Chapter 6: Volume 1 Chapter 6 Dangerous Professor Makes My Soul Swoon (6)

~7 min read 1,306 words

Jiang Zhi, who only woke up the next afternoon, habitually went to order takeout, accidentally aggravating her inflamed wisdom tooth, the pain making her eye sockets red.

After closing the takeout app interface, she opened Huo Yin's WeChat and sent a message.

【Zhizhi: Teacher Huo, are you there?】

He replied quickly.

【Huo: What's wrong?】

【Zhizhi: I can't cook, and with my toothache I can't order takeout either—can I come to your place for a meal?】

【Zhizhi: If you don't agree, it's fine—I can go out to eat something.】

As for what to eat, she couldn't guarantee.

Huo Yin saw her two messages, lifted his hand to take off the gold glasses resting on his nose bridge, and furrowed his brows tightly.

If her tooth doesn't reduce inflammation and she keeps taking anti-inflammatory medicine, it would be very unfavorable to Huo Yin's plan.

What he has always wanted is a perfect eyeball containing no impurities.

【Huo: Come over.】

【Address】

With her back to the bedroom surveillance, Jiang Zhi curled her lips in success.

Nailed it!

Following the address Huo Yin sent, the taxi stopped at a luxurious, massive high-rise building located in the city's prime district; the Nordic-style architecture was surrounded by lush greenery, offering excellent scenery.

After exiting the 19th-floor elevator, Jiang Zhi walked to a door, raised her hand and knocked once—the door opened from inside.

The man wore a thin dark sweater, his long, straight legs clad in casual trousers; standing nearly 1.9 meters tall, he seemed level with the door, his top-star face aloof, hinting 'keep strangers away'.

"Teacher Huo." Jiang Zhi dazed for a moment, her long lashes fluttering, she murmured, "How can you be so handsome?"

Huo Yin paused a moment, the corners of his dark lips slightly lifting, dispelling some of his aloofness, making one's heart flutter: "Come in."

Following the man inside, Jiang Zhi glanced at the spacious living room, decorated like a model home from a website, devoid of any lived-in feel.

Jiang Zhi noticed that much of the furniture was brand new and never used, and Huo Yin's answer came from beside her.

"I usually stay in the dorm arranged by the school, and I come here to live during summer and winter breaks." Huo Yin walked to the coffee table and poured her a cup of water.

Jiang Zhi nodded, "With such a big house, do you just leave it empty? Why not rent it out?"

After saying that, she realized her words were stupid.

He's so rich—does he even need that bit of rent?

Huo Yin said lightly, "I don't like outsiders living in my house."

"What would you like to eat?" he then asked.

Jiang Zhi's eyes rolled, and before she could speak, the man had already decided for her.

"Let's have porridge."

Upon hearing that, Jiang Zhi recalled the terror of being dominated by millet porridge last night and immediately said, "I won't drink porridge; I want to eat noodle soup."

Noodles also count as a light diet.

Huo Yin gave an "uh" and headed to the kitchen.

Jiang Zhi wanted to see how he cooked noodles, so she followed behind him into the kitchen.

The kitchen was very clean and tidy, the utensils all brand new; Huo Yin wanted to get noodles from the fridge, and a hand reached forward, holding a bag of noodles.

"Here."

Huo Yin: "."

"If you're bored, you can watch TV."

Jiang Zhi shook her head, excitedly saying, "I just want to watch you cook noodles."

Huo Yin glanced at the girl's shining, sparkling eyes, waited a few seconds, took the noodles from her hand, and said, "I've never cooked noodles for anyone else; it might not taste good."

Jiang Zhi's brows and eyes filled with delight, she leaned in and asked, "So this is your first time?"

Huo Yin: ". Yes."

She always manages to say ambiguous things that make people's imaginations run wild.

Jiang Zhi beamed, two cute dimples appearing at the corners of her mouth: "Teacher Huo, am I the first person to come to your home?"

Huo Yin's fingers, holding the noodles, paused in midair for a moment before he finally replied with an "uh."

Jiang Zhi tilted her head, stared straight at the man's handsome profile, then stepped closer.

"Teacher Huo, give me all your future firsts."

Hearing those wolfish words, Teacher Huo: "."

He took a deep breath, after a moment put down the noodles in his hand, turned, extended a finger to press against the girl's porcelain-like forehead, and pushed her out.

"Do you still want to eat noodles?"

Jiang Zhi nodded, "I do!"

Huo Yin's face sank: "Then don't hinder me here."

After kicking her out of the kitchen, Huo Yin rubbed his fingertip, a clear sensation of abnormality transmitting from his heart.

Just like last time, he tried hard to ignore it.

The steaming noodles, giving off heat, were placed on the table; Jiang Zhi smelled the aroma, her saliva uncontrollably gushing.

"So fragrant!" She tightly gripped her chopsticks, leaned over to look at the noodles, and exclaimed delightedly, "You even put an egg in!"

A bowl of noodles with an egg cracked in—perfect!

Huo Yin was wiping his fingers with a tissue; hearing the sound, he hummed and said, "It's a bit hot—eat slowly."

He said that too late.

Jiang Zhi lifted a chopstickful of noodles to her mouth, burned herself, and grimaced.

"So hot, so hot!" Tears burned out of her eyes, splattering down from her reddened eye corners onto the dining table.

Huo Yin furrowed his brows, immediately turned and fetched the medical kit.

His distinct-knuckled fingers gently pinched her chin; after seeing the blister inside her mouth, Huo Yin's eyes, like a still swamp, flashed icy, his voice cold and deep: "Just out of the pot, use your brain a bit, you'd know it's hot, yet you ate it so fast!"

She's not just ordinarily stupid.

Even the husky downstairs is smarter than she is.

Jiang Zhi was scolded, and she spoke up, voice aggrieved: "I, I was too hungry, I forgot."

The girl's eye corners tinged with a hint of crimson, her eye sockets glistening with tears, making her both pitiable and infuriating.

Huo Yin gave her a cold, indifferent glance, then promptly applied medicine to her.

"Wait for the noodles to cool before eating; first apply the medicine."

Jiang Zhi shrank her neck, letting out a soft hum.

After tasting the bitterness of the medicine on her tongue, she whined: "Wuu wuu, so bitter!"

"Don't lick it!" Huo Yin withdrew his finger, admonishing.

Jiang Zhi pouted; she was hungry again, and her mouth hurt.

It could be said that misfortunes never come singly.

Having put away the medical kit, Huo Yin returned and handed her a candy, saying: "Hold it on the other side."

The unhappiness on Jiang Zhi's face vanished; she beamed, mumbling indistinctly: "Roar, roar." "Okay."

Even Huo Yin was amused by her antics.

How could there be someone like her?

One candy was enough to appease her.

That bowl of noodles also counted as dinner; after finishing the anti-inflammatory medicine, Jiang Zhi lay on the living-room sofa, watching the soap opera on TV, and gradually fell asleep.

As Huo Yin emerged from the study, he saw this scene.

The girl lay on her side on the sofa, her black hair like a waterfall spilling over the edge; her face looked especially tranquil, as if in an oil painting, exuding an unreal beauty that seemed like a dream or illusion.

He strode over, stopped before the sofa, and his gaze trailed from her cheek down to her slender, snow-white neck.

The girl's delicate skin was prone to retaining marks; the chin he had pinched while applying medicine earlier was still flushed, the redness lingering.

It provokes a desire to destroy.
