Chapter 104: Staying in the Polar Sea
Staying in the Polar Sea
Once they finished their emotional display, Chaosheng stepped forward slightly; upon seeing her movement, the three little Beastmen all turned their heads and stared at her in unison.
Chaosheng helplessly stopped in her tracks and spoke softly, "Alright."
"Do you have any plans for what you will do next?"
"Are you leaving the Polar Sea?"
Upon hearing this, Tu'er and Tusan both looked at Tuyi; their eldest brother was the one who made these decisions.
Tuyi, however, kept his small face serious and spoke cautiously, "No, I want to stay here."
Hm?
Chaosheng frowned in confusion, tilting her head to look at him, "Why?"
"Didn't you say that food in the Polar Sea is hard to find and that you were all about to starve to death?"
"I..." After organizing his thoughts, Tuyi finally spoke his mind, "Although food in the Polar Sea is not easy to find, if we work hard to look for it, we can still support myself and my younger brothers."
"The social atmosphere in the Polar Sea is honest and simple; it is better for us to grow up here."
"Honest and simple atmosphere?" Baini furrowed his brows and looked at Tuyi with a cold expression, "Little brat, what kind of nonsense are you spouting?"
"You were just scammed by that Female Beastman the moment you arrived, yet you still think the Polar Sea's atmosphere is honest and simple!"
"You wouldn't happen to be..." Baini raised an eyebrow and speculated maliciously, "You wouldn't happen to be counting on Sheng being kind-hearted and wanting to sponge off us to raise you, would you?"
"I did not!" Hearing Baini slander him like that, Tuyi glared at him angrily and said resolutely, "We have no intention of sponging off you!"
Seeing the little Beastman get angry, Chaosheng gave Baini a warning look and chided him, "Speak properly."
Baini lifted his head nonchalantly and let out an "Oh" from his throat.
Although Chaosheng did not quite understand them, she still said kindly, "Alright then."
"If you need any help, you can come find me."
Tuyi was still angry because of Baini's words and stubbornly refused to speak.
Instead, Tusan spoke sweetly to Chaosheng, saying, "Thank you, Mermaid sister, you are the best!"
Tu'er also gave Chaosheng a shy smile, "Thank you."
After saying goodbye to the three little Beastmen, Baini still felt a bit disgruntled.
To think they just let those three little brats go; even if they didn't kill them, they should have given them a little lesson.
Especially the big one—he was truly infuriating when he spoke.
Changye swam through the water slowly with a listless look in his eyes, still ruminating on what had just happened, when suddenly, as if thinking of something, he looked at Chaosheng curiously, "Just now, Tuyi said our Polar Sea has an honest and simple atmosphere; why does he think that?"
"They seem to have been to quite a few other seas; are other seas not like this?"
Chaosheng was the only Beastman among them who had been to other seas.
Recalling the now-blurred memories of the original owner, Chaosheng answered slowly, "The Polar Sea is indeed a bit more honest and simple."
The Polar Sea is boundlessly cold, and most of these creatures are monochromatic, spending their days thinking only about how to obtain sufficient food in the extreme, cold weather.
But other seas are different; they have spring all year round, abundant sunlight and rain, plenty of food, and the colors are much more brilliant and varied.
When they are idle, they go off to pursue other kinds of excitement.
Perhaps these three little Beastmen have experienced things no one knows about, which is why they feel this way.
"Sigh!" Changye let out a long sigh, his eyes filled with loneliness, "I really want to go see other seas too."
"I'm not even as good as those little brats; I've never even been to places outside the Polar Sea."
Hearing this, Chaosheng did not know how to comfort him and could only say, "There will be opportunities in the future."
Yinxu had been listening with a calm expression; as an Ice Bear Beastman, he had always lived in the Polar Sea, and he liked it here and was used to living here, so he had no longing for other places.
However, he still easily caught the implication in Chaosheng's words and spoke ambiguously, "Perhaps the outside world is not as wonderful as you think."
"How could that be?" Changye was full of disbelief; the little brat Tusan was a chatterbox, and all along the way, he had been babbling to him about the interesting things the three of them encountered in other seas, so he retorted, "Tusan told me that things in other seas are not only wonderful..."
"Even the fish there are more brilliant and colorful than ours!"
Yinxu: "..."
"Tch!" Baini swept a disdainful glance at Changye, his clear voice sounding as if it were laced with poison, "If you want to go, I can send you over right now!"
"?" Changye keenly sensed that this was not a kind remark; he looked at Baini suspiciously—he didn't mean he wanted to drive him out of the Polar Sea, did he?
Hmph, he could forget it!
"Baini!"
Hearing the little Mermaid's gentle call, Baini immediately changed his expression; his arrogant brows and eyes instantly became much more docile, and his voice carried two parts more intimacy, "Sheng, what's wrong?"
"I didn't say anything wrong, did I? Didn't he say he wanted to go?"
"We shouldn't force him to stay here, should we?"
Chaosheng looked at Baini's clever act and a trace of helplessness flashed in her eyes, "You two, stop being at each other's throats."
She could not bring herself to speak harshly to Baini, so she could only say this much to make him restrain himself a little.
"Oh, alright." Baini agreed nonchalantly, though in reality, he did not take it to heart at all.
A little White Whale Beastman—it was an easy matter for him to bully.
Perhaps it was the confidence of being a Seventh-tier Beastman; he acted much more brazenly than before, and even in front of the little Mermaid, he was slowly revealing his true nature, no longer restraining himself or pretending to be obedient as he once did.
When Chaosheng and the others returned to the Ice Cave, they found a familiar Beastman already waiting below the cave.
"Guxian?"
Chaosheng frowned, looking at him in confusion, "Why are you here?"
Seeing Chaosheng return, the light instantly returned to Guxian's listlessly drooping eyes, and his voice was melodious and alluring, "Chaosheng, you've finally returned?!"
"Look!" Guxian pointed to one side and said with great interest, "I went to catch fish for Xiaodu today, and I thought you seemed to like eating them too."
"I caught some for you while I was at it."
Chaosheng looked in the direction he pointed; the "some" Guxian mentioned was quite a lot, with a huge pile laid out there.
"This..." Chaosheng looked at the pile of fish jumping around in the grass net with difficulty, then looked at Guxian's expectant expression, and sighed slightly; oh well.
"Alright, thank you."
"Then we will accept these fish."
"Mm-hmm." Guxian nodded, his eyes fixed on Chaosheng without blinking.
It had been a long time since he had seen a female; she seemed even more beautiful.
"Wow, so many fish!" Changye stood in front of the grass net, looking at these fish in surprise, and said, "Then are we eating this fish today?"
Guxian looked toward the voice, and after seeing it was Changye, his expression turned cold; why hadn't this Beastman been killed by Baini and Yinxu yet?
