Chapter 24: Puti Grass
Puti Grass
Having been delayed for quite some time by the Black Butterfly Shell Beastman, Chaosheng looked at the sky and guessed that Baini had already finished hunting and gone to the Jingju Tribe.
She felt a bit like going to the Jingju Tribe to find him.
Come to think of it, she didn't seem to have been to his Tribe yet.
Aside from that off-putting "brother-in-law," Chaosheng felt that the Jingju Tribe was a very loving big family.
However, she had only seen one-third of the Beastmen in the Jingju Tribe; the day she got married, only the Beastmen who were relatively close to Baini had come.
Even though she, as the Mate, had a bad reputation, those Beastmen did not mind at all; instead, they all sincerely wished for Baini and her to find happiness.
Chaosheng was filled with deep emotion; she lifted her eyes slightly, her gentle gaze falling upon Yinxu, and seeing that his complexion seemed a bit poor, she immediately said considerately, "Why don't you go hunting?"
Yinxu had been busy with her for so long and hadn't eaten anything yet.
"I will look for some flowers and plants nearby and wait for you to return."
Her appetite was small, and she would be full after eating two or three fish in a meal, but Yinxu and Baini had extremely large appetites; Yinxu needed to eat dozens of kilograms of fish meat in one meal.
Baini was even more exaggerated, needing to eat hundreds of kilograms of food.
Yinxu was indeed hungry; having stayed underwater for a long time, his body began to feel somewhat uncomfortable, so he did not refuse.
"Alright."
"I am going up to forage for food."
"Don't go too far, don't let me be unable to find you."
Before leaving, Yinxu looked deeply at Chaosheng and instructed her carefully and thoroughly, wishing he could find a pouch to tuck Chaosheng into and carry her with him everywhere.
"I know," Chaosheng laughed helplessly.
The black-skinned, white-furred Beastman did not look at all like a creature belonging to the ocean; most creatures in the sea had smooth surfaces, and even if some were uneven, they would not grow fur.
He was a unique, bright color in this ocean world.
Chaosheng flicked her beautiful, shimmering large tail and swam around at will; the surrounding fish felt the presence of danger and immediately fled.
Chaosheng scanned the area inadvertently, and suddenly, her gaze paused; then she slowly swam to a pink coral, its pink and fresh color like cherry blossoms blooming on the seabed, a faint crimson carrying a dreamy hue, which immediately aroused Chaosheng's interest.
Last time she saw Xizhi wearing an amber bracelet, her heart had been itching for a long time, and she also wanted to get a bracelet for herself to wear.
But she hadn't decided what material to use to make it.
Use pearls? She had too many pearl accessories, and it really wasn't novel.
Gemstones? They weren't very suitable for making bracelets either.
Now that she saw this pink coral, she finally knew what to use.
Although coral could be seen everywhere in the sea, few Beastmen knew how to polish coral; they usually used ready-made pearls, shells, and gemstones to string together and decorate themselves.
Even if Beastmen knew coral was beautiful, they only admired and praised it, completely unaware of how to craft coral into ornaments.
They didn't know, but Chaosheng did.
And in the past, a piece of Blood Coral with good quality would sell for a very, very high price!
Chaosheng's heart stirred; she gripped the base of the coral with both hands, wanting to pull this pink coral out by the roots.
Yet in a flash, she saw a touch of yellow, golden and brilliant, so dazzling that Chaosheng's eyes were almost blinded.
The yellow grass was extremely tender, just like a string of gold ingots hanging there.
Puti Grass!?
Chaosheng's eyes lit up; she immediately let go of the coral in her hand and leaned in to identify it like it was a treasure, observing it carefully and thoroughly; her amethyst-like eyes grew brighter, and she could vaguely hear the sound of her own excited heartbeat in her ears.
It really is Puti Grass?!
Puti Grass is a Wind Element plant that can accumulate the power of the wind; in other words, it can increase one's Wind Element Ability.
She looked at the cluster of Puti Grass in front of her, her eyes gleaming, and sighed again that if she had known, she would have gone to learn Space Witchcraft back then, so she wouldn't have to hold everything by hand like this now.
She was terrified that if she were clumsy, she would damage such good medicinal herbs.
Chaosheng carefully held the Puti Grass, her tail stretched straight in tension, sitting obediently in front of the pink coral, looking around in excitement, occasionally blowing a string of bubbles to scare the small fish swimming by.
After a long time, she finally waited for Yinxu to return from foraging.
His snow-white fur drifted with the water current, yet miraculously remained firmly attached to his body, not a single strand falling into the sea.
Yinxu returned to the original spot and did not see Chaosheng's figure, his heart trembling with nervousness.
Fortunately, after a short while, he discovered her figure not far away.
"Why are you sitting here?" Yinxu asked with a light laugh, his eyes helpless and doting.
He was cold by nature, but only when he met Chaosheng did all kinds of emotions surge out; his joy, sorrow, and grief belonged only to her.
Chaosheng looked up at Yinxu, her small face, which had been drooping from boredom, lit up with joy, and she commanded him righteously, "Yinxu, can you help me move this coral back?"
Yinxu looked at her in confusion and asked, "What do you want this for?"
There was no other reason; it was just that coral was too common in the sea, and he really couldn't imagine what Chaosheng would use coral for.
"Don't you think this coral is very beautiful?" Chaosheng's eyes were clear and bright, her tone carrying a faint, charming naivety.
"It is... very beautiful."
But so what? Weren't all corals like this?
"I want to use the coral to make a bracelet to wear."
Chaosheng had already imagined what kind of bead string she wanted; it would definitely look very beautiful on her wrist.
"When the time comes, I will make three; one for me, one for you, and one for Baini."
When Yinxu heard himself mentioned, his brows and eyes became joyful; looking at the pink coral in front of him, his eyes held two more parts of emotion.
He glanced over lightly and saw the yellow grass in Chaosheng's arms, asking in confusion, "What is this?"
"This is Puti Grass."
"It can help Baini increase his ability."
Chaosheng looked at the golden-glowing Cattail Grass in her hand like a treasure and patiently explained to Yinxu.
"Oh." Yinxu's expression dimmed, and his mouth tasted somewhat bitter.
It doesn't matter; Baini knew Sheng earlier, so it is only right that Sheng values him more.
Chaosheng looked up and saw Yinxu's poor complexion, so she knew he had misunderstood.
She hurriedly explained, "I just happened to find this, and it just so happens to be a wind-element plant."
"Don't worry, I will work hard to find wood-element plants in the future, too, to make you all the most powerful Beastmen."
Yinxu was silent for a moment, then suddenly chuckled, "Okay."
Forget it, it is enough that Sheng has him in her eyes.
Chaosheng and Yinxu returned home, and the cave was cold and cheerless.
Chaosheng's heart skipped a beat; has Baini not returned yet? It has been so long.
Yinxu placed the pink coral beside the Shell Bed, and Chaosheng spread a layer of soft seaweed on the edge of the coral before placing the Cattail Grass on top.
Time passed bit by bit, and Baini still had not returned.
Suddenly, the seawater in front of the cave stirred, and an Orca swam toward them.
But Chaosheng could already distinguish Orcas now; this was not Baini!
The cave entrance was too small for the Orca to enter, so it stopped outside and said anxiously, "Bai... Baini is injured!"
