled long table with somewhat excited and astonished eyes.

"Sun" Derrick and "Moon" Emlyn did not pay overmuch attention to the new member — one didn't concern himself much with matters outside the Land of the Gods-forsaken, while the other was still immersed in the joy of advancing to Vampire Baron.

As everyone fell quiet, "Hermit" Cattleya, seeing that no one else intended to speak, turned her gaze to the figure at the head of the mottled long table and raised her right hand slightly:

"Honorable Mr. 'Fool,' I have memorized five pages of Roselle's diary."

This was not the limit of her memorization. As a Beyonder of the Mystery Seeker pathway, even forcibly memorizing another five pages of the diary would not be an impossible feat. Emperor Roselle's diary couldn't possibly contain useful content on every single page — Mr. "Fool" was probably only looking for a certain portion of it.

"Hermit" Cattleya's words made "Justice" Audrey feel somewhat disappointed as she apologized to the "Fool" at the head of the table: "I'm sorry, Mr. 'Fool.' I haven't been able to contact any members of the 'Psychological Alchemy Society' recently, so I'm unable to provide you with any diary pages."

"I haven't been able to collect any new diary pages either."

"Magician" Fors followed immediately.

Klein, seated at the head of the table, nodded slightly and said in a tone as if he didn't mind: "Don't worry about it."
