Chapter 392: Yellow Light's Advice

~8 min read 1,474 words

Boom! A silver‑white bolt, wrapped in a palpable aura of brutal, destructive wrath, shot straight through the basement, landed on the pool of darkness, and in an instant wore it away completely.

As the silver‑white bolt faded, only a massive charred crater remained, while around it a bronze‑colored glimmer continuously surfaced and slowly coalesced.

A figure, carried by a gale, fell from the crater; his thick hair fluttered in the wind, entwined with strands of leaping silver.

In the dock district, Ke Lai En's spirit, who had been watching the sky's cloud changes from his hotel room, gave a subtle reaction.

"Is it over? I wonder if A Meng here has been cleared out by the Storm Lord."

After a moment's hesitation, Ke Lai En decided to perform a divination first, then decide whether to go to the space above the Gray Mist.

Since it involves A Meng and a being like the Storm Lord, my divination would certainly be inaccurate; I need to enlist a third party's aid, preferably one skilled in divination.

As he pondered, Ke Lai En's mind naturally recalled information about the Seven Lights of the Spirit Realm. "Yellow Light" Wei Ni Tan is a symbol of the astrological domain, and his divination ability may be the strongest among the Seven Lights.

Having decided whom to seek help from, Ke Lai En swiftly turned back to his bedroom, fetched the ritual materials, and began laying out a simple ceremony on the floor.

"The gemstone associated with 'Yellow Light' Wei Ni Tan is emerald; I have no place to obtain one right now, so I can only substitute it with the Night Goddess's Night Fragrant Herb essential oil. I hope 'Yellow Light' won't mind."

He muttered softly, flicked his fingers to conjure a few flames, lit the candles arranged on the floor, then dripped several drops of Night Fragrant Herb oil and hydrosol into them.

The whole room instantly filled with the scent of Night Fragrant Herb, naturally soothing emotions and spirit; Ke Lai En placed the mirror he held before the candles, stepped back, and began chanting in Ancient Hermes language:

"Everlasting Light of the Spirit Realm, embodiment of infinite knowledge, the Yellow of reason and adaptation."

"I beseech you for assistance;"

"I seek the power of divination."

Just as he finished the prayer, before he could state his question, Lei Ke Dun saw the surrounding light suddenly dim, the candle flames turn eerily deep, and the swirling wind wobble.

A gaunt old man in a lemon‑yellow robe, with white long whiskers, suddenly appeared within the mirror placed on the floor.

He wore a gentle smile, bowed to Ke Lai En and greeted:

"Good noon, Your Highness!"

"Good noon, Mr. Wei Ni Tan, we can use ordinary titles, no need for excessive courtesy."

Ke Lai En likewise bowed to the other and greeted aloud.

Having previously faced 'Red Light' Er Moruya, he remained very calm and composed when dealing with 'Yellow Light'.

"Your Highness, what would you like to ask? Or what would you like to divine?"

After the mutual greetings, 'Yellow Light' Wei Ni Tan asked naturally.

Ke Lai En glanced at the still‑thick clouds outside the window, his voice sounding somewhat solemn as he said:

"What just happened in Bai Ya Mu? Has it fully concluded?"

In the mirror, 'Yellow Light' Wei Ni Tan's eyes seemed to deepen for a moment, as if sifting information from the Spirit Realm.

After a brief instant, his eyes cleared again, and he gave Ke Lai En a slight nod before saying:

"Your Highness, earlier your friend and A Meng stole the Storm Church's Wave Temple in Bai Ya Mu."

"The Storm Lord unleashed divine punishment, destroying the vast majority of A Meng's avatars across the Luo Si De Archipelago, but failed to retrieve the stolen Wave Temple."

Stealing the Wave Temple? What benefit does that give them? To provoke the Storm Lord? It sounds absurd, yet somehow feels normal; Ke Lai En couldn't keep Ge Er Man Si Pa Luo's cold expression, his mouth twitched slightly.

He inhaled deeply, steadied his expression, and asked, "How did they manage it? And what use is stealing the Wave Temple?" 'Yellow Light' Wei Ni Tan shook his head slightly, his voice calm as he replied: "A Meng is the second child of the Ancient Sun God, inherently embodying the singularity of erroneous paths. Theft and deception are his greatest talents; whether concrete objects or abstract concepts, as long as they exist, he can steal them. His deceit can even fool natural laws and inherent rules."

"By nature he loves adventure and seeks thrills; to him this may simply be an amusing affair."

The Ancient Sun God left a prophecy at his birth: he is the god of cunning, the god of mischief, the 'Light of the Coming Apocalypse.'

"Except for the final line, which remains uninterpretated, the first two have fully manifested in A Meng."

That's a massive brat, yet powerful enough that most people can't deal with him. Ke Lai En formed that assessment in his mind.

'Yellow Light' Wei Ni Tan's voice continued from the mirror: "From what I observe, your friend did provide some guidance in this matter."

"Because of some irregular shifts in fate, he encountered A Meng; to escape A Meng and resolve the issue of the Probability Dice, he suggested stealing the Wave Temple to A Meng."

He had just rescued him from the witches, only to run into A Meng; what a ridiculous stroke of luck, Ke Lai En sighed softly, then asked in puzzlement: "The Probability Dice?"

"And A Meng agreed so readily? He couldn't possibly miss Al's true intentions, could he?"

'Yellow Light' Wei Ni Tan gave a gentle nod, his voice steady as he explained to Ke Lai En: "It is a seal governed by the Life School, a product of the unique evolution of the Wheel of Fate's pathway, possessing the ability to control the probability of every event, and it retains a certain living quality."

As for A Meng, as long as the matter is sufficiently interesting and enticing, he won't mind following the other's line of thought to act.

They enjoy fate's favor, amplifying the probability of successfully stealing the Wave Temple to its limit.

Although subsequent mutual clashes prevented them from leaving the scene in time, after enduring the Storm's wrath and divine punishment, they ultimately escaped Bai Ya Mu.

Having withstood a round of divine punishment and still escaped Bai Ya Mu—was the Storm Lord lenient, or was their luck truly that absurd?

After a moment's hesitation, Ke Lai En continued:

"Does Bai Ya Mu still have any of A Meng's avatars?"

"No. The entire Luo Si De Archipelago will not have any A Meng avatars for a short time; even if the Storm Church cannot detect A Meng‑infested entities, the Storm Lord will personally patrol these waters."

"Your Highness, you must watch the Probability Dice. When the Storm Lord unleashed divine punishment I could not discern specifics, but afterward the dice underwent subtle changes; it remains alive, yet it is no longer the same as before."

'Yellow Light' Wei Ni Tan shook his head slightly, answered Ke Lai En's question, then gave a solemn reminder.

"No longer the same as before?" Ke Lai En mused aloud.

'Yellow Light' Wei Ni Tan still shook his head: "It's an intuition; even as a member of the Seven Lights of the Spirit Realm, I cannot perceive any further."

"I understand," Ke Lai En said, furrowing his brow and nodding, then asked, "Has Al now escaped A Meng?"

In the dim mirror, 'Yellow Light' Wei Ni Tan's eyes deepened again for a moment, then his voice calmly answered Ke Lai En's question: "So far, A Meng seems still interested in him; they are still pulling at each other."

"Thank you for your answer."

Ke Lai En gave a gentle nod, courteously bowing in gratitude.

"It is my honor."

'Yellow Light' Wei Ni Tan bowed slightly toward Ke Lai En in the mirror, then his figure faded, actively severing the link to the ceremony.

Ah—Ke Lai En exhaled, then gently flicked his fingers, creating a weak air blast that snuffed out the still‑burning candles.

It seems that whatever ritual I use to connect with the Seven Lights of the Spirit Realm, they will appear instantly to answer me. Is this the feeling of a fox borrowing a tiger's might? Moreover, the Probability Dice is a seal governed by the Life School, a product of the unique evolution of the Wheel of Fate, and it must be crucial to Wei Er Ang Sai Ting. I have a premonition I'll be dreaming again tonight.

He sighed to himself for a moment, then Klein began to clean up the aftermath of the ritual.
