Chapter 61: Morning Hunt
Morning Hunt
"Come to think of it, I had no idea Chaosheng knew the location of the Sea Spirit Ginseng all along."
Honglianlian sighed as she spoke, her naive, pretty face sagging with disappointment. "If I had known earlier, I would have had my mother send Beastmen to snatch a few stalks of Sea Spirit Ginseng too."
Their Tribe had been targeted by the Whale Shark Tribe for a long time; they couldn't buy Sea Spirit Ginseng even if they wanted to, and at most, they could only buy one or two stalks at a high price from other Tribes for emergencies.
It was a pity that by the time she remembered this, the Sea Spirit Ginseng had all been snatched up by that group of lucky Beastmen; she really was fed up with her own brain.
Muyi was also somewhat helpless, but she still comforted her: "It's fine, at the very least we already know the location of the Sea Spirit Ginseng."
"When the next batch grows, we can just go and harvest it."
"That's true." Honglianlian's mood brightened considerably, and she crossed her arms over her chest, looking self-satisfied. "Anyway, the Whale Shark Tribe is in such a mess right now, they probably don't have time to come and deal with us."
"Xihang is also pitiful; his Mate is gone for no reason, and he has to suffer from filth and torture every day." Muyi truly sympathized with Xihang; admittedly, Xihang was ugly, jealous, and had a violent temper.
The former patriarch of the Whale Shark Tribe, who was the mother of Xizhi and Xichong, took a fancy to Xihang's talent and chose him to be her foster son.
Later, in order to become the patriarch of the Whale Shark Tribe, Xizhi coaxed Xihang into becoming her Beast Husband.
But after Xizhi became patriarch, she took in Beast Husband after Beast Husband, all of whom were Male Beastmen who were just eye candy with no abilities at all.
Even a fool knew she was looking down on her own Beast Husband.
Mentioning Xihang, Honglianlian rolled her eyes in disgust. "Don't speak for him!"
"Anyway, let's just watch Xichong and Xihang bite each other now; the harder they bite, the happier I'll be."
Chaosheng woke from her haze, then saw Yinxu sitting at the entrance, looking at her gloomily.
Chaosheng was startled by the stare. "?!"
She subconsciously flicked her large purple tail, its beautiful scales shimmering with a faint iridescent light. Chaosheng swam toward Yinxu and asked innocently, "Did you not go hunting today?"
Yinxu stared at the scales that looked like jewels, dark colors swirling in his brown eyes, his voice raspy with sleepiness. "We haven't hunted together in a long time."
"How about we go together today?"
"?" Chaosheng blinked in confusion, her gaze flickering, but she ultimately agreed. "Okay."
"But we might have to stop by the Whale Shark Tribe to take a look."
Yinxu's relaxed brows showed a hint of doubt. "Hm? Why go there?"
Chaosheng said bluntly: "Just to take a look; after all, now that you ask around a little, everyone knows it was me who told the Beastmen the location of the Sea Spirit Ginseng."
"The Whale Shark Tribe might already be thinking about how to take revenge on me."
A smile rippled across Yinxu's cold face, his heavy mood lightening slightly. "You know they want to take revenge on you, and you're still going."
"Yeah."
Chaosheng nodded without hesitation. She had to go and give the Whale Shark Tribe a reminder; if they dared to mess with the Beastmen around her or set their sights on the Jingju Tribe, she would not be polite.
Morning light fell upon the layers of ripples on the sea surface, pale golden rays piercing straight into the seawater.
The dark and cold seabed slowly awakened.
Coral polyps trembled slightly, spitting out tiny bubbles; a few translucent mantis shrimp curled up at the edge of their sand burrows, their long, thin antennae swaying gently.
A pale red sea slug lay on the dark green seaweed, its soft body slowly contracting, the gill plumes at its tail end like blooming lace.
Chaosheng and Yinxu swam side by side; she playfully reached out to startle the small fish swimming past, or pushed against the beautiful red coral growing there.
The place where they hunted was full of fish and shrimp. Chaosheng's diet was very simple; she was especially fond of cod and never grew tired of it.
After eating just two fish, Chaosheng secretly pondered that this place was not far from the Whale Shark Tribe, and after Yinxu returned, they would head over.
Come to think of it, she didn't know if the Whale Shark Tribe suspected that Xizhi's death had anything to do with her.
Using her Wood Element Ability, she built herself a simple swing out of seaweed to play on, swaying back and forth with the flow of the seawater.
Baini's ability was already at the Sixth Tier; if only she could find herbs to enhance his Wood Element Ability.
The little Mermaid held tightly onto two grass vines, her large purple tail hanging down naturally, her thick, flowing long hair dancing with the waves.
Suddenly, a hoarse, low roar came through.
The sound traveled through the seawater, creating echoes; the sound was dull and raspy, like a cry of pain from someone who had been tortured for a long time.
Chaosheng stared blankly in the direction the sound came from.
Oh no, Yinxu was right over there.
She threw down the grass vines in her hands, used both hands to forcefully part the water current in front of her, and swam toward that direction with all her might.
A massive walrus, about twenty meters long, had a huge body with strange, bulging muscles. Its tusks were like two sharp scimitars, emitting a cold luster. Its skin was full of rough wrinkles like old tree bark, covered in cracks. Those small eyes were full of sinister, irritable energy, looking unkindly at the handsome and gentle Male Beastman in front of him.
This Beastman really had the face he hated the most.
If his Mate were still here, seeing this Beastman, she would definitely have taken him home as a husband.
"Ah!"
Thinking of this, Xihang's head hurt even more. He roared in pain, a flash of killing intent crossing his eyes.
Mate, I will send him to you to keep you company.
When I come to see you, you must be a little nicer to me.
Yinxu looked coldly at the strange walrus trying to rush over and attack him; he seemed to know who this was.
He had heard a little about this Beast Husband of Xizhi.
He was actually quite a pitiful Male Beastman.
"Ah, die!"
The walrus's already ugly face was now full of ferocity, his eyes bloodshot.
Yinxu stared intently at his movements, secretly gathering his ability, intending to strike back the moment he came over.
But the Beastman rushing toward him suddenly stopped halfway.
Yinxu looked up in confusion, only to see a familiar figure.
The little Mermaid flicked her tail and rushed toward him in worry.
"Yinxu, are you alright?"
Chaosheng looked at him with concern, terrified that Yinxu might have been injured.
Hearing the little Mermaid's concerned voice, Yinxu felt a warmth in his heart, and his elegant eyes rippled with soft light, "I am fine."
"That's good."
Only after confirming that Yinxu was unharmed did Chaosheng let out a long sigh of relief.
Yinxu secretly pulled the little Mermaid's shoulders toward him, gently embracing her, his dark brown eyes shimmering with starlight, "I am truly fine."
Even though there were hardly any Beastmen in the entire Polar Sea who could hurt him, he was still happy that the little Mermaid cared about him.
"Mm-hmm."
Chaosheng used her Witch Power to immobilize the walrus Beastman; she looked at the strange, giant walrus and had a guess in her heart, "Is this the Beast Husband of the Whale Shark Tribe?"
Yinxu looked at the little Mermaid in his arms, his brows and eyes filled with pleasure, his voice soft, "Yes."
"I don't know how he ended up here."
