Chapter 60: Ambushed
Ambushed.
A cold, sticky dampness brushed across her delicate chin; the sleeping Chaosheng trembled her eyelashes in discomfort, but did not wake up.
Seeing the little female ignoring him, Zhuche secretly ground his fangs, his dark blue, cold snake pupils deepening as he looked at that familiar spot and bit down.
"Ah..."
Feeling a tingling pain, Chaosheng was just about to cry out in surprise when she was pulled into the space.
"What are you doing?"
The half-soft Mermaid was held in the arms of the Sea Snake Beastman who had already transformed into his human form; she pushed at Zhuche, struggling and wanting him to let her go, "What are you doing?"
A flash of anger crossed his dark blue snake pupils amidst their cold condensation, and he let out a light scoff, "What am I doing?"
He looked at the little Mermaid's face, which was slightly flushed from sleep, and pinched it.
His fangs were a bit itchy, but unfortunately, now that the little Mermaid was awake, he could no longer bite.
The soft, delicate flesh of her face was pinched in his hand, and the texture was so good that he couldn't help but rub it with his fingers a couple of times, "Hmm? What am I doing?"
"Why didn't you come to see me today? Did you forget about me?"
His deep snake pupils narrowed dangerously, and the force of his pinch on her face increased by a fraction.
Chaosheng blinked rapidly, her long lashes fluttering like the wings of a butterfly, her purple, gem-like eyes turning craftily and innocently, her voice clear and pure, "Did we agree to meet today?"
I don't think so.
The hand pinching her face tugged twice as if venting his anger; Zhuche looked at this heartless female indignantly, "Did you forget what you said to me?"
"Didn't you tell me to strive for it?"
"If you don't even come to see me, how am I supposed to strive for it?"
"Hmm?"
The bewitching, soul-stirring tail of his voice lingered by her ear; after thinking it over carefully, Chaosheng spoke up, "But I had my reasons for today, too."
"What reasons? Come on, tell me." Zhuche looked at her, half-believing and half-doubting, always feeling that this was just the little female's excuse.
"Haven't you heard?"
"The Whale Shark Tribe's Sea Spirit Ginseng was discovered and snatched away by other Beastmen."
"Hmm..." Zhuche pondered for a moment; it seemed he had heard Beastmen near him discussing this matter, but... his dark blue snake pupils looked at Chaosheng in confusion, "I've heard of it, but what does that have to do with you?"
"Of course it has to do with me," Chaosheng said with a proud look, "because I was the one who told them the location; otherwise, how could they have found it?"
Zhuche keenly sensed that something was wrong, "Did something happen today?"
Having to repeat herself again, Chaosheng sighed helplessly, but still gave Zhuche a brief summary of the day's events.
"It's just that those Beastmen came to confront me today, saying I caused the death of a Hui Fish Beastman."
"But in fact, that Hui Fish Beastman was working for the Whale Shark Tribe and died because of a Mental Sea Riot caused by Black Filth contamination."
"To prove that what I said was true, I told them where the Whale Shark Tribe was digging for the Sea Spirit Ginseng."
"Heh!" Zhuche chuckled, his hand loosening on Chaosheng's small face, his bright red thin lips curling into a mischievous smirk as he clicked his tongue in praise, "That's really interesting!"
He was most happy to see the Beastmen of the Polar Sea fighting each other; it provided him with plenty of new entertainment.
Chaosheng gently placed her hand on Zhuche's shoulder, a playful and intriguing smile tugging at the corner of her mouth, "Now that you know, can you let me down?"
After saying this, she shook her body, signaling for Zhuche to put her down quickly.
Only when Zhuche saw that the little female was getting anxious did he unhurriedly put the little Mermaid down.
Anyway, inside his space, the little Mermaid couldn't run away.
Chaosheng smoothed out her gauze dress, which had been wrinkled, and looked at Zhuche unkindly, "Alright, let me out."
Baini might sleep soundly, but Yinxu always woke up early, as if he couldn't sleep; if he discovered she was missing, that would be the end of it!
Because of this, the distance between Chaosheng and Zhuche was separated by quite a bit.
His knobby fingers rubbed together lingeringly, and his bobbing Adam's apple seemed to still be recalling the fragrance on the little female's body.
Following his heart, Zhuche grabbed Chaosheng's wrist and pulled with force, causing Chaosheng to slide into Zhuche's embrace by inertia.
Feeling the body temperature he craved so much, Zhuche narrowed his eyes and sighed involuntarily, "Hiss!"
This time, Chaosheng did not push him away, but said with slight dissatisfaction, "What are you doing?"
"In the middle of the night, bringing me into your space?"
"Now that we've met, you should let me go."
Her soft, silky long hair brushed against his lips, causing a slight itch; Zhuche's eyes deepened, and he left a kiss, almost imperceptibly, "You can go."
"When are we meeting tomorrow?"
"Hmm?"
Zhuche was not so easily dismissed; he had waited a full day today, and hadn't waited for this heartless little Mermaid to come find him.
He wouldn't let her leave easily without getting a definite answer from her.
Meet?
Where would she have the time to specifically talk about love with him tomorrow?
The Whale Shark Tribe had such a big mess today, and she still had to go watch their misfortune.
"Hmm?"
A cold kiss landed on her hair, and his bewitching, lingering voice felt as if he were kissing her ear.
Her slender, curled eyelashes trembled imperceptibly, and she quietly moved her head away, "Tomorrow... tomorrow night at this time."
There was no other way; only at this time was it least likely to be discovered.
She hadn't figured out how to tell Yinxu and Baini about this yet.
Yinxu and Baini were both big jealous types; how could they accept this so easily?
She closed her eyes with a headache; there was no help for it, who told her to crave Zhuche's space.
"Hmph!" Zhuche let out a scoff, his charming voice laced with a hint of doting, "Fine, this time tomorrow."
"Then it's a deal, we'll only meet for a moment."
"I won't stay long."
"Good."
Inside the gauze curtains, a beautiful Mermaid suddenly appeared on the spacious Shell Bed.
The black vortex above spun rapidly, shrinking smaller and smaller until it vanished from sight.
Chaosheng cast a suspicious glance in the direction of Baini and Yinxu, and only after confirming there was nothing unusual did she settle down on her little bed, ready to sleep.
To the right, a handsome head poked out from the high ice wall; Yinxu watched the little Mermaid inside the light gauze, a flash of coldness crossing his dark brown eyes.
"Here, Masha asked me to give this to you."
"She told me to thank you."
Honglianlian cast a look of disdain at the sapphire, yet her hand honestly picked it up, her eyes staring at it without blinking, "Thank me for what?"
"For persuading her to let the Blue Shark Tribe break away from the Whale Shark Tribe." Muyi's amused voice carried a hint of helplessness.
The Whale Shark Tribe has suffered heavy losses recently, and their strength and status have plummeted.
If the Blue Shark Tribe had continued to follow them, they would certainly have been implicated by now.
Honglianlian pouted haughtily, "Then why didn't she come herself?"
"She's probably busy lately."
"Tch!" Honglianlian muttered with dissatisfaction, "Her, she just can't bring herself to thank me in person, so she entrusted you to come instead."
"But, she really does have to thank me for this."
"I was the one who tipped off Chaosheng about this in advance; who knew the Whale Shark Tribe was hiding so much, striking so viciously from behind!"
